Fursphere Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) Currently investigating a problem with "Clean Up Media". If I try to use the tool in the current beta - 13.19-Beta-2, LB freezes up / crashes every time. Going to roll back to 13.18 and try again. Update: Rolled back to 13.18 and 'clean up media' works fine. Going to upgrade back to 13.19-Beta-2 and see if it breaks again. Update #2: Confirmed. 'Clean up media' is broken in 13.19-Beta-2 Edited January 18 by Fursphere Quote
kmoney Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Can confirm that "Clean up Media" that @Fursphere mentioned above is freezing and crashing. It literally freezes up LaunchBox when trying to use. 1 Quote
p bizzy Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I had an issue where none of my roms or emulators were found (I believe) due to me using relative pathnames (like "..\games\game.rom" ). I had to reinstall 13.18 *and* uninstall the lastest redistributable before it worked again. Quote

We'll look into it. 16 hours ago, p bizzy said: I had an issue where none of my roms or emulators were found (I believe) due to me using relative pathnames (like "..\games\game.rom" ). You needing to uninstall a redistributable might be a clue. The new beta builds .NET9 into it, so no need to install any extra redistributable to make it work. It probably isn't the redistributable, but not sure what else to try. I installed 13.19-beta3 and the problem returned right back, and other apps are accessing relative paths fine. Every single emulator and rom are unavailable until I edit details and update paths to an absolute path. Quote

I just went in and hard set all the path names to fix it without even thinking about it. Relative path names are pretty dumb in my opinion. Never put an application in a state where its 'assuming' it knows what you're trying to do. Always be explicit. Quote

But its advertised as a portable application and I use it explicitly as such, so relative paths are still the best for my use case. Quote
Fursphere Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) If you select an /emulator/ or /rom/ folder that is on the same drive letter as Launchbox, I think it'll automatically choose relative pathing. I wish it wouldn't. Edited January 21 by Fursphere Quote

I've tried relative pathing and not had any issue. Where is LaunchBox installed? Also are you attempting to run LB as administrator? Doing so can cause issues with relative pathing so if are please stop. Quote

The Papaw Posted Thursday at 11:00 AM Posted Thursday at 11:00 AM I was re-doing some roms for my SNK Neo Geo AES collection. Out of the 214 files, and allowing the merging the variations, I wound up with 158 games. It appears to have downloaded artwork decently and this is what the platform shows (only 8 game with no names or anything below them, except 1): After closing and re-opening LB it seems to be showing correctly. Rlad Posted Friday at 03:57 PM Posted Friday at 03:57 PM I just noticed the same thing that was happening with the console icons is also on the star ratings, the blue and yellow dissapears. Quote
huh123 Posted Friday at 04:48 PM Posted Friday at 04:48 PM Unsure if this should be reported here, as it has to do with a user plugin functionality in a current beta release, but it's odd enough I thought I would post it here (and in the plugin's topic as well Virtually all GUI options for Archive Cache Manager is missing in the latest Beta release of Launchbox. Archive Cache no longer appears as an option in the tools dropdown and there's no way (to my knowledge) to access any of the archive cache options from within the interface. The caching functionality still works and the cache badges appear in the game viewer if they are enabled. I rolled back to the latest stable LB version and the option re-appeared in the tools dropdown and I think it was present in the beta releases one or two versions back from the latest beta but didn't confirm. Again, this has to do with a user plugin so I don't know how serious this issue is, but I have always been running the latest beta release of LB and never had the cache option removed in any other releases that I remember. Archive Cache is such an integral part of my setup and I'd hate to see it lose functionality. Quote

If fraganator is still around, it would most likely not be too bad to update that plugin to support .NET 9 moving forward, and we are available to help with any plugin dev that may have any questions about this. 3 hours ago, Rlad said: I just noticed the same thing that was happening with the console icons is also on the star ratings, the blue and yellow dissapears. I installed beta3 on a fresh-out-of-the-box Legion Go gaming handheld and added one rom and it had the same issue, so it shouldnt be something with my particular data. Should also note that by default the 'add folder' function when adding roms does relative paths by default so I'm miffed no one else reported it yet, made me think I might be looking at something wrong 😄. Undertherainbow Posted Saturday at 01:50 PM Posted Saturday at 01:50 PM (edited) There is a bug in image replacing/refresh in new LB I remove specific image, OK. Press refresh selected. All good so far. Now i add new image , OK (refresh or not doesnt matter here, its always the same). Now click (loop sign to check media above game) and instead of showing new image it shows image i deleted instead a new one. And it will keep showing it until i restart LB. Image in my case was 3d box image. P.S it doesnt happen every time. But it happens on some games as if there is a bug in logic Example: Image in preview on right is showing new image. But game media shows Old image Edited Saturday at 02:06 PM by Undertherainbow Quote
Fursphere Posted Saturday at 06:01 PM Posted Saturday at 06:01 PM I may have found a bug this morning, but its a weird one and very hard to re-produce. If I let big box sit in attract mode for awhile (say 1+ hours), then exit big box - sometimes it doesn't send the "exit front end" command to LEDBlinky. LEDBlinky is just left running idle. If you open BB, then immediately close BB, everything works as expected. May be nothing? But I wanted to mention it just in-case. Quote
