  1. This is in line with the same types of things we experienced back when we were dealing with all the VLC freeze-ups and developing the VLC engine for Big Box. Most likely it has to do with disposing and/or initializing VLC videos and the order that things are initialized. We have some stupid complicated code in place for the official Big Box code that ensures that everything happens in the right order. I'll share that code with @eatkinola to see if we can resolve it. I would still like to integrate the plugin code with Big Box though.
  2. Where are you looking for them in Big Box?
  3. It might be worth trying Retroarch instead. Other than that, I haven't tested that stuff myself (yet) so I'm not sure.
  4. My guess is that it's a Windows DPI issue (incompatible with older emulators). You might have to use Retroarch instead or use a different NES emulator that supports it, if another one is available.
  5. Question for you guys. I've been testing the 7.15 official release for stability on three separate machines for days now. Shortly after I released 7.15 I somehow managed to get it to force close once. However, I've been running it for days since then and I haven't been able to get it to do that again at all. A Windows Update ran on that machine after the force close, so I'm wondering if maybe Microsoft fixed a bug or something. Has anyone seen any Big Box force closes since the official release? Please keep in mind that there are a few themes out there (especially older versions) that do cause their own lockups (due to one of the plugins), so it's important to note what theme and version of the theme that you're running if you do run into one.
  6. Yes, something like that is planned, though I need to do a bit of restructuring in order to make it happen. It's not exactly easy due to dynamic auto-populating playlists which make it difficult to quickly recognize when they've been changed. This is already possible just by going to all games and choosing selecting them all, then running the wizard. In the future I would like to make this more of an automated process, but for now it should work fine just to run the wizard with all games selected. Yeah, I think perhaps Download Metadata and Media is not always updating platform metadata like it should. I'll look into that. But yes, it's easy to update community star ratings for one platform just by selecting all games for that platform and running the wizard.
  7. Certainly a possibility for the future @Xirvet. I'll probably add that to the next poll.
  8. Hi @Dan, that probably would be a good idea. I'll add that to my list, though unfortunately I can't make it a high priority currently.
  9. This is something on my list to address, though I am slightly afraid of the performance implications of fixing it.
  10. Not sure why this might be, but it seems to be working fine for people. Did you run the Download Metadata and Media wizard?
  11. I see. The way it's supposed to work is that the music is supposed to play once the game is selected, and then when you go into the game details page it should just keep playing. Is the music playing when it's first selected (before going to the details)? Does it stop after that?
  12. Please create a separate post and we can help you out. That's not likely a bug; we'll also need more information on what emulator you're using and your emulator configuration.
  13. Thanks, @Einherjar. Yes, this is an issue, but there's not a lot we can do about it, outside of guesswork. There's no way to identify a game between LaunchBox and Retro Achievements other than via the name of the game. So if we can't identify a match by guessing, then we're basically out of luck. The only other option would be to allow you to manually match them up, which may be a possibility going forward.
  14. Yes, it backs up every time a new save is made (when a change has been made) of a particular file, which is pretty much how it should work. I have no idea why an emulator would ever just disappear from LaunchBox, but since that hasn't ever been reported by anyone else before, I'm guessing there's something we're just not understanding here.
  15. What views and themes specifically are you using?
  16. Most definitely. Also, for all the folks not yet using LaunchBox.
  17. I want Crying Tom Cruise as our mascot for LaunchBox.
  18. Looks amazing @ray233. I can certainly answer any specific questions, though sadly my schedule would not allow building the theme from scratch myself. Hopefully one of our awesome theme developers will be interested in helping though. You could chime in on this thread here and get some attention to the post:
  19. Have you guys tried the 7.15 release (just came out today)? I did fix a related bug. LaunchBox currently should work properly on multi-monitor setups with different resolutions and DPI settings, but may not be perfect when dragging between different monitors with different DPI settings. Please let me know any specific issues you guys are still seeing with 7.15.
  20. I did fix a similar issue for multi-monitor setups with different resolutions for 7.15, which came out today, so I expect that will resolve your issue @Lulicious60.
  21. Do you mean platforms metadata? I *think* it will already do this if you just Download Metadata and Media for that platform.
  22. Yes, this is by design, though I can see how you might want it to work for Windows games. At the time, the thought was that Windows games shouldn't ever really move to new locations, though with relative paths the paths can change, so that makes sense.
  23. There's unfortunately still a bug in the retroachievements.org API. Scott over there is working on a fix for it. Sega Genesis and Master System and I think one other platform are affected.
  24. Hmm, okay. I'm still testing on my various machines over here. I'll see if I can replicate anything there, though I've been using the platform categories in my current testing and haven't found anything yet. I did fix a very rare but possible crash bug before this official release that had to do with prioritize music over video audio; do you have that enabled?
  25. And the official release is out.
