  1. I think you can only map 1 key per function. Unless something changed in newer versions. It has been a while since I set my keys in BigBox. I do not remember how to set a key to none from within the BigBox settings, but you could always go into the BigBoxSettings.xml and find the function and set the key to "0" that will make it "None" when you launch BigBox again.

  2. Before startup videos loaded into VLC then once complete BigBox launched. Now BigBox launches and plays the startup video. We can hit a button at anytime and jump right into BigBox. So that should make it possible for ledblinkey to start since BigBox is actuallly started and is the one playing the video. Right? I am pretty much a layperson on things like this so that is only how I am interpreting what I read. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This is a learning experience for me.

    • New Premium Feature: Big Box Startup videos have been overhauled to be run from within Big Box instead of launching VLC directly; videos will now automatically run for the full length of the video unless skipped with a key or button press
  3. Do your other platform videos work?

Is Sega Naomi set up as a platform or a playlist in your machine? I ask as Sega Naomi is one of the playlists LB will create if you choose to let LB do that when you import Mame Roms.

Also what view in Cid's theme are you using. I think there are some views in his theme that will not play the platform video.

  4. As shinra mentioned it would probably be beneficial to post on eatkinola's theme thread if you think the issue is related to a theme. Eatkinola has worked diligently to work out kinks in the Nostalgia theme and has welcomed the feedback. That same can be said of our other theme creators. Here is a quick link to the theme thread

  5. A couple more. I made these pretty much in similar style to the others I posted. If anyone is using these and has Riffman81's set if you prefer the ones I made more fullscreen art detail like Riff's let me know and I will redo mine. I am learning photoshop so that gives me more chances to practice the software.

  6. If you open Toobin in Mame and hit Tab it will open the settings for Mame then choose Input - This Machine (or it may say something similar) and that will allow you to set for only that game and not alter the general settings for controls of Mame.

  7. 1. In Cid's download page he has a guide on how to manage your background videos for his theme here

    2. As far as video editor goes there are plenty out there. I am not good at it but I use Adobe Premiere and FIlmora. Both are paid software. I do not do a lot of videos so really have little input on this that could help you.

    3. How do I add BigBox videos?....What specifically are you asking about adding here? Game videos, platform videos, theme video?

    4. Platform videos are stored in Launchbox\Videos\Platforms folder.  That is if you are talking about the video of the actual platform. All videos by default are in the Launchbox\Videos folder. This is where you will find sub folder for Platforms (this is where just the video of each platform is - not the game play videos), Platform Categories, and each Platform System (this is where each systems game play video are). There may also be a theme specific video folders and anything put in the theme specific folder of videos would override the main Launchbox folder when using that theme.

    5. BigBox options is where you will find the controller automation to set your emulator exit hook. If for some odd reason this does not work on a specific emulator some emulators you can set the exit in them (such as Mame) or you can also use an auto hotkey in the manage emulators settings in Launchbox to set an AHK Exit command. Thread here will help with some useful AHK scripts.

  8. I would think you have to import your own video clips or even art work. Game media has to be downloaded or copied over from existing data so logically it would be the same for any other media you import to be launched through the front end. I am doubtful LB/BB can read the existing movie file and play a clip directly from it.

  9. Unfortunately because SNES box art is widescreen and these are not. Have to take some allowances to work within constraints. Not taken from directly from a Hyperspin set simply taken from searched images. I can create a less squished image, but then I would have to cut off more of the image or have it presented in a smaller portion of the overall canvas.

  10. I found the original artwork for the cover. The colors are different as the creator of the box for the rom hack said he altered the original colors to suit his theme. I like the original colors so kept it and brightened the Metroid text.

  11. Please correct me as I have a lot to learn. If I am wrong I am wrong no way around it.  You are right that picture you shared painted it bright and clear. Now I know what to look for the more I tweak and test things. I honestly never recall seeing that as most views I tend to you seem to mask the offset.

@bbweiners Thanks as well to you. Your post helped me see something new.

  12. @neil9000 Ah now I see. I figured it could be down to likely I do not see it as the views I use do not show the true issue. I typically use full screen views or one where the view is offset in the layout it is hard to tell the alignment issue is present. In CZ2 in the view you posted I see it clear as day. :D Once again you imparted your knowledge on me!

Rincewind & New Retro Big Box

Thanks @bbweiners Just loaded up Rincewind to test. Here is a video. I am on WMP and videos run good. You can even see in NES the video briefly tries to change size before it plays. In some videos like in Wii the video goes almost into an ultrawide display. I thought I was using software to keep resolutions in line on all 3 monitors but I am not. I only have it set in the Windows 10 display settings. I do not think I altered anything. You do not see your issue in my video right? Just making sure I am not blind and missing something. I am no means an expert on this stuff. I just share and try to help when I can. I just wonder what is I do not see the offset videos.

Hate to contradict you here fella, but...... I have the same issue on some themes. If the theme is built to support 16:9 videos the 4:3 videos are off centre as they start where the 16:9 one would, but are not as wide, so are seemingly placed towards the left of the screen because of the lack of width, (basically the 4:3 image doesn't stretch as far across the screen so seems to be aligned to the left) This only happens with WMP and aligns just fine with VLC. :)

No not at all my good man. I know you definitely have more experience and more knowledge on these things than me. You are not really contradicting me as I only stated it was odd I do not experience it. I was not saying it was not an issue. It could be the themes and the views of the themes I use just do not clearly show the issue or maybe since I use a triple monitor set up the software I use to keep video resolutions in sync takes care of it. I am sure there is a reason I have not experienced it. :D

I am curious to see if I can get see it on my machine. What theme for you does this occur?

  15. I would try switching to WMP for videos. Memory leak has been reported before and in the beta thread here it was talked about. One of our members CKP was having issues and on recommendation switched to WMP since Jason mentioned VLC uses alot of RAM. It seemed to work for CKP so give it a try.

I remember Jason mentioning BigBox out of the box can use 1GB of RAM and it is not uncommon to use more depending on what bells and whistles of BigBox you use. I linked to that beta thread twice. Probably worth a read for you. So on 4GB of RAM you may want to keep the theme bare bones of the WMP switch does not help.
