What if you go back to a previous platform that you changed, @Drybonz? Platforms without a previous value set will keep whatever you used last, but platforms that you've set previously should remember what you set them to.

Mass Update Media for already imported games?
Jason Carr replied to jammer241's topic in Troubleshooting
Yup, and if you want to do everything just make sure your list has all the games in it, then Ctrl+A and use the wizard the same way. -
Thanks David, I'll be focusing on these issues early next week.
-
Yeah, this is really tough to classify. I'm tempted to put those few games under Sega CD, but I looked at the box art and Sega clearly calls it Sega CD 32X. So it looks like we'll be adding a platform. I have a bunch of platforms to add so I'll add this to the list. Thanks @jadekitten.
-
Do you have the sidebar open to the Platforms list?
-
It should already work perfectly in LaunchBox, @Drybonz. So if you're only using LaunchBox I'm not sure what the problem might be.
-
Hmm, I might need your help to troubleshoot this further, @Drybonz. I just tested everything and it seems to work fine for me. Oh, are you in LaunchBox or Big Box? Currently it only "saves" it in LaunchBox, but once it's saved in LaunchBox it keeps the same setting in Big Box as well.

Sure, not sure if the Arcade one is really 100% complete; it probably depends on whatever pack from Hyperspin Circo used. Also, we're working on fixing up the EmuMovies search engine because files are occasionally missed and unmatched, so that is probably part of the issue.
-
Wow, Elliot! That is awesome! This is a much needed feature so I'm sure many, many users will appreciate it. There's a new, proper Downloads section in the blue menu area at the top of the forums site, so it would be best if you can upload it as an official download there. I'm about to go add a new category for third-party apps and plugins. Thanks!
-
Hmm, that should be working as far as I know, shinra. Haven't tried yet with cue files though so maybe there's an issues with cue files.
-
Hi @Drybonz, Circo now has all of the Hyperspin wheel images in EmuMovies, so that's the best source for them.
-
Most likely this is because the images are still caching. Let me know if you're still seeing performance issues after all the images are cached. Also, is it only the CoverFlow views that are sluggish?
-
Hi shinra, currently the file names need to have (Disc 1) or (Disk 1) or (CD 1) in them. How are your files named?

BigBox Repeats Audio of Videos Until it Crashes
Jason Carr replied to Sepulchre's topic in Troubleshooting
Thank you @Sepulchre, that's very helpful. I'll be looking into this on Monday. -
Thanks guys. Great to hear that the k-lite pack solves the WMP playback issues. @Mute64 I remember one person reported once that for some reason the alpha search wasn't working for one of their platforms, but I was never able to replicate it. Can you send me your LaunchBox.xml file? jason@unbrokensoftware.com @kmoney2315, let me know if you find a good solution for that; the ESRB intros drive me nuts too. Legally I'm not sure if we can automatically remove them in LaunchBox but it'd be great if there was a way to manually do it in batch after they download.
-
Alright, I went ahead and put this beta out despite the fact that I'm having trouble getting the Windows Media Player video playback engine to play the .webm video files properly. It's really dumb because I can play them when I open them up in WMP manually, but only the second time open them. Facepalm. Lol. I've tried changing the file extension from .webm to .avi, .mpg, and .mp4, and I can get them to play, but they play without audio. Fail again. Of course they work perfectly fine in VLC. I'm also sure you could install a codec to get them to play fine in WMP, but ideally we need it to work out of the box. This beta also should fix the CoverFlow views not remembering the selected game issue, and has an updated French translation thanks to @Wattoo.

Awesome, great to hear. Really appreciate what you're doing. I'll get back to you on the proper gif support early next week at the latest.

By the way, @niglurion, I hope you don't mind but I'm going to feature this theme and your video in the email that goes out tomorrow.

BigBox Repeats Audio of Videos Until it Crashes
Jason Carr replied to Sepulchre's topic in Troubleshooting
Thanks for that. If you're able to do any testing to figure out if it's specific to certain views and/or when the background videos are enabled, that'd be wonderful. Otherwise I will try and reproduce it with those specific views. -
Thanks @Rincewind. Yes, there are image quality settings in Big Box that might help. And yes, it's important to wait until all of the images are cached before judging the overall performance.
-
Hmm, yeah, it seems like you should have decent performance with that hardware. The first thing I would try is to make sure you have the latest version of .NET installed, version 4.6.1. Also, unfortunately Windows 7 may be less performant than Windows 8 or Windows 10 due to lots of performance Microsoft has made in the later OS releases. That said, I wouldn't think it would be that drastic, either. Let me know if you're already up to date and we can dive deeper. Also, thanks for the purchase. I hope we can get it figured out but rest assured that if we can't, I'm happy to send you out a refund.

Yeah, the good news is I now have a means of gathering all that Steam game data. I still have to put in the work to be able to actually integrate it all, but it's all accessible. So sooner or later we can download other stuff from Steam as well. At least until Gabe Newell sues us for taking all of their bandwidth. I have the Steam trailer downloads working great but I'm having issues getting the .webm files to play properly in Windows Media Player, figures.
