Ive been wanting this one as well for some time now, but I think its too small for my hands seeing as it misses palm grips also my brain is now set on 6 buttons layouts as well, don't know why I can't get rid of this urge though. Usually i'm not this indicisive, I also saw a great deal for a Hori Real Arcade Pro N, although I am doubting this one as well seeing I have to use it on my lap and will probably miss the d-pad, it's insane and laughable I guess but I can't decide, will save me some bucks though lmao.

Thanks and Happy Christmas or Yule to you all as well! I wanted to ask you @Dane and @Lordmonkus about that friggin sweet looking Hori Fighter Commander, i've been drooling on it for several days now, I'm confused as I really want to buy it but having no analog sticks on it withholds me, ofcourse I could switch controllers for the type of games that require these but am having some (probably noob still) problems when connecting and disconnecting the controllers I have now with Mame, as soon as I plugged out one of these the controller mappings vanished into the digital cyber black hole, I have learned to set the default settings file to read only to prevent this from happening. Is there a way to easily swap controllers like you can on consoles for example without messing with different files? Seeing there are even more emulators out there than mame which I have to mess with in the future still, I am afraid I already know the answer to this. Any hints or experience shared on this matter is very welcome.

Arcade 3D Boxes 2.0 View File Happy Christmas or Yule brothers! Arcade 3D Boxes 2.0 Important: Press follow button in the upper right corner to get notified for any future updates to this project, future updates to this page will not be pushed to the "What's New" section. I was inspired by the Mame 3D Boxes by @Robin55 and @Reevesad and the work by @spycat and @MadK9 At first I experimented to convert Robin's work to a darker color as it fits my dark colored setup better, one thing let to another and was helped enormously by @Robin55 in the process of automation and more, if it wasn't for all his help and work this project wouldn't have happened, thanks again so much brother! \m/ The 3D boxes are mostly for the Mame set (could include other emulators as well) but only includes Arcade video games, no pinball, fruit machines and such. Features: Covers based on official flyers, instruction flyers or fan art, customized official artwork and more. I've hunted down previously artwork missing from databases and/or very rare flyers, original resolution of these images can be low some times. Each box has a logo for the game, if it was missing I've hunted it down or extracted it from images (I upload these logos to the database as well) Each box has a logo of the company that either developed or published it (some flyers may have a different publisher from another region, bit confusing at times) Each box is manually color corrected, cleaned and optimized Some games have a second alternative version, made from cabinet side art, marquees or from a different region for example Please remember if you miss boxes to also check the naming convention of the file and if it is the same as the most recent version in the database. Any entry with "The" in front (Like The Astyanax) will be included in the QRST pack. NOTE! : After installing the images you have to select all (or any alphabetical range) arcade games (CTRL+A = select all) go to Tools and click 'Refresh selected images', let it load and cache and the games should now display the right 3D boxes. Hope you like Credits Thanks go out to anyone contributing and making art for the launchbox games database. Thanks for any help, encouragement and advice: @Robin55 @spycat @MadK9 @Reevesad @Jason Carr @Kondorito @zetec-s-joe @Fablog @andyco47 @mikty Special thanks to: @neil9000 and @Retro808 for those logistics \m/ Submitter Mr. RetroLust Submitted 12/24/2018 Category Arcade

What I want for Christmas lol I have this controller in mind that doesn't seem to exist yet, something allround for every type of game (Mame especially). Here's a list of what I'm looking for: - Wireless Bluetooth - Six button layout (Like Hori Fighting Commander and Saturn controller) - Spinner and/or Trackball - D-pad plus Dual Analog sticks - Form as gamepad to be held within hands - Rumble and lots of it, it should shake my hands like I was holding a race wheel - Can be transformed to a light gun or something that feels as a gun with a trigger (yes I know but I can dream of it lol) So it would be a mix of below images I found of products that come close.

I'll pm you the screenshots and info in about 10 minutes from now

Windows 10 64 bit latest updates edit: Windows 10 Home edition to be exact

It really was wasn't it, I realized this many times before. Many things where pioneering as well, like consoles, computers, candy experiments (not sure if all that candy was good for us though, damn), special effects, amazing films geared towards kids, toy lines you name it. We are lucky people to have been there, now it is our duty to rub it in/conserve the good stuff lol

