    PC-FX on Retroarch

    I have them running.
  2. Peoples realities are very different in different parts of the world.
  3. Is there any platform videos around that display multiple popular games or are we waiting for them to be created. Brad you going to a SentaiBrad video platform mega pack for the community?
  4. Its probably your video make sure you have a hd video Mine was in 4:3 too
  5. You have to go into your LaunchBox folder. Go to the videos folder. You will see a folder in there named Platforms this folder is empty by default so you have to add the videos to this folder Videos have to be named what the platform is named once you have done this go into BigBox. Once in BigBox start switching your views. It takes a little bit to get to that view so be patient and keep switching them.
  6. No I couldn't get it to work? EDIT I got it to work you have to have videos in your Videos\platforms folder named after the platform and then you find the view you are looking for. I used After Burner Complete for 32X to test and because my videos was a 4:3 from EmuMovies they look like shit. At the time it seemed like you didn't need to get the better quality ones due to they looked fine in LB/BB but now that's all changed.
  7. I'm not 100% but I thought I read that Jason added new views so I'm guessing one of the views has the background videos you have to go through and figure out which one.
  8. Its easy to have two emulators co-exist for the same platform. You just add a new emulator and for its associated platform you don't check the default emulator checkbox. Also I keep my FBA cores in 3 separate platforms and use Arcade only for MAME emulated games.
  9. There is a post on the forum discussing this you need to change the controller plug-in with one from PCSX2 and this plug-in has a checkbox to turn off confirmation.
  10. Thanks I didn't realize. I apologize to the community for the 2k times you had to read some of my inane bull$h!t
  11. If Windows 7 is still widely used they they will probably extend coverage longer like they did for XP but by 2020 it will be like using XP.
  12. Its probably easier for RetroArch because they are using the code along with their emulators (cores) for Jason to code this for every existing emulator is seems like a monumental task.
  13. It depends on the type of license you have when you upgrade if you have a Windows 7 or 8 OEM version then yes it is machine specific if you have a retail license which I have about 9 of for Windows 8 then you can install it on any machine. You had to love when they had the $15 dollar promotion if you purchased a new PC I had about 6 of those but only bought one PC they didn't verify though.
  14. I was more hoping to let people know to get the update for free and to keep on using the OS they have this way they have a copy they don't have to pay anything for regardless of what anyone's personal reasons for upgrading or not upgrading.
  15. I'm not really sure. There is software to change that anyway if necessary. Easy BCD there is a free non-commercial version.
  16. Actually any time I install Windows 10 as a dual boot (which has been a few) it takes over as the main OS and the boot screen changes from the Windows 7 text style one where it asks which OS to choose to the Windows 10 tile based option.

  18. Windows 10 free upgrade ends at the end of July next month. Now I understand that many of you are not upgrading by choice due to personal preference and I completely understand that but I think that everyone should strongly consider getting a copy of Windows 10 for free just for future use. Windows 7 is aging and while it may be what you want to use now in the future to get newer Windows features you may be forced to upgrade anyway. You can upgrade but keep your copy of Windows 7. The way to do this is not to do the in system upgrade but to create your own installation media. By doing this either with a disc or a USB flash drive (to do this you will need to enter your BIOS and change your boot order) you will be offered the option to choose a partition on which to install Windows 10 if you install another drive or create another partition on an internal drive (emphasis on the words install and internal as this will not work on a USB drive). After you install it the next time your computer starts it will now be setup as a dual boot computer and you will be prompted to choose an OS every time that you boot the computer up. All that will be required is that you occasionally boot up Windows 10 periodically and keep it up to date thus leaving you ready for when (not if) you are eventually forced to move on.
  19. Will Vista stop being supported next year when it reaches end of life (04-2017). Not that I have Vista on anything but it could help the users you guys have detected using it be better prepared to have to move on to a newer OS.
  20. Brad I wouldn't even attempt to run BigBox on a tablet with exceptions as I'm sure the surfaces with the i7's in them would eat BigBox up but I don't have money for a tablet that cost as much as a decent desktop so I'm using much weaker tablets. I read that their is a CPU hit in H265 but my tablet can directly play files opened from explorer over the network using WMP so for a newer quad core atom the performance is pretty smooth. Ok I see that you specified that you won't have a performance issue in playback and that is my experience. I don't create video and only rarely have I tried to convert videos from one codecs to another and I know that process will make your machine run exceptionally hard even on good hardware. Also I'm conservative about how I use my storage. I just started getting 720 videos because of the H265 I still don't mess around with the 1080's as I need the space more than that extra increase in quality. Thanks for specifying all of this for me.
  21. SentaiBrad could you explain how H265 videos takes a more powerful PC. I watch them on my tablet without issue over my network so I'm confused by this unless you mean on the creation side because my experience is that the smaller the file size the easier it is for your network to handle the file.
  22. No and the controller implementation is limited it doesn't allow any thumb keys, triggers, d-pad or analog sticks so its limited to 8 buttons (I think you can use left and right) and one of those is the hold key. I have a BitBucket ticket suggesting that RetroArch style HotKey Enabling be implemented but it didn't gain any voter traction so it will most likely be ignored.
  23. Do you have LaunchBox running if so the XML won't change
