LaunchBox 13.19 - Beta Thread

Currently investigating a problem with "Clean Up Media".  If I try to use the tool in the current beta - 13.19-Beta-2, LB freezes up / crashes every time.

Going to roll back to 13.18 and try again.

Update:  Rolled back to 13.18 and 'clean up media' works fine.     Going to upgrade back to 13.19-Beta-2 and see if it breaks again.

Update #2: Confirmed.  'Clean up media' is broken in 13.19-Beta-2

Can confirm that "Clean up Media" that @Fursphere mentioned above is freezing and crashing. It literally freezes up LaunchBox when trying to use.

Thanks guys. Most likely related to the .NET 9 update. We'll look into it.

I had an issue where none of my roms or emulators were found (I believe) due to me using relative pathnames (like "..\games\game.rom" ). I had to reinstall 13.18 *and* uninstall the lastest redistributable before it worked again.

I'm guessing it's not related to relative pathnames. You needing to uninstall a redistributable might be a clue. The new beta builds .NET9 into it, so no need to install any extra redistributable to make it work.

It probably isn't the redistributable, but not sure what else to try. I installed 13.19-beta3 and the problem returned right back, and other apps are accessing relative paths fine. Every single emulator and rom are unavailable until I edit details  and update paths to an absolute path.

You know.  I had this same problem.   I just went in and hard set all the path names to fix it without even thinking about it.

Relative path names are pretty dumb in my opinion.  Never put an application in a state where its 'assuming' it knows what you're trying to do.  Always be explicit.

That's true and I get it. But its advertised as a portable application and I use it explicitly as such, so relative paths are still the best for my use case.

Is Game Details stating "Unavailable" or are you getting errors when attempting to play? I've tried relative pathing and not had any issue. Where is LaunchBox installed? Also are you attempting to run LB as administrator? Doing so can cause issues with relative pathing so if are please stop.

If you can, zip up your data folder and send it to me in a PM. That might uncover what is actually going on here.