So for the time being it works like it did before by disabling the startup screens and switch on the DPI system settings for the marquee to work and the main monitor in 1080p, me happy but maybe something for you to iron out, let me know if I need to try out things for testing.
-
I tried what you suggested, turned off X-Mouse and Dual Monitor Tools, unchecked DPI scaling, set the default Big Box theme back and rebooted (still have fore mentioned third party software disabled). In Big Box settings when I switch the monitor settings it only shows activity on screen 1, nothing is happening for screen 2, even when I choose main monitor to screen 2 the image is only displayed on the main monitor, I do see a resolution switch of the main monitor from 3840x2160 to 2560x1080 (which is the native resolution of screen 2 the marquee monitor) so it does recognize the right res but on the wrong screen. As for the mouse pointer I narrowed it down when the pointer starts changing, this is at the moment the startup screen kicks in, the pointer changes quickly to a more blackish like loading icon, hard to explain the looks of it but when it changes it seems to be stuck on this change after and during big box.
-
I tried what you suggested, hiding/unhiding mouse but this didn't make a difference, I turned off X-Mouse and another program called Dual Monitor Tools which locks mouse pointer on main monitor (seeing as they both do something with the mouse pointer) after closing these I tried Big Box again but it made no difference. I found something of the core of this problem though which makes matters worse for me personally as I used to use a work-around solution for another issue, I'll try to explain it as best as I can: I have set Override high DPI scaling behavior for Big Box (using right click menu for Big Box icon) some time ago as my marquee monitor doesn't work otherwise. I am running this on a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050, connecting main 4K monitor with HDMI and marquee monitor (2560x1080) from DVI to HDMI, in case it helps the analysis. 1. When set to: "System or System (Enhanced)" I have it set at this option normally, it causes the main 4K monitor to run Big Box in 1080p but with marquee monitor working, since the new 9.2 version the mouse pointer problem occurs while using this setting. Note: Big Box does actually run smoother in scrolling and text scrolling in 1080p on my system than 4K does at the moment. 2. When set to Application: When using this setting the 4K monitor runs in 4K but the marquee monitor is not being used by Big Box, I can see the marquee window minimalized when alt-tabbing in the taskbar on the main monitor but it won't activate on the marquee monitor, no matter what I do, I have tried several suggestions and logic but it doesn't work for me. This setting does not cause the mouse pointer issue. All in all I much prefer situation 1 where Big Box runs in 1080p but the marquee monitor is working, although it's a real pain now with the mouse pointer problem as the few pixels off have become even bigger now (I think it's 200px off now) and I have to use the keyboard to navigate to the mouse options in order to revert it back. Situation 2 is a solution for the time being but I love the marquee screen as much as I love Launchbox/Big Box itself and that is a lot of love! Hope this problem doesn't give you a headache after all the hard work you've just done recently.

I do have a weird thing going on with my mouse pointer after having used Big Box and closed the program, the mouse pointer changed to a more pixelated pointer (as if the pointer itself has changed to a lower resolution) with a bigger shadow outline on the right side, when clicking things it is off by a few pixels, when going to mouse options and selecting the default pointer theme it is back to normal again. Note: I do use the program; X-Mouse Button Control v2.17, on 4K monitor and windows DPI settings are at 200%, I haven't seen this happen in the previous version though.

Thanks, I always forget lol
-
True but I'm deleting mame games all the time as they are self contained (always forget out the top of my head what they call it, non-split?) so it's no problem at all Really like the start up and shutdown themes as well while I thought I could do without these beforehand, now I think I can't anymore lol
-
Wonderful work like always! @Jason Carr I asked you about this extract/copy function before (about selecting .cpp files) but it does work as I hoped, I might not have explained my question in proper english I think as this IS what I was waiting for as I can select and copy the roms from different arcade systems to other folders so I can split them for other platforms/emulators. Thanks brother! \m/
-
Sounds great Jason! Does the new Export/Copy Rom files function also mean we could extract roms from a mame set based on selection of .cpp like Naomi for example so we can separate roms to different platforms/emulators? That would be really awesome! \m/

Thanks guys! I've been off in calculating how long something is going to take me before but I hope I have it right this time; next week or around christmas for the 0ABCDE pack, I have to gather, process and place around 80 different company logos on the set and then check if any games in this range have missing boxes & clear logos still, plus a final check up on the colors and contrast.
-
Thanks bro, good to hear
-
Glad to hear bro thank you, without you this project would'nt have happened!
-
Working to finish the "0ABCDE" pack, definitely not complete yet and I see I still have to correct a few grey levels and saturation within these but consider it as a preview of what the end result will look like, hope to release the pack next week or around christmas. It also includes logo's and artwork previously unavailable, alternative, rare and custom artwork. 0ABCDE_-_Preview.zip

Oh hell yes, Faxanadu! Loved that game and it's soundtrack \m/

This soundtrack blew my mind back in the day, I was especially glad the Megadrive had a headphone jack so I could listen to it without the TV turned on. So many other amazing soundtracks (still discovering them) but this one keeps a special place for me. ps Top Gear on the SNES was quite special.
