Are you sure you haven't 2 instances of LaunchBox/Bigbox, right click the desktop one and click properties and see what size it is if it is a shortcut it should be only a few kb, from the way your describing it it sounds like two separate instances of LaunchBox/Bigbox, also right click it and click on folder location to see where it is in fact installed.

@Jason Carr Here is screenshot of object reference in visual studio when using the new video element and a screenshot of the pixellation that occurs when scrolling only sometime through platforms using vlc engine it is very sporadic, i sorted out the Wmp background video not sizing properly by binding new video element to canvas.

@Hexxxer here it is

@Jason Carr i tried out the new video element replacing the media element both in my theme Scidoc and Criticalzone it makes the background video at times very pixxelated using Vlc engine, and in some views doesnt stretch to the full screen using the Wmp engine, while @CriticalCid media element doesn't, and it also throws up an instance of an object is not set in visual studio.

@Peridot I think this would be a fantastic idea it would allow us to create a permanent dedicated cache partition specifically for LaunchBox/BigBox

@DOS76 Good Call i re-uploaded the Vertical theme as it had a hidden thumbs.db left in the images folder for fanart which made the file larger than it should have been i wonder if that was causing the video problem for you might not be but no harm in checking (maybe BigBox looking for something that wasn't there) as the re upload is now only a few kb compared to what it was, Will be taking a leaf out of your book and having hidden files showing from now on.
-
@Jason Carr I figured it out it is a fault in the windows operating system that was never fixed by Microsoft apparently sometime when you add pictures jpg or png's to folders Windows creates a hidden thumbs.db in that folder but when you delete the pictures the thumbs.db is left behind until that too is deleted hence explorer reports that the folder is in fact not empty (it also creates sometimes a hidden desktop.ini as well, the only way to see these files is to go to control panel, folder options, click on view tab then uncheck Hide protected operating files and then click apply. you can now see these hidden .db files and then can delete then and even the desktop.ini files, these files will rebuild again when you reboot computer but wont be rebuild for empty folders thus showing you that the folder is really actually empty. Don't forget to recheck the Hide protected operating files and then click apply when you have finished.

@Jason Carr I just noticed something really weird if you place fanart in the theme folder and then subsequently delete that fanart it still shows in properties for that fanart folder that it is still the same size inside that folder even when you go to control panel and show hidden files and folders you see nothing inside that folder as you deleted everything already but it still reports as if there is something there. I had to reupload the vertical theme as it showed it was over 15mb when in fact it was only a few kb see screen shot before and then after deleting folder and putting in a new folder ps i cut to desktop then replaced it back in documents after replacing folder, you can check it out in the one i mailed to you previously on here.

Default Vertical
View File
Hi as promised here is the Default BigBox Vertical theme specifically for Vertical Screens, Arcade Machines etc.
Unzip and place unzipped file in your LaunchBox theme Folder. You should now be able to scroll and see your menu items in the BigBox and Options Screens. All Background Images and Background Videos will fill the entire screen so it is advisable to have Vertical Videos for your Platforms and Games, if not please be advised that normal Platform Videos and Game videos will fill the entire screen if you set show Platform or Game Videos in settings.
This is a work in progress as Jason said that when he has time in the new-year he will sort out the fonts sizing that is needed in certain aspects of the menu and options screen which currently cannot be done in xaml, but i have used a alternate method for the time being in order that you will be able to see what you are navigating in these menu's.
Platform and Game Views are reworked to take advantage of Vertical monitors.
For people having trouble on some views please be advised that the New Views recently added are not skinned for Vertical Orientation yet.
Below is a list of working Vertical ViewsWorking Views Platforms

Thanks to @Jason Carr for allowing me to manipulate this theme for Vertical Machines.
So Happy Christmas to All and a Very Merry NewYear.

Long time ago that was the only way that model 2 games would launch was through bats but cant remember what instance of the m2 emulator changed that as is to long ago now to remember.
-
@DOS76 I'm not someone asked about the use of the bat bd00 used way back and i replied then @CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT asked me to test few things with bat and i did. The emulator_multicpu runs roms zips fine without the use of bats through LaunchBox/BigBox.
-
@CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT Just did i get an empty log.txt file with nothing in it
-
@CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT The syntax of the command is incorrect. this is log
-
@CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT put a pause at end of bat ran it, exited game, it leaves CMD window open until a key is pressed once key is pressed it exits CMD no syntax error or error of any kind or issues.
-
@Trihy Each bat must be in a folder named as the game
here is copy of what is inside bel.bat remember save as rom name bat (bel.bat = rom.bat = behind enemy lines.bat you get the idea?) and to put bat inside folder with game name (folder name = Behind Enemy Lines)
cd /d "C:\Users\PC\Documents\LaunchBox\Emulators\Model 2"
start "Emulator" "C:\Users\PC\Documents\LaunchBox\Emulators\Model 2\emulator_multicpu.exe" %~n0- 1

I have the default vertical theme done i will upload it in a few days i first want @Jason Carr to go over it and maybe he will be able to change one or 2 items in it that cannot be changed in the xaml code, it will stretch all Background video and Background images to your screen resolution as this seemed the best option when i was doing it, So it would be advantageous to use vertical Videos and Background Images To suit your Vertical screen orientation, so just a few days to wait for the upload.

@BakerMan Do you mean the actual game Playing on a vertical monitor or a Screenshot of the Genesis or NES Platform?
The monitor resolution for the screenshots is 900x1440 but it should work on any vertical resolution i tested it on a 1024x1280 as well.
