LaunchBox Multi Monitor and BigBox +3rd monitor plugin
Retro808 commented on JoeViking245's file in Third-party Apps and Plugins
@JoeViking245 That custom controls folder was done in one of my pause themes. I used a custom folder as a couple users that wanted the theme did not want to have custom controls images inside the actual LB Arcade Controls folder to preserve the images of the real arcade control panels. Those themes are a bit old and could use a refresh using visibility bindings instead or the binding in the existing theme can just be changed to use the Arcade - Controls folder binding.- 85 comments

I am sure it will be. The new site is a work in progress as the team now has a dedicated developer. So expect there will be more updates.
-
Ahh, so it looks if it does not have a full Day-Month-Year date in the game's details it will not show anything on the main page. So it is not a case of it affecting everything just games without DD/MM/YYYY in the release date field.
-
Are referring to somewhere specific as I do see release dates? At least in most platforms they are there and some games appear to be missing the date which would need users to edit and add. It would be nice to be able to enter a date and have the DB filter to games released in that month/year. At least in the new DB current development state I cannot see a way to do that.

What emulator are you using for Arcade games and did you go into the emulator directly and make sure the controller is mapped for in game controls?

Can I disable the new version popup during big box startup
Retro808 replied to DannyShane's topic in Troubleshooting
Yes, turn off updates in LB completely. The LB setting should stop notices in BB as well. -
Yes. In the Running Script tab.
-
@MJF I combined this thread with the new one you made about the missing yearly. This way we can keep any update recommendations in one spot for the team to see instead of looking through multiple threads. Going forward please use this thread for any recommendations to the new GamesDB layout.

Unless you have some really obscure playlists you should be able to find a clear logo for a ton of the more common playlists in our downloads section. I know you said you looked and saw most were for platforms so possibly you missed this section. https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/category/28-playlist-clear-logos/

Missing many MAME videos via LB - where am I going wrong?
Retro808 replied to jackhulk's topic in Game Media
What do you have your "Scrape As" set for the platform you imported the roms into? It should be set as "Arcade". Just deleted and reimported WWF Superstars and the video was downloaded fine. -
Tha profile.ini is not anything from LB. Might be something from a plugin if you downloaded any to use within LB. Badges are probably just a feature of the forum Jason either never chose to use or turned off due to possibly not feeling it was a useful feature. Never noticed it personally.
-
What exact steps did you take to import? There are several ways to import using the "import roms feature". So knowing exact steps would help identify the breakdown. Can you clarify if the game will run directly inside Mame without using LB? If that answer is no that is the issue.
-
Go to >Tools >Manage >Emulators and edit Retroarch. In the bottom right of the main details page make sure you do not have the option to "Extract Archive..." checked. Mame roms needs to stay zipped. If that is not the issue make sure in the Associated Platforms tab you have the correct core selected for your Arcade platform.
-
LB cannot launch the game because you have no file linked. In the image of the Launching tab it should show the rom file not just the folder the roms are in (like in the image attached). Each individual game should have a linked file there. To test this edit that same game and go to the Launching tab. Click Browse and search for the actual rom file and select it. The game should run now (As long as the game runs directly in Mame without LB that is). What method did you use to import the file?
-
Are you downloading just single random mame roms or did you download a full Mame rom set. Missing files usually means a user downloaded individual different game roms or downloaded a junk curated small rom set. If you did not download a true full Mame rom set best recommendation is to just that. Google "Pleasuredome IO" and it will be the first site.
-
If you right click the game and edit it then go into the Launching tab what emulator is shown? You imported everything into the one Arcade platform and looks like you also had LB create the arcade playlists. If you want the games in the arcade playlist for Capcom Play Systems to use an emulator (or an RA core) different than standard Mame you need to make sure all those games are edited to use something different. I know your pic shows for the platform called "Arcade" you have selected RA and the FBAlpha core, but was that what you chose to use when you imported the Mame rom set?
-
That is actually a specific image file. You will have to look in the theme’s images or media folder. I do not recall which specific image folder. You will know as you look through them.
-
No, LB does not have native marquee support like BB does so dropping these into a LBTheme folder will not work.

Launchbox Not Displaying All Installed Libretro Cores?
Retro808 replied to ThrobbingRosco's topic in Noobs
That is because I believe that one is a Mednafen team core so look for Mednafen_Saturn_Libretro. -
Launchbox Not Displaying All Installed Libretro Cores?
Retro808 replied to ThrobbingRosco's topic in Noobs
Can you show a pic of what you mean. Maybe it is a misunderstanding of what you are saying, but you do not assign cores to an emulator. You set Retroarch as the emulator and then in the "Associated Platforms" tab for Retroarch you list the platform name and select the core there.
