  1. Sure; I do like that concept, but it's still a pretty significant undertaking, so unfortunately I can't promise anything soon.
  2. @LeviWB, welcome. To combine platforms, you would select all of the games from one platform, and then right click and Edit them. This will bring you into the Bulk Edit wizard. From there, you can set all the games to be the other platform. Not sure if that solves your problem, but that's how you would combine platforms.
  3. Very cool. Suprisingly though lol, looks like we only got about 8 visitors from there yesterday.
  4. I believe you should have editing permission now, @monyarm. I'm fond of open source PC games, so sure. Not sure about the legality of homebrew games, so I really have no idea there.
  5. Very cool, @monyarm. Great idea; I appreciate that you've kept it legal, too. :)
  6. Yes, I'm guessing somehow or other there's an invalid file name in there. Hopefully you can edit the XML file. If you could email your LaunchBox.xml file to jasondavidcarr at gmail dot com (before you fix it) then I can probably get the issue fixed in LaunchBox so that at least it lets you edit it. :)
  7. I see, sure; so we just send it a folder path instead of a ROM file path. I can add that to the list. :) Are you the developer of Higan by chance? Or just know them?
  8. Wow, that's crazy. I'd like to try it to see how well it really works.
  9. Indeed. I do have that one on my list. :)
  10. Makes sense. That'd be a big undertaking at this point, so it's not likely to happen soon. That said, I can see it as part of the long-term plans.
  11. Hi @MultipleX, I do have that on my list, but it unfortunately isn't a very high priority compared to a lot of other things. That said, pretty much anyone could develop a Kodi plugin to do it, so if we're lucky someone will step up in the mean time... :)
  12. So I should switch the default Retroarch core for GBA?
  13. It is indeed. :) I keep a list up at Bitbucket, but it's horrendously out of date. The recent things I have in a simple text file in the project. Anyways, here's Bitbucket at least: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/
  14. @eric, unfortunately there's no windowed mode, as of yet. But yes, Martin's right. LaunchBox is probably the best way to edit images and such.
  15. Good thoughts, Nathan. I did plan to add similar box-art based views soon, but I hadn't thought about it to that extent. I think that's a great plan. :)
  16. Nice @eric! Excited to see the pics! Maybe I can feature your cab on the home page?
  17. Wow, great idea, Nathan. That's a new one too. Added. :)
  18. Hi @tony971. I'm not familiar with Higan myself, but do a search on Higan here on the forums. There are other topics that address the issue already I think. I know one good option is to use Retroarch with the bsnes core (as apparently bsnes is Higan).
  19. Sorry for that @orac31, caught the issue right after I deployed it last night.
  20. Hi @Xlembros, I'm pretty baffled here still lol, because I didn't fix anything. So...hmm...
  21. Hi Stimpy, in theory, all of the images that didn't move are no longer referenced by LaunchBox (and can be deleted). Usually these are due to old versions/copies of games. We have seen some odd scenarios pop up, however, due to glitches in older versions of LaunchBox. So try moving them out of the folder first, and then refresh your images.
  22. Good to know, @toe_head2001, thanks. I'll add that to my list.
  23. Welcome @polygonslayer. I think anything inside parenthesis or square brackets is ignored; however, I don't think it includes curly braces. I can probably add that into the next beta.
  24. Hi @orac31, your best option is something like Crashplan. I gave up on RAID a long time ago because it's simply not reliable for backups. If a hard drive dies, fine, but what if the RAID controller dies? What if the RAID controller's software is faulty and fails to recover after a drive dies? I've lost data because of both scenarios. RAID sucks for backups, so I would advise against going with a NAS solution. RAID is the technology they use to prevent data loss. Crashplan is basically an online backup service. Assuming you don't have metered Internet or anything, there's no better solution. Backs up everything to the cloud, gradually over time. I've backed up over 12 TB (yes, that's 12 terabytes) to Crashplan and I've had to restore hundreds of gigs over the years due to failed drives. Never had an issue, saves me every time. Restores do take a while, but in an emergency they can ship you a hard drive with your data for $$$. Of course it's not free, but they have an unlimited storage amount per computer. You pay per computer, basically. It's worth every penny.
