Super Famicom - Super Nintendo back and forth
Jason Carr replied to moppedz's topic in Contributions
Sorry for the trouble here, guys. I will be getting back to the games database early next week and we can combine platforms, add alternate names, etc. -
No worries, glad it's working at least.
-
Hmm, maybe it's not properly accepting YouTube shortlinks. It should automatically put the video in there if you just put in the full YouTube URL directly in the text (no tags or anything).
-
Yeah, it's stuck there though for the time being because I'd have to reinvent the wheel to move it (figures).
-
For new posts, that should work correctly. Unfortunately the old posts that were transferred over didn't automatically show up that way though. I have that on my plate. I assume that's what you mean @niglurion? By the way, I just added a dark theme that I'm really liking. You should be able to switch the theme in the footer now.
-
Just added a great new Dark theme guys. There should be an option to change the theme in the footer. You might find a minor issue or two, just let me know if you do. I'm liking it though so I think I'll probably stick with it myself. It's certainly easier on the eyes.

Great to hear. Sorry if it just hitched a bit, I just did a big update.
-
Killer! Thanks @niglurion! Great to see the multi-download stuff in use too.

Show platform details and platform notes separately
Jason Carr replied to CriticalCid's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
Hi Cid, I'll be doing a tutorial on data bindings soon. Unfortunately it's not as easy just replacing the name of the binding, as there has to be a property in the model (the code) that matches up to the binding. It sounds like we may need some new properties in the code itself in order to get you what you need (until we add proper plugin support, at least). I think all you'll really need though is a property for the Notes as well as the Details, which is really easy to add. I've put that on my short list. I also need to figure out how you'd be able to call your own .xaml files, as I don't think the binding method will work. That's gonna take some further research I think. -
Thanks @Zeromod. Yeah, we switched pretty much everything out.
-
Hi @lordmonkus, my apologies but I think there's still some confusion. Up at the top of the site in the blue menu there a link for Videos. That's what I meant for the new Videos section; can you post the video there? A forum topic is automatically created when videos are posted in the new Videos section.

It would be happening whenever you press whatever button is mapped to "Page Down" in the Big Box options, not the physical Page Down button on your keyboard. Unfortunately we do not provide phone support, but I will look to get this issue fixed ASAP. Hopefully tomorrow for the next beta. The DirectX install is something that happens pretty much any time you install any modern games on your computer, so it certainly seems like it'd be safe enough. Still, sorry to hear about all the trouble.
-
Looks like I may have a glitch, actually. Looks like it's happening when you press the Page Down button?
-
Thank you @Riffman81. @ALIE (proto), (Beta), (Unl), that does make sense. We can add that stuff in here at some point. I do have plans for better region handling as well.
-
Awesome to hear. Thanks @Jazzphone.
-
Nice, Monkus. Can you put this in the new videos section as well? I know it's not directly LaunchBox-related but I'd say emulator tutorials should definitely be covered there.
-
It was the impending doom of all those spam posts you threatened!
-
Sadly no, not at this point. Thankfully though you should be able to delete the games but leave the images and media and the media will re-show up if you re-import and just uncheck all the downloads.

If you've been on the fence about EmuMovies Premium, he also explains that as well. The stories today are all about AM2R, or Another Metroid 2 Remake that just came out and already has a DMCA take down notice from Nintendo, about the Custom made Mini NES's that utilize Raspberry Pi Zero's or Raspberry Pi 3's, and long lost TurboGrafx 16 (PC Engine) ports that are being shown from a former Tengen employee. This month in gaming, Metroid was released for the Famicom Disk System in Japan and was later ported, re-released and remade for several consoles and handhelds. Makes sense guys. This should be relatively easy to do with the new forums system, so I'll add that to my list.
-
Thanks for that run-through @Zombeaver. All makes sense; we'll definitely add automatic m3u support here soon. The trick will be to do it only when we should (when supported by the platform and emulator). I think we can wait to do it until launch though, so at that point we can just check if it's supported and if it is, automatically make the m3u.
