If you can, check out 1.17 beta 1 and see if you are seeing the same thing on your device. You can post any feedback in its beta thread:
-
Has anyone with the error tried to do this yet?

The Beta Thread for LaunchBox for Android 1.17 has been opened and can be found here:

Thanks, we'll look into this and see if it's something we can recreate on our side and see what we can do about it.

Hi Everyone, 1.17 Beta 1 is out with a bunch of fixes that solve a number of issues that cropped up due to the big MAUI framework change. This will be a short development cycle to shore up as many bugs as we can. Once this update goes live we will be pivoting to new feature releases. For users that were having issues on 1.16, it would be great to hear from you if this beta solves the problems you were facing. Thanks to all who help test these beta versions. Don't forget to include the following information in your feedback to help us out with tracking down with any issues you may face with these betas: Your device specs The version of Android and API version Description of the issue Can it be reliably reproduced on your end? Reproduction steps You can opt into the beta within LaunchBox for Android by going into Option and turning on the Update to Beta Releases option. If a beta release is available, you will get prompted each time the app opens up. So, the way that it currently works is that if you favorite a game on Arcade and Windows, that game will become favorited across your other Windows/Android builds, as long as they use the same games database ID. I think the outlier here are the games within that online collection you see. The favorite button there wouldn't be connected to the statistics sync feature, and I believe it was added a long time ago for a different thing entirely that was never fully realized. We have some plans to refresh the web side of things and it's possible we may revisit the whole collections feature on the games database to see how we can better fit it into our long term plans.

It's referencing something else. This feature provides access to a local network share that is accessible on your local network. Here's some information about it:

Which theme view are you using? Did you make sure the update any custom themes to their latest versions?

The Game Discovery Center - Theme Tutorial
faeran replied to faeran's topic in Custom Theme Tutorials
So, if I'm reading this right, it sounds like you want to add a list to the Game Discovery Center that's a list of filter sections? So something like this, as the hierarchy: Root Filter Lists All Games Platforms Platform Categories Playlists Genres Developers Publishers Series Statuses Sources Ratings Play Modes Regions Game Discovery Center All Games Platforms Platform Categories Playlists Genres Developers Publishers Series Statuses Sources Ratings Play Modes Regions -
The Game Discovery Center - Theme Tutorial
faeran replied to faeran's topic in Custom Theme Tutorials
I can definitely see the allure of wanting something like this, and it's still on the list of our big pile of items. One thing to note though is how the system currently works and what this request is actually asking for. The system is set up like so: Root Filter Lists All Games Game Discovery Center Platforms Platform Categories Genres Developers ...etc (many more) A user has the option to start in any of those filter sections. So what the request seems to be asking for is this: Root Filter lists All Games Game Discovery Center Platforms Platform Categories Game Discovery Center So the actual request is something like "Show Game Discovery Center in Platform Categories Filter Section", with the potential to allow users to set where in their Platform Categories hierarchy they'd want to see this option appear. Then UX would need to be altered to know where a user is so it can understand what happens when they navigate forward and backwards (eg. going into Platform Categories > Game Discovery Center, then navigating backwards out of the Game Discovery Center would bring you to your Platform Categories list, but navigating from System Menu > Game Discovery Center and backwards would then bring you to the System Menu). We'd also need a minimum of a Game Discovery Center clear logo, and probably need to figure out what the background image binding would do, which currently tries to scan the games inside of a particular category/platform/playlist and brings up a random background image to display. Again, I can definitely see the allure of wanting something like this, and it's definitely still on our big pile of items to get to. -
Yes, the issue is actually that the uninstall button is not grayed out (it should be), as all official plugins cannot be uninstalled. This should now be fixed.

Each beta, this changelog gets updated to include everything within that beta at that given time. You can also just wait for me to update this post as well, but the changelog will update first. After a beta goes live, I run a bunch of live tests which take time, before I update the beta post. We've always talked about it internally, but it really comes down to how much work do we want to siphon out of actual features to work on a revamp of the welcome screen. At some point you'll probably see it change, but up until now it just hasn't been high on the priority list. In saying that, if you click on the box that shows a highlight of the features, it brings you to the changelog on the website.

Storefront screenshots as I listed above, or are other kinds of screenshots showing up when you have a background image?

One thing to note is that your license is not associated to any accounts and never has been. If you still have your license email, your license file is attached to it. If you lost your license email, you can simply recover it using the lost license form: https://.www.launchbox-app.com/premium/lost-license If you lost access to your email address, that's when you can email the support mailbox that @JoeViking245 is referring to there.

Launchbox 13.17 - High CPU Usage, Slow Boot Times, and Sluggish Speeds
faeran replied to Wally's topic in Troubleshooting
Good to hear. Good to hear, but just know the Save Management feature and startup times aren't actually linked in any way, but we'll take the win. -
There is no current known issue with changing views in Big Box, and there hasn't been for quite a while. However, if you do have a specific issue you'd like troubleshooted, open up a new thread and people would be happy to help.
-
There's your issue. You need to select your root folder, not platform folders. So, if your path is: g:\Games\[platforms] Choose: g:\Games\ Next page will list all your platforms under the Games folder.
-
Try to go into your LaunchBox\Updates folder and delete any beta files and try to download it again. It happens on the page directly after you choose your root folder. However, I'd love to hear what you feel is missing from that page. This definitely was specific to Omni, but it should be fixed using beta 4.

Fix what?
-
Beta 4 is out with the following fixes: Fixed: Secondary platforms under Associated Platforms will now correctly respect M3U checkbox settings Fixed: A rare issue where specific custom themes could incorrectly sort games when using Arrange By options
-
Sounds like you might be confusing the welcome screen vs. the changelog under Menu > Help > Changelog
-
Just in case you don't want to wait for me, any new changes will also be reflected in the changelog in the app and on the website 😉

Beta 3 is out with the following changes: New Feature: Added the ability to import ROMs from several platforms at once Improvement: Optimized the startup process for slightly faster load times
