For one reason or another, your default web browser is either not set or set to a missing browser @vipermetcalf. If you're using Windows 10: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/make-chrome-firefox-default-browser-windows-10

Hi @Lp10, thanks for the purchase. Please email us at support@unbrokensoftware.com and we'll get it figured out. Could have been a typo in the email address, or maybe the emails are just ending up as spam. Thanks!

Not currently. One of the items from the poll is support for multiple levels of custom nested folders/filters. That is planned for soon.
-
I believe this is actually the first time I've heard that requested. We can certainly add it in at some point (it might be a good item to put on the next community poll).

You can always take a look under Help > Changelog.

I see; yeah, the property is not currently a proper binding, so it won't update correctly when it's used in a XAML binding. Hopefully I can address this soon.

Thanks Spidey; I've fixed this for the 8.7 official release, which should be out shortly.

@Aevans0001 It does not put the parent ROM as the main ROM and the clones as additional; instead, it uses the region prioritization options that you specify in the wizard: See "Region to Prioritize" above. It's not ordering them by the first one it finds; it's ordering them by region. I do recognize though though that there are some improvements that can be made yet, such as ignoring hacks and prototypes when first looking for the main ROM to use.

So I'm still not exactly sure how that happens, @Spidey077. If you would be willing to zip up and PM me your LaunchBox\Data folder, I can look into it.
-
I will add this to the list to fix, though I think we'll wait until the 8.8 betas as I need to get the 8.7 fix release out.
-
I think we'll probably wait until we implement the full folder solution. In the mean time, I think you can just create two separate playlists.
-
This is something that I think is currently missing iirc. Hint, hint to plugin developers, it would be pretty useful to build a plugin control to be able to pull custom field info. Otherwise, it is on my list.
-
It is pretty strange @Grila. I think I would have to see the code and play with it to try and figure it out.

Beta 4 is out now with separate options for showing playlists in the list of platforms and/or underneath a platform category: This way, we can please both folks who want it the old way with them listed under platforms as well as folks who only want them listed under the Arcade platform category. I think the latter makes the most sense, because the genre playlists are Arcade-specific. Of course, you can set up your playlists however you like. If you delete and recreate your playlists though, they will now be configured to only show up under the Arcade platform category and not in the general platforms list. I still plan to release 8.7 official in the next few days, assuming the issues are confirmed to be solved and nothing new comes up.
-
Okay, I did a test with my Arcade platform myself, and I can confirm that the CPU usage does go up for around 10 seconds or so while it saves the Arcade.xml file and does some other cleanup stuff. It does seem to be longer with bigger platforms. As far as why it would be taking multiple minutes though, I still don't have any good ideas on that. So I'm at a loss currently, as your hardware doesn't seem like it should be performing that poorly.

Ah, I see more of where you're going with this now. We use the catver.ini, mame.ini, languages.ini, nplayers.ini, and series.ini files behind the scenes to populate the metadata that is used when importing MAME games. Initially I thought about requiring users to download these files themselves (most of them in fact do not come with MAME), but that seemed to be way too difficult/annoying for most users, so that idea was thrown out quickly. Most of the metadata that is used when importing MAME games comes from these files, and very little comes from the games database. There are more files we could use (such as history.dat), and we may do that at some point in a future release. We do our best to cater to the average user, and the average user does not have the knowledge nor the setup in place already to manage all of that properly, with the media in the proper folders and such. It's certainly easy enough to change your folder paths in LaunchBox to match MAME's for the arcade platform, or just copy the files over. I don't envision us taking this approach in the future, because our goal is to make it as easy as possible for the masses, not to pigeon-hole things into existing solutions.

Okay. I'm guessing the best solution then is for Grila to make sure that no default colors are being used. That's my guess at least without looking at any code.
-
You can bind to the IsInGameDetails property.
-
If you use the Sort Title field, make sure that every entry is unique. If you use the same entries, LaunchBox will just randomly sort items that are the same. In other words, if you want all consoles under consoles, then the Sort Title field should be "Consoles Nintendo Entertainment System", "Consoles Sega Genesis", etc.
-
Hmm; that doesn't look like it will be easy to solve. Hey @alec100_94, are you using WPF in your plugin?
-
This is a known issue. It seems to work perfectly fine on some systems but not on others, and I have yet to figure out why. It may be a Steam or Steam API issue of some sort.

Alright, so I recognize that the playlists with platforms stuff is confusing, and there's been confusion as to where they should or should not show up. It shouldn't be very difficult to provide another option to specify whether each playlist shows up in platform categories and/or the platforms list, so that's what I'll do. Update coming.
