  1. As i said the force cache will do just that it will cache all the related images to the launchbox/images/cache folder this makes retrieving said images much quicker than just scrolling through the lists, as this is a permanent hdd cache it will stay the same even after a reboot. This is a very difficult thing to troubleshoot as two people with exactly the same specs can have varying performance, and we don't know why that is the case. Also what one person finds to be slow another user may feel is completely acceptable speeds, which makes it even more difficult when comparing different systems or specs. Jason the developer works very hard to optimise the program on a regular basis and for the vast majority of people performance is very good. Then we have people with decent specs with which Bigbox should run perfectly fine saying it's slow and choppy and we just don't understand why that would be the case. As i said though if the force cache images doesn't improve things for you then email support@unbrokensoftware.com and ask for a refund, Jason is very good at refunding people who are genuinely having performance issues with the program.
  2. Also to add to that, you need to make sure that the view in whatever theme you are using support video's. Most themes have several different views and not all of them support the video's so you will have to cycle the views to find one that does.
  3. And as @DOS76 said if that doesn't solve any of your issues you are more than welcome to ask for a refund.
  4. It's possible that as its still a fairly new install that bigbox is still caching all the relevant images, clear logos etc. I don't no which theme you are using but some are much more media rich than others and will need a bit more horsepower for a smooth experience. Bigbox actually uses a gpu if you have one installed also and that can make a difference also. Have you tried force caching your images? There is a option for it in options/image cache/force populate images, this can take a while depending on collection size but will cache all images to your hdd. This should smooth out performance for you.
  5. 100% agree, i have absolutely zero artistic talent, but my BigBox looks great and that's all thanks to the wonderful artists and video creators we have here in this awesome community.
  6. Your best bet would be to email support@unbrokensoftware.com and explain the situation.

  8. There is also a preview window that will show what the file-names will look like so you can double check before confirming the edit.
  9. It's been a long time since i had to do it, but i remember doing it all in one go with the DS roms. You could always do the remove two to get rid of 1-99, then remove one on those files again to remove 100-999 then remove one again to do 1000-9999.
  10. I second bulk rename utility, you can just tell it to take off a certain number of characters at the beginning or end of a file name, and you can do that to a whole folder in one go.
  11. Yeah and that's a pain in the arse going through and just checking the ones you want in the torrent list. Surprised know one has pulled them out and created a separate torrent for them.
  12. Is it possible to just grab the naomi .chd's in a pack or do you have to grab the full mame set?
  13. You could try this new theme it might be what you are looking for.
  14. Not at the moment, but this was on the last user poll and got quite a lot of votes. So should be coming soon although no ETA at the moment.
  15. Yeah of course, but if you don't have the .chd pack they won't work in demul either. So if you aren't going to grab the .chd's i would probably just delete the naomi playlist.
  16. You may need the .chd files for the naomi games, but that is a VERY big pack about 450GB. I have a lot of naomi games in mine but i have a full non-merged mame set and the full .chd pack so it's nearly 600GB in total size.
  17. Yes you can add more games to the playlist's but they should actually already have all the correct games in them. If you want to though you can right click a game, then choose add to playlist, then choose the playlist you want to add the game to.

    music help

Well i have been searching for ages and finally found this. So it looks like you need to create a m3u playlist with all your music files then point the game at the playlist not the files. Hope that helps you.
  19. Ah yes, i should of thought of that. Yes launchbox needs to know were your roms are and mame does as well. Glad you got it working.

    music help

As i said it's not a feature i use so i am not 100% sure myself but i don't think that that is possible at the moment. Actually have you tried creating a folder with the same name as the game and dropping the mp3's in there? If that doesn't work you can use the issues/request in the site header up above to submit a feature request, or search there and see if someone else has already requested it and if so vote on the existing ticket. If you do create one yourself don't forget to link to it in here so people know about it and can vote on it.

    music help

Well i don't use the music feature personally, but have you tried naming them the same as the game but adding -01 -02 -03 etc to the end of the filename? That is how the images work when there is more than one for a particular game. Worth a try.
  22. Excellent, thanks for that, ill have a play in a bit.
