  1. Yeah, correct. I absolutely love VLC and do not blame it for these issues. It has better video compatibility out of the box than most anything.
  2. Just put out a new beta guys that I'm hoping will resolve this issue. There was a memory leak with the VLC video playback engine as well as some other issues that I was finally able to discover and address. I'd appreciate if you guys could test this as much as possible and let me know if you're still seeing any further issues. Thanks!
  3. It's not VLC so much as the libraries we use to connect with VLC. That said, software development can be extremely difficult and these things happen, so stuff like this isn't out of the ordinary.
  4. Thank you Swiss. We have two threads going here now that are basically about the same issue. Here's the other thread: I just put out a new beta that resolves a lot of issues with the VLC video playback engine, including a memory leak. I'm not certain that it has anything to do with the CoverFlow performance issues here, but it's worth testing to see. I'll be back to this issue tomorrow.
  5. Thank you David. I just put out a new beta (6.8-beta-3) that fixes a bunch of issues with the VLC video playback engine, including a memory leak. However, I'm not convinced that the issues in this thread are necessarily related. Regardless, if you guys can do some testing to see, that'd be greatly appreciated. I'll be back to this issue tomorrow.
  6. Alright, new beta is out. This beta fixes Mute's alphanumeric index issues, which were caused by culture-specific characters. More importantly, though, I fixed a number of issues with the VLC video playback engine, including a memory leak. It seems like I've been back and forth with the VLC engine forever, but it feels like we're finally nearing the end, so I'm grateful for that. Any testing that you guys can do with the VLC engine would be appreciated.
  7. But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.” Matthew 8:20 Received a reminder today that following Jesus is not always easy or comfortable. The cost of following Christ is high, and contains no earthly rewards or security. Sometimes I am fooled into thinking that I am guaranteed earthly blessings by following the Lord; I am not. But the value of being Christ's disciple is higher than any benefits I could receive here on earth.
  8. Hi guys, yes, you have to manually change over the images in order to get everything to match up with this theme. I am currently working on having themes support image packs and such so at some point in the near future this will be a whole lot easier.
  9. Sure, whoops. I do know the difference between the Steam Link and Steam controller lol. Either way, I still don't have a Steam controller either.
  10. I see, @cammelspit. Unfortunately I'm not going to be a direct help because I don't happen to have a Steam Link.
  11. Hi @Styphelus, this is a known problem area right now (non-MAME arcade platforms specifically). It's pretty high up on my priority list to improve imports for non-MAME arcade systems.
  12. Welp, hrm. What is the end goal, @cammelspit? You ultimately want to be able to launch your games using LaunchBox directly from Steam without using the LaunchBox interface?
  13. Hi @Jazzphone, yes, that is on purpose. Wikipedia states that the official platform is "written as NeoGeo" with no space. It bugs me too though, I have to admit.
  14. Oh, ugh, probably. Good to know @CliveBarker. I hadn't thought of that, hopefully nothing breaks. I might be able to go in and fix those, not sure.
  15. The only problem is we end up with lots of duplicate games, really. Other than that there really is no issue.
  16. One more thing to note, going forward (hopefully next week) I'll be working on adding Regions to games so that you can specify the regions where a game was released. We'll also be adding alternate titles with associated regions as well as adding multiple release dates with associated regions.
  17. Today we merged Super Nintendo and Super Famicom into the same platform. In the future we will be adding regions and alternate titles (with regions) to games to better make the distinction between regions.
  18. Basically the hesitation was surrounding the need for a way to identify ScummVM-supported games. People just wanted to be able to keep them separate in their collections. I still don't fully agree, but didn't want to start a war at the time.
  19. Hey everybody, just got done with my work today on the LaunchBox Games Database. Going forward I am hoping to spend one day a week on LaunchBox Games Database development. In the live stream this morning, we worked primarily on managing the region and platform data. We added a bunch of new regions to the regions lists, as well as merged, removed, and added some platforms: Merged SNES and Super Famicom Merged Genesis, Mega Drive, and Nomad Merged Game Boy and Super Game Boy Renamed Neo Geo platforms to SNK Neo Geo Renamed Daphe to LaserDisc Renamed NEC SuperGrafx to PC Engine SuperGrafx Added Nintendo Game & Watch Added SNK Neo Geo CD Added Nintendo Satellaview Added Taito Type X Added XaviXPORT Added Mattel Hyperscan Added Game Wave Family Entertainment System Added Sega CD 32X Probably more that I forgot about Then this afternoon I just added support for adding new developers and publishers (yay!). The interface is exactly the same as it was before but the text boxes will now let you add a new developer or publisher if the item that you've typed does not exist. Finally, we're still seeing some issues with games not getting deleted after game deletions successfully make their way through the moderation process. Thankfully though no data is ever lost because I am able to go in and manually delete these games after the fact. So we are now caught up on game deletions but I have not yet fixed the underlying issue. I added error logging to the site to catch these errors and figure out exactly what is going on for next week. Thank you everyone for your continued support and work on the LaunchBox Games Database. I realize we still have a way to go to make things ideal (and that it's been a while) but things should be improving quickly from here on out.
  20. I tried to remove the ScummVM platform earlier in the live stream this morning but the community raised a big stink about it lol. So it's still there for now.
