Does it give you this error with all games or certain games ? Depending on how old your rom set is the newer version of Mame could need updated roms, more specifically there have been updates with the Capcom CPS2 games and the Qsound bios rom not too long ago.

Nothing has changed with Mame and its command line requirements.

That is why is so curious. The rom set is updated and all games run from Mame ver. 191 if I open the program directly, but if I add the emulator to Launchbox and try to then open the game from there, Mame 191 opens but tells me there are missing files as if the rom was not there. O_O

Do you have the "Extract ROM archives before running" box checked in the "edit emulator" window for the new Mame ? It shouldn't be, having it checked will cause issues ?

Did you set your rom path in the new install of Mame ?

The extract ROM option is not checked, and yes, the path is correct in the new Mame install.

Very strange then if your settings are correct and they load in Mame outside of Launchbox.

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head right now is you may need to re-import your new updated roms replacing your old imported roms in Launchbox.

I’ve just imported a complete set (0.187) I had all the options ticked to skip casino games etc and to create collections. After import I had 1400(ish) games taken from 32000 folders in the rom set. Does this sound right? The only noticeable exclusion I could find was Batman which i subsequently imported as a single file.

1400 is a bit low, last time I did an import it was more like 2800.

Was that with all options ticked as well? It was the approx 60GB set ?

Yeah, mine is 3717, but that has all the sega stuff as well, Naomi sgtv, etc.

I honestly can't remember the exact settings but it was done to remove all the junk and duplicates.

I may of imported clones also on mine. I forget it was a while ago now.

Also I unchecked the skip games that don't work in mame box, as I wanted the sega games and I changed the emu for them after the fact, just wanted Launchbox to create the playlist, so it was a easy bulk change emulator after.

Is launchbox clever enough not to import games I already have in fba and capcom 1-3...?

I believe so, although it does depend on where you are thinking of importing them too. There is a checkbox on import to overite  exsisting games, but it is off by default.

If they are in a separate platform it will import them but if they are in the same platform but under their own playlist it won't unless you force it to import duplicates.

They’re separate platforms - scraped as arcade but it hasn’t duplicated by the looks ?

Alright, after re-importing all the roms... still nothing.

I thought maybe the issue would be Mame's ini file, but the path is correct in there too.

Only with this version of Mame. if I switch the Launchbox setting to use a different version, it works fine. Version 192 is the only one that does this for me. All other games work fine with their respective emulators.
