  1. Beta 14 is out now with the following: Improvement: The GOG import wizard now allows you to individually choose custom platform names for each game, or update them in batch Improvement: The Big Box Sleep, Reboot, and Shut Down options have been improved to wait until save operations are complete before proceeding (helps prevent rare data corruption possibilities) Fixed: Wikipedia metadata searching has been removed; it's been broken for a while due to a Wikipedia change and never really worked all that great to begin with Added MAME high scores supported to auto-populated playlists Performance has been improved at the end of the import process I'm looking at this beta as a release candidate. Currently planning on releasing 10.12 this coming Monday.
  2. Hi @drewjbx, where are you seeing it? What are you typically doing when it pops up? Does LaunchBox continue to operate properly after closing the dialog?
  3. @TheNewClassics @drewjbx FYI, just added this to the latest beta (out soon): - Improvement: The Big Box Sleep, Reboot, and Shut Down options have been improved to wait until save operations are complete before proceeding (helps prevent rare data corruption possibilities) Thanks for the report. I haven't been able to replicate that, but that would be unrelated to this.
  4. We'd have to build a new caching system in order to make it happen for retro achievements, so that's not going to happen for this release.
  5. Hmm, I suppose we could filter it to only platforms like "MAME" or "Arcade". We could potentially have issues though for people who use custom platform names. We might just have to deal with that for now. This would only happen if the current directory was changed to the emulator's folder, and then something tried to look for images there, which should be an impossibility for the LaunchBox codebase. All I can figure is that this would be caused by a plugin.
  6. @greatgearprices You may want to get in touch with the bezel project guys, as this seems to be an issue that is specific to that project.
  7. It's hard to know exactly what you're running into here. You should be able to import GDI files without issues, and zip files are extracted (if necessary and enabled) when running games. The Android version is still early compared to the desktop, yes. Keep in mind that nearly 10 years of development have gone into LaunchBox and Big Box on the desktop, so the Android experience is not going to be all the way there right away. If you'd like a refund, just let us know.
  8. The only good solution to this would be to include default sort titles on the games database. That would allow them to be at least placed together by default. But as far as renaming game titles to match the franchise, I don't think that would be a good approach.
  9. That shouldn't matter. If you have debug logging turned on, you can check the log file to see what happened. Otherwise, turn it on then try getting an easy high score and check the log file.
  10. Make sure you're logged into the games database under the Cloud menu.
  11. Shouldn't be an issue anymore though, we updated VLC a while back. Windows Media Player is way more outdated than VLC these days.
  12. Thanks all, I've noted these requests/ideas for the next poll.
  13. Any PDF additional apps you add will automatically show up on the pause screen.
  14. You can filter by MAME High Scores Supported as well. However, I don't think we've added it as an option for playlists yet. I'll put that on the list. Yes, the high scores system is exclusive to MAME. It won't work for other emulators. We're using the MAME high scores plugin, as well as hi2txt, which only work with MAME. We can add support later on if high scores solutions are built for other emulators, but that's not something that we can do on our own. It's also worth noting that I wanted to implement it for the MAME Retroarch core, but after looking into it, it's not possible to do securely with the anti-cheat measures in place. So uploading high scores will require actual MAME for this release.
  15. I found a way to cache things that should hopefully speed this up. Will go into beta 14.
  16. I see. I'm guessing you're using a Windows DPI setting that is greater than 200%?
  17. I looked into this; it's taking longer than it used to because we added the "combine with existing games" option, which is on by default. It has to process all existing games for the platform, which does take some time. On my system it's around 5 seconds to process a platform with 1,000 games, but I guess on lower-end systems it could take a lot longer. I don't immediately see any way to speed that part up, but I'll take a deeper look here at some point.
  18. There's a lot that is done at the end of the process. It's all necessary and I currently don't know of an easy way to speed it up. I can add it to the list though to see what I can do.
  19. Beta 13 is out now with the following: You can now click on or select different players (including yourself), to see a new popup that lists all of that player's high scores for all games, including their placements on the community game boards (in both LaunchBox and Big Box) LaunchBox high scores popups no longer nest on top of each other Added MAME high scores support to the old default LaunchBox theme
  20. Ah, yes, almost forgot. I'll get that in soon.
  21. Can you screenshot me any issues like that that you can see across LaunchBox and Big Box? Screenshots will make stuff like that a lot easier to figure out and address.
  22. Yeah, I thought about just opening it up in the same window, but then there'd be no "Back" kind of functionality. It'd be easy to close out of windows before opening the new ones, but I kind of liked keeping previous ones open.
  23. Beta 12 is out now with the following: Three new tabs in the high scores popups (in both LaunchBox and Big Box) for Most Popular Games, Trending Games, and Top Players (Global Leaderboard) You can now click on or select a game from Most Popular or Trending Games to view the scores for that game as well Filter values for MAME High Scores Supported Various fixes/improvements for the high scores popups Hopeful fix for @Rincewind's reported error (above) Hopeful fix for @TheNewClassics reported text getting cut off (above) The new tabs really increase the competition and help a lot for games discovery, so I'm glad we got them in.
