  1. Hi @teamkory, the issue with the above is that the "use file name only without file extension..." box is not checked. It should have been checked by default, actually. But that should fix it. :)
  2. Hi @marcowy, Brad's mostly right, it's a GUID, which is just generated randomly as a unique ID. It's basically just a random string of letters. So basically, it isn't important what it is so long as it's in the valid format and it isn't the same for more than one game in the XML.
  3. Yeah, sadly, no, no automated way to scrape from a random page.
  4. Indeed, that is correct. Here is what is coming out very soon: $20 - Regular LaunchBox license with 1 year of updates $10 - Renew license for another year of updates $30 - Upgrade a regular license to a forever-updates license $50 - Get a brand new forever-updates license The additional options will be available very soon, probably around the beginning of the year. Thanks!
  5. Hi @master333, thank you much for the purchase and glad it's going well for you! In fact that is a glaring omission for the moment; hopefully we can add that functionality soon. Right now, there's no way to scroll that text. I went ahead and added a ticket for it here; feel free to vote it up: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/288/allow-scrolling-big-box-notes-text Thanks!
  6. Hi @Haizum74, I responded on YouTube, but it would probably be better to have the conversation here. What LaunchBox is doing is telling the operating system to open a web page, basically it's trying to open the LaunchBox website. So maybe some kind of configuration is strange for that on your machine? What is your default web browser?
  7. Awesome, thank you @jammer241! Glad you're all set and thank you very much for the purchase. :)
  8. Hi @ccorkin, looks like @craiganderson already gave you some great help here: https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/collections/my-big-box-work-in-progress#p8286 Many thanks to Craig, of course. Just linking this here in case anyone else stumbles on this. I will look to make this easier in the future, probably by providing default settings for setting up Rocket Launcher.
  9. Weird. To be honest that makes zero sense to me, but glad it's working. We're using DirectX to search for the controllers, so I have no idea why there would have been a problem.
  10. I haven't had much luck getting that guide button to work in Retroarch or anywhere else. I'm not sure why, but the guide button does not show up as a standard button on the controller. It requires special code in order to access it, so it doesn't work unless an app has code that specifically accesses it in order to make it work. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Retroarch has never supported it. I'm not aware of any emulators that do, unfortunately.
  11. Yeah, it's a good solution for now, even though it's a challenge for people who aren't overly familiar with the Windows file system. It actually hasn't come up that much, so it's not really in high demand at this point.
  12. They are using a lot of Mono code and literally re-structuring and re-coding .NET to be more platform-agnostic. So the solution has nothing to do with Wine, yeah.
  13. Thank you for this Craig! I should really add Rocket Launcher to the default list of emulator settings, even though it's not really an emulator.
  14. Thanks guys. It would actually be a fairly simple feature to add, but I'm afraid misuse and confusion surrounding it would be rampant. "Why didn't LaunchBox move all my games for me?" "Why didn't it automatically find them when I moved them over here?" "Why did LaunchBox not find my ROM when I renamed the file?" "Do I move the files first, and then change them in LaunchBox, or the other way around?" "Why didn't my images move with my games?" "Where did the game manual files go?" It's certainly feasible, but a good, clear solution needs thought about and designed before jumping in. Relative paths can also be a challenge, because we have emulators, ROMs, videos, music files, manuals, and images all using relative paths. So the solution unfortunately isn't as simple as "so yeah, I moved my game files over here instead."
  15. It's actually more native Linux, not wine. .NET is making great strides right now on Linux, so it is likely that we may see LaunchBox on Linux in the semi-near future.
  16. Thanks @cejpe. The best way to download new stuff to existing games is Tools > Download Metadata and Images. Rather than re-importing games, this should give you more control about what remains and what gets overwritten. The task bar thing was really just fixed because of user complaints; some users like it to be there so if they alt-tab away from it it's easy to get back to. There was speculation that it might fix some issues with Steam Link, but in fact it did not.
  17. Good idea, @CADScott. I think primarily first, sidebar filter options are in order for manuals, music, videos, etc. That way it'd be super easy to see which ones are missing. But then images would be a ridiculous number of them, so maybe a report would be better for that. If you would please, go ahead and add it as a feature request here: http://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox That way we can track it and such.
  18. Yeah, tapping into Hyperspin's images might be possible, but I'm sure there's plenty of complications because LaunchBox isn't Hyperspin. Still not a bad idea for the long term.
  19. Yeah, the confusion that people are running into when coming from Hyperspin or possibily some other frontends is that LaunchBox does not yet extract ROMs from archives before launching them. Hyperspin will do that, so whether or not the actual emulator will support the zip/7z/rar files, it still works. With LaunchBox, zip/7z/rar files will only work if the emulator itself supports it. I'll be adding this feature to LaunchBox soon.
  20. Hi @pjburnhill, this has actually been fixed in the latest beta. You can check the option to upgrade to beta releases in the LaunchBox Options menu.
  21. Hi @pjburnhill, there are separate settings in Big Box for controllers than in LaunchBox, so I'm guessing that's the issue. Look for controller options in Big Box. :)
  22. Sure, absolutely. LaunchBox does collect clear logos for games, which is basically the same thing that Hyperspin uses. Hopefully I can play around with using them in a similar interface at some point here soon. :)
