  1. @MrSco is it possible that the PCs you are plugging the external drive to have entered sleep mode? By default Windows shuts off external drives when entering sleep or any "low power" or "power saving" mode. Is it possible those have not been shut off and the OS is killing connection to the drive thus causing issues?
  2. Can confirm the report. Thanks for bringing it up. I will take a look into it and see what we can't do to bring that logic back to the new Add/Edit screen.
  3. The first image you are showing us your display name, NOT your URL, they CAN be different. Open the Steam application, in the top headers (Store, Library, etc) click the header that is your profile name. In the screen that opens look on one of side menus to the right of the page and look for a link that says "Edit Profile". Click that link then in the page that opens the third item from the top should say "Custom URL". Put a value in there and then put that same value in LaunchBox when it asks in the import wizard.
  4. The Publisher/Developer entries in the GamesDB should be the name of the entity at the time of the game release. If the entity was later renamed, bought out, closed, etc that should NOT be reflected in the DB entry.
  5. Sorry you are seeing slow downs with the downloads. Typically when I've seen this a firewall or real-time virus scan are the cause. Just so we are clear, should you run into this issue again when you press the "Cancel" button you are both referring to a pop up window will ask if you want to keep everything already downloaded. Simply press yes and you won't lose any progress. Then just run the "Download Metadata and Media" tool against the games again and select the middle option (Do not replace) and it will only download media and metadata that is missing.
  6. Could you post a screenshot of the error you are seeing. Without it helping you solve this will be pretty difficult. I've not heard anyone getting an IL error before so the extra information will be very useful.
  7. How many records are you attempting to update? We are aware the process takes quite some time for a large number of updates. I would try for now updating few entries and see how that fares and go from there.
  8. Want to confirm what you are reporting. Are you having an issue simply that games are being named the same as the rom file or the region listed on the rom, or are you seeing multiple game entries with the same GamesDB ID NOT being combined properly because of having multiple names?
  9. That popup window is because the theme you are using isn't able to find a file it is referencing. The 11.5 beta that is out has some corrections in it that should help more themes work correctly. I would try the beta update and see if that resolves your issues.

Last time I remember hearing about a user experiencing that much issue with the blur it was related to their graphic card and it's driver, if you haven't already try updated your video driver and see if that helps you. Also are you still on 11.2 or are you on the latest now? We use .NET Core for 11.3 and newer which uses slightly different dependencies so it may be possible that that version runs differently (for better or worse) on your system.
  11. Sorry you are having this problem. Could I trouble you to answer the following questions for me? I am trying to track down what may be the culprit for what you are seeing. Does this happen with LaunchBox? Does this happen with Big Box? How are you launching the game? (Double clicking, keyboard shortcut, some other method)

    The proposition of meeting up with some one they don't know online to discuss getting paid for something that could be potentially illegal (depending on what it is you are hoping they do) is a risk most people refuse to take. There are enough guides and people willing to help here on the forum you'd be better served just asking your questions in the appropriate forums.
  14. Was referring to the OS power settings on a USB port, not anything specific to your controller.
  15. Could you follow the steps Koroth provided and let us know what your application path is. From there may be able to help you figure out what is going on.
  16. Bit confused as to what you are seeing. If you have a recent backup (.7z) in your Backups folder you can just extract it to \\Launchbox\Data\ and it should be doing the same thing as the restore via LaunchBox. This all needs to be done while LaunchBox is CLOSED.
  17. Unsure what would be causing this at the moment but can look into. Do you have the power settings on your controller enabled (are on by default)? May help to disable those. May be that your controller port is shut off when first loading, and isn't for subsequent launches.
  18. I do this with my collection for genre's and series. Just change your filter view to Platform Category, then create a Platform Category called "Genres" (or whatever you want it to be). Set it's parent to be the root. Then add playlists to that category for each genre (or whatever field you are doing it for).
  19. Make sure you open Launchbox and turn on debug logging, that will give us the most useful information to attempt to help you out. Also would help to know what OS you are using and what LaunchBox version.

  23. In the page that lists your game, push Ctrl-A to select them all, then right click and mouse over "Set Platform". You can pick between MS-DOS, Windows, and GOG or set your own platform.
  24. At the top of the web page click "Help & Support" and then "Request a feature". Unsure what all is available for us to use as a way to tell that. Interesting idea though. If you could use the feature request people could vote on it and we could see how many would benefit from it.
  25. Do you have any of these issues if that plugin isn't used? Curious if the plugin is manually changing that field to match whatever settings you told it to use.
