Hi Dany, sure; send me the details to jasondavidcarr at gmail. Per the metadata, again, it's a better solution for us to have all the data locally than to use an external API. That said, I can see it as a good option to add, especially for images.
If you're getting that message, then yes, that is definitely the problem. There are path length limitations in Windows, even with NTFS. It's really stupid that that problem still exists, but it does still exist in Windows 10.
The only thing I can recommend is moving things out to a parent folder or a shorter folder path to solve that problem :/
Good question to add here! LaunchBox caches the images, and only updates the cache for certain games when it feels it needs to. Go to Tools > Refresh All Images. :)
Hexxxer, try disabling EmuMovies options to see if that fixes the problem for you. We apparently do still have some issues there that I am working to resolve.
^^^^^^ THIS. Thanks, kmoney.
We're trying to gain ground. Ex-Hyperspin users are the biggest way to do that, and we need to appeal to them in every way possible, as soon as possible.
Hi @Short Fuse, thanks for reporting this. I am not 100% sure, but I *think* this is caused by the "Root Folder" setting on the game. If I recall correctly, LaunchBox will mount the root folder, and then CD to the directory of the game's EXE. Try experimenting with that setting (or clearing it out). It's in the Folder tab when editing the game.
Hi @bjwest, agreed, it would be good to have easier to follow instructions. I think that was the original intent of the wiki, but unfortunately it never really got populated with much data. Brad's right though, we're trying to make the YouTube videos easy to follow and also trying to cover everything eventually.
Thanks Dany. I actually did the same thing; the LocalDB in LaunchBox is a complete copy of all the metadata from TheGamesDB that I distribute with LaunchBox. That said, it would be great to have a mirror of all the images; obviously I can't distribute the images with LaunchBox. So yeah, definitely interested in that. :)
Sigh. Every time this happens I'm reminded why I keep wanting to build a database of our own. But @TracyPoff with MobyGames is working on an API, so hopefully we'll be able to move on from this stuff sooner rather than later. That can't happen soon enough.
Hi Darren, we've discovered a bug recently with the EmuMovies part of the importer. Every once in a while it seems to get stuck on particular games and give up. Try updating to the latest beta to see if it helps. Otherwise, for now you can uncheck all the EmuMovies options and it should work fine. We're working on getting it fixed.
Thanks @scree, I'll look into that, as well as the other issue above.
The merch store looks like it's all fixed up finally guys. Probably open it up officially tonight or tomorrow:

I'm looking for ideas for custom shirts. Thinking maybe we should hold a contest for shirt ideas, and if we use your idea we'd just send you a free shirt. I'll probably make that official here soon, but feel free to contribute some ideas here in the mean time if you'd like. :)
Hey, @Bedwyr, good to see you. Yes, it is certainly possible, which is why it's on the short list right now (per the most recent email I sent out). Hoping to get to at least give it a shot before the next official release.
What I'd ultimately like to see is just to *include* the metadata for most systems with LaunchBox, so that it automatically recognizes anything you can throw at it and automatically has the metadata for it locally. We're a ways off from that, but that's the direction I'd ultimately like to take. Of course we can't really include images that way, though.
