  1. Hey all, good news! I have new forums that are very close to ready to go live. We will be going live with them tomorrow. If you'd like to help beta test the new forums, hit us up in the development live stream tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM PST. I will be providing exclusive early testing access to everyone in the live stream on Twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/jasondavidcarr See you guys tomorrow! :)
  2. Hi @Styphelus, I took at look at your PM, sorry I haven't responded. Thanks for the Taito package. I need to set some time aside to get it all imported in batch. :)
  3. Hi @albur, this is on my list but unfortunately we don't have a good solution for it currently. Windows games are very difficult to automatically import, sadly. For now you can manually add any missing games and just browse to the application's EXE. Sorry for the late reply here.
  4. I'm sorry it's taking me so long @dukeemu, but I need to get your existing translation package in there first. This is first thing on my list for tomorrow. :)
  5. Yeah, sorry I don't have a good solution for you, @Doitsujin. In LaunchBox we have ways around it with Use All Controllers and I check the controller names as well as the IDs. But as far as forcing them to work with emulators, I'm not sure. It's possible that you could somehow get around it by using Xpadder or similar, though.
  6. Hi subatomic, we do have a ticket for it somewhere on the Bitbucket I think. You can get to it by clicking Feature Request in the header. I tend to implement the most-voted tickets first, so feel free to vote on it. Let me know if you can't find it. :)
  7. Thanks guys. I believe this can be done with the XAML themes, yes, but it's possible that you might run into a hitch or two. I do plan to put some work into some additional themes here myself soon as well, so I'll see if this is one I can tackle. :)
  8. Thanks Mute. Apparently I broke my fix for the CoverFlow views. I'm seeing the same thing; added to my short list.
  9. Hi @FRITO, sadly we don't have a good solution for that currently, though I do have an item on my list to add an option to move all the folders at once. Not sure if there's a Bitbucket ticket for it not, though, so feel free to add a ticket using the Feature Request link in the header. I tend to implement the features with the most votes first so be sure to vote on it if you do add it. :)
  10. Yes, there are a couple things we should add eventually (I think we do have tickets for them too on Bitbucket). One is an option to prioritize a particular region for the images, and the other is an option to choose a default image. :)
  11. Hehehehehe, monkus, be careful. I can't resist you much longer.
  12. Hi @fromlostdays, the image types are now platform-specific for 6.7. So as you switch between platforms, it should switch you to the last image type used for that platform. Image priorities are also available for each image type in the LaunchBox options, but unfortunately those are not currently platform-specific. There is currently no way to set the image type differently for a single game.
  13. I agree this one will be a good feature to add. Thanks guys. :)
  14. Hi @UncleDaddySwiss, you'd probably be best to hit up @mathflair as he built LaunchBox Tools. :)
  15. Gotcha, thanks R4032. That really helps to pinpoint the issue. David, are you still seeing this when using WMP?
  16. Thanks, that helps. I'll dive in and see what I can do. Sounds like it might be because the previous views aren't getting disposed properly or something similar. It's odd that I can't replicate that no matter what I do, though. What version of Windows are you guys running? What version of the .NET framework do you have installed?
  17. Thanks shadowfire. I assume you're still seeing this in 6.7?
  18. Thanks guys, we'll get the issues fixed. For what it's worth, the RAM cache setting only applies to LaunchBox and isn't used in Big Box. It took quite a bit of testing but I did just run into an issue...not sure if it's related or not. Got a message box saying I don't have write permissions to the LaunchBox folder, which obviously isn't true. Can you guys test to see if this is only happening while images are popping in/caching? I expect that it's most likely happening while it's building the cache. Do the issues go away after the cache is completely built? If blank images are coming up, that should mean that it's building the cache. However, they shouldn't randomly disappear either. Are you guys 100% certain that images are disappearing when they shouldn't be?
  19. Alright, I *think* I have this fixed. I have deleted all of the games that were approved for deletion, so we're up to date, and I think I've fixed it going forward. Let me know if anyone is still seeing a problem. :)
  20. I agree with @8Phantasm. Retroarch really does provide the best experience for many platforms. However, that said, it is far from the easiest emulator to get set up, so it might not be the best one to start with. It's also not the only way to do those platforms. Nestopia, for example, works really well on NES. So I think I would start with a simple emulator like Nestopia and then move on from there to Retroarch or whatever else you're interested in.
  21. Thank you @shinra358, that is a good point. I'm gonna go ahead with the release as-is but we can come back to that soon. @Zombeaver, thanks for working through that stuff. I've learned that MAME is just problematic across the board because you can't simulate any keypresses for it, but thankfully MAME does provide the option to have a button combination close itself out, so you can customize the MAME config to handle it with the same buttons instead. Going to be putting the official release out very shortly. :)
  22. Smiley confusion!!!! :P
  23. Thanks, PS4, we definitely want to go there but I'd have to sacrifice too much for the desktop client currently in order to get there. But maybe in a year or so, after the desktop clients are really well fleshed out, we might look to tackle an Android app. Or, if for some reason we see crazy growth and can afford to hire another developer, that'd be great too.
  24. New beta is out guys with a ton of bug fixes from the live stream this morning as well as my work this afternoon. This is the release candidate for 6.7, which I hope to put out tomorrow. Here's what I fixed for this beta (at least most of it): - Fixed: Videos could not be downloaded or replaced when they were selected and paused in the game details sidebar (was throwing an error) - Fixed: Scrape As platforms were using command-line parameters for "Scrape As" platform in the associated platforms for emulators instead of the proper platform name - Fixed: The mouse cursor in Big Box was automatically showing back up when switching between views and "hide mouse cursor" was enabled - Fixed: When "Auto-Play Music" is enabled and "Auto-Play Videos" is disabled in LaunchBox, music was not auto-playing if a video was available for the game - Fixed: Manually playing a video using the Windows Media Player engine in LaunchBox was not stopping any playing music - Fixed: The DOSBox configuration editor was not populating screen resolutions properly - Fixed: The default platform clear logos were being saved to disk as JPGs instead of PNGs - Fixed: Windows Media Player videos are now centered in Big Box in the games views (for vertical videos); however there's a glitch with the VLC playback engine so VLC videos are still not centered Let me know if anyone runs into any glaring issues before we put out the release tomorrow. :)
  25. Awesome, David! That does look great! There should be a way to fade in the wheel, but that will be a complicated thing to play with, and may require some actual code. I'll be putting out some more tutorials here soon (one will be on animations soon, which will help), so we'll get there sooner or later. I have a feeling I'll have to custom code that myself though.
