  1. Drybonz, agreed. I'm not sure why it would be needed as it should be automatic. Though there might be situations where it helps, I'm not sure. Can anyone clarify?
  2. Batch files are definitely supported; lots of people have used them successfully. That's a pretty weird error; I'm guessing that maybe something that the batch file is doing might be causing the error?
  3. Hi @znibro, responded in your other thread.
  4. Hi @znibro, the double quote issue was fixed with 5.7. However, it could be that a different character is causing the problem. What exactly are you seeing? Is the importer just disappearing?
  5. Hi @franklb, that shouldn't be happening for all ROMs unless the site is down or there's an issue with your connection. Or, if you're using EmuMovies, it's possible that the daily download limit was hit.
  6. Hi @pasteko, welcome. That's not a common request, but it is a good point. Feel free to add a ticket for it using the Report Issue / Feedback link in the header. :)
  7. Hi @phly95, skins are planned for Big Box, indeed. Per a splash screen, I'd probably want to leave that up to the community to create a different application of some sort to handle that.
  8. Hi @sndinc, welcome. Yes, I believe what you describe per the multiple instances should work without issues. For MAME ROM scraping, a MAME step should show up in the import wizard if you use MAME for the emulator. There's also a check box to force it in the custom options wizard page.
  9. Speaking of the videos, it's frustrating because I have it working on one machine but randomly it just doesn't work on one of my other machines, sigh. I might put out the beta anyways to see if it's just a fluke on my one machine or something.
  10. Thanks @mute64, I believe it, as we've seen that before. There's probably a game in there that's causing problems with EmuMovies somehow or other. I'd appreciate if someone could add a bug ticket for that so I can track it and get it fixed.
  11. Thank you @Dormat! For what it's worth, this has been planned for a while, but probably not fleshed out yet. Appreciated. :)
  12. That is true, I need to gracefully handle those errors better for individual ROMs. I believe it aborts the import for that one ROM when it runs into a 404 error. Can somebody add a ticket for this with Report Issue / Feedback in the header? :)
  13. Basically, it shows up if you select MAME as your emulator by default, but you can also force it to use that logic by checking the "Force using MAME metadata" box on the custom options page.
  14. Fixed. Thankfully when it happens it's really easy to delete the user and everything they did. Unfortunately it's not so easy to prevent automatically. :/
  15. That is an important feature request; I don't think it's on the Bitbucket yet. Can you request it using Report Issue / Feedback in the header? :)
  16. Gotcha. :)
  17. Great to hear, thanks @djcarnage. :)
  18. It has been done, but yeah, it's not exactly going to be easy to do, as the format is fairly particular. LaunchBox will filter MAME ROMs out of the mix for duplicates and BIOS files, etc. But of course it should obey the options you specify in the wizard.
  19. Hi @mute64, if you're seeing an error or if the importer is disappearing, let me know. I had to fix an issue with the EmuMovies downloads where if you put double quotes in the title of the game, it chokes. Let me know if you're seeing that (could be more characters to look out for).
  20. We do need to check that it's on Bitbucket, now that we've moved over to that. But yes, it is something that I want to take care of, just proved more difficult than it should have been last time I attempted to make it happen.
  21. Sure, I ran a test before going live with the EmuMovies stuff with a free account. It's actually pretty hard to hit the limit. It takes a lot of images, at least. 100 manuals probably wouldn't make you hit the 1 GB limit.
  22. Also, if you have an FTP account you might find it quicker to download an entire system's videos that way, for example. That might get them to you quicker.
  23. But there *are* download limits for free members. It's relatively high since free members can't download videos; I think it's around 1 GB per day.
  24. Yeah, I'm a lifetime supporter myself and I've downloaded huge amounts in one sitting. So pretty sure it's completely unlimited. :)
  25. Actually you can change the locations of all the image files on a platform-by-platform basis. Go to Tools > Manage Platforms and you can move things around however you like. It may be a bit of work though due to all the options. Unfortunately though, just a fair warning, you may find performance to be unfortunate if you move images over to a network drive.
