  1. I used them just a few hours ago, do you have a Premium version of LaunchBox?
  2. Yea move all the roms (the zips and your folders in MAME 0.161 roms) up one folder in to just roms.
  3. That would be an easy solution, and very awesome for you to try and create.
  4. The CHD's are for specific games that require them, not all do, and that pack is significantly bigger. That is about 350GB ish. If you have BIOS files, and a pack with a matching MAME version then are all of your games in the same location and are they all in the proper folder in your mame install?
  5. Well thank you, we do appreciate the kind words. maybe we can get a hold of the -x developer and ask him or her if they have a list of the different commands?
  6. They should... I am unsure if the older packs do, I know 170 through 173 does.
  7. Damn I was hoping this was the case. Grab a MAME BIOS pack and put them in with your games.
  8. An image quality slider or quality check boxes should be fine right?
  9. If they have command line documentation that would be the easiest way to find out.
  10. A fresh install on a different drive, and installing it with admin didn't work? Two drives can't be going out at the same time... There is a folder in your original LB folder that holds backup exe's inside, if you try any one of these it wont work? Beta's, older stables?
  11. They may have changed the commands to load and play games. I know Daum works just fine for me if I put the entire package in the DOS folder, then rename the Daum exe I want to the old Dosbox exe. I have a small issue with trying to install a DOS game through LaunchBox though. Chances are we'll try and expand our support here when we can. These newer DOSBox builds are getting more and more superior compared to regular DOSBox by the week.
  12. Not to mention you didn't get matching sets. Even a 171 or 172 MAME Rom set would be best over what you found on MAME 173. 173 is looking for different files in different locations than what 161 provides. Look for a 173 split or merged rom set.
  13. Yep, as long as the media file matches the game in name then upon restart they should work. Glad you figured it out! Enjoy the video. :P
  14. There might be some quality settings Jason could apply or you can change the size and rows etc. Still in it's tweaking phase.
  15. Cadet Stimpy said SentaiBrad said Only. Well, this Forum currently has 4498 members, so if we all kick-in, it'd only be <$22.18 for each of us, and the LaunchBox Forum could own it. I call Dibs on Flinston's Dinosaur Peak, Chubby Cherub and Stadium Events. There might be 1 or 2 I'm forgetting off the top of my head.
  16. Importing either works, but I found myself taking the extra 10GB or so hit and going with split. With split I can just drop in an update pack and be fine. With merged I'd either have to re-download an entire merged set or use a program like CLRMamePro to insert the update pack so it's merged right. The path of least resistance for me is Split then grabbing update packs.
  17. Yea LaunchBox works without the License, but we won't remove the name. It defeats the purpose a bit.
  18. Developers wanted to do something new, so they went 3D when they did. RA is making some huge strides in PS1 and N64 development though, keep an eye on it. You can also still use CRT shaders on PS1 games if you really want. There haven't been that many issues I've seen from up-scaling 3D PS1 graphics. I just wish Blasto didn't run like absolute crap. :P
  19. Yep that's pretty much my tutorial boiled down. Though leave the System name the default name in LaunchBox for best scraping possibilities. PS1 emulation is getting better too in RA thankfully. I still also need to test out PBP compression.
  20. I would keep the games in the roms folder in your MAME folder for simplicity. Your set may also look wildly different then any video's you may watch because you may have a newer set then the video had at the time. I used 171 or 172 at the time. That said, as long as you follow the tutorial you should be fine.
  21. Watch our tutorial series, I did one on MAME on our channel. You can get there by clicking the link in my signature. All of those games should work. The way the importer works is that it wont import every single file, like I said before 1 file doesn't equal 1 game. Leaving the importer at default will import roughly 4k games. In the tutorial I walk you through the whole process.
  22. Yea being the same Ghz or Generation doesn't make them equal. Not that AMD CPU's are inherently bad I will admit (thought my Wife and I had the most problems with AMD hardware honestly), but you can save a decent amount of money. My new Intel CPU has been... amazing. HEVC video conversion is actually achievable for me now.
  23. So there have been a lot of talks about which type of PC is great for emulation, where can my compromise be, what is emulation accuracy and a whole lot other questions. I thought it would be a good idea to share some information with everyone if you feel like doing some light reading. I pretty much agree with these two pages and have actually said as much in the forums (like AMD vs Intel), but it's all fairly well written and I trust the information on Emulation General 100%. This wiki is an invaluable source of information. http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Computer_specs http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Emulation_Accuracy
