  1. We still have no way of getting the games that you own on your Xbox. Microsoft doesn't provide it. Both good suggestions. If we don't have BitBucket tickets for them, then we should definitely add them.
  2. Oic. I'll add that to my list. Honestly though I don't feel like it's a major issue, so it'll probably be a while.
  3. The latest beta does now update the associated platform names on emulators when changing a platform's name, FYI.
  4. I believe this was fixed in the 11.9 betas.
  5. This was an issue specifically with 11.8. The latest betas (and the new official 11.9 version which is coming out soon) won't have this problem.
  6. Hey all, rejection reasons are indeed visible by hovering over the little "i" icon on the Changes Status page. Were you just not aware of this, or am I missing something?
  7. I see. I'll put that on the list. Edit: Actually, it would be best if you could create a new ticket for it under Help & Support -> Request a Feature in the header.
  8. Basically it means you don't need to wait any longer. You'll be able to update to the latest MAME version whenever it comes out. LaunchBox no longer cares what version you're using.
  9. Sorry for the late reply here @RobertBlum. Usually this is video driver corruption of some sort. Try updating your video drivers (or in some cases downgrading).
  10. Hmm, probably just an upload error of sorts. I assume the upload worked the second time?
  11. Hey all, FYI; the latest beta has been modified to no longer require specific MAME version updates on the server, and the full set importer now works well with any modern version of MAME. These features will be out shortly in an official release. There are also four new files under LaunchBox\ThirdParty\MAME; these files can be manually updated to match a particular MAME version if necessary. They are all used (along with a MAME.xml output from MAME itself) to build the necessary metadata for the importer and the games. Basically, all the MAME metadata processing is done locally on your computer now instead of on the server, so you'll no longer need to worry about us updating anything on the server in order to update to the latest version.
  12. This is already possible, though not through the startup screen. Different versions are added as additional applications. So you can choose which version to launch by choosing Additional Apps/Versions in the game details menu in Big Box, or in the right-click menu in LaunchBox.
  13. What this means is that you can custom-search any fields for pretty much anything using auto-populate playlists. The only issue is that you have to create and then delete the playlist when you're done. Whole-word searches like what you're looking for here are incredibly complicated, and often broken. Unfortunately all you have to do is try to use the search algorithm on the forums here (which we didn't write) to understand how terrible most of them are, and how difficult it is to do well. For example, when a user searches for "blame", ideally the search algorithm would also search for "blaming", "blames", "blamed", etc. That may be a bad example, but it should be good enough to demonstrate how deep of a knowledge of the English language would be required to do a proper whole-word search. It's not likely to be done well without serious performance issues and a ton of development time. If we simply searched for whole words instead, users wouldn't find what they were looking for half the time. Whether or not to search fields other than title of course is just user preference. I hope I've explained my thought process here.

  15. An improvement for this would be to keep, say, 10 games extracted at any one time, so that games that are frequently played don't need to be re-extracted every time. I'll put this on the list for the next poll.
  16. @JKWILL01 This may be because you're running LaunchBox over a network drive, or in a different file system than NTFS.
  17. Beta 5 is out now with the following: Space now works when typing game names to jump to them Fixed a typo Translation updates Added Check All and Check None options to the MAME import
  18. One more note, because of the Big Box interface, if you add anything under a playlist, you won't ever be able to access it in Big Box. So I think that's the biggest reason why it wasn't implemented that way. Though I understand that not everyone uses Big Box.
  19. So I had forgotten that you can't add anything underneath playlists. This has been a restriction for a long time, that I just forgot about. I think there were performance and caching implications there, which is why we specifically don't allow that. I've put it on our list of items to tackle, but we'll need to do some significant testing when we put it in, so it might be a while. In the mean time, the best option is to just use categories instead of playlists whenever you need to nest something.
  20. I see, thanks for the report. I was under the impression that this was possible, but I'm seeing the same thing. Not sure if it's always been that way or if a bug was introduced. We'll look into it.
  21. Thank you much; got this in for the beta.
  22. In the LaunchBox platform categories view of the sidebar, you can right click on any playlist and add a new playlist underneath it.
  23. In my testing, there are zero differences in startup performance in 11.9 vs. 11.8. I used a stopwatch to compare. If you're seeing performance differences, please use a stopwatch and tell us the startup time for 11.8, and then the startup time for the latest beta. I suppose it's possible that if you have a crazy huge Amazon or Xbox games collection, that could affect it, but I'm doubtful that anyone has all that many games from those providers.
  24. Viking had uploaded those particular videos as category videos only. I just copied them so that they'll work with playlists now too.
  25. It is possible for the startup time to be slightly longer. I'll run a few tests to compare. However, it doesn't make sense for any other performance to be affected (such as scrolling), as no changes were made to that code, so if you're seeing a performance difference, it's probably caused by some kind of an external influence. The dual processes is a normal thing.
