Microsoft offers the C++ library for download on their website there are a lot of different packs and I'm uncertain about which one you might need.

I have an old laptop with Windows 10 64 bit that won't run RetroArch at all the program crashes immediately when ever you try to run it. So if you are using older hardware that could be the issue. Based on the error though you may be missing things from your runtime library google the error message and you will probably find results.

Yeah if you are using MAME or any of the CPS Neo Geo stuff in RA that won't work you would need to set up another instance of the emulator in LB and use the different settings.

I'll have to check which compression method my games are in but they work fine in LB with just RA.

I have a strange occurrence with BigBox while using the new Platform view and the Coverflow the letter picker isn't working but only when I'm on the Game Boy Advance platform everything else is working fine so for only one platform not to work is very weird. It scrolls normally through the individual games but once I try the letter pick it goes back to the 1st game I have that uses a symbol in the title and no matter what letter you put it on it only displays the one box.

Jason the new wheel art view for the platforms is pretty stunning. I had to do a restart in order to get the view to change don't know if that is intentional or not but if so could you add a (requires restart) next to it. All in all though it is looking good can't wait to see the auto updates with the db get implemented.

I believe that all of the bios files should be included in the ROM set. If you have a full set. A lot of those games are clones, regional duplicates, nonworking, mahjong, Poker, stuff that won't add anything to your value and will just make MAME overwhelming to sort through (Its already convoluted when you have 4K worth of ROMs)

I know every time you start either program it checks for updates and that when you request meta and images it would be sending requests out but besides that I don't know what else it would be doing at this point soon it should start doing more stuff online with the auto updates from the LBGDB.

You shouldn't have to add custom parameters for every game. When you add RA to LB it will setup many of the cores for platform names but it only sets up Nintendo Game Boy Color and Nintendo Game Boy Advance by default so if you have a platform named Nintendo Game Boy but you didn't add that to the associated platforms than that is probably the issue. To associate a new platform go to tools, manage emulators, this will open a new form on that form find Retroarch click it and then hit edit this will open another form click the associated platform tab and then you will see all of the auto configed systems for RA now if you have other cores that don't have platforms this is where you will add them. Scroll down to the 1st empty line and click on it then type Nintendo Game Boy. Click tab and type -L "cores\gambatte_libretro.dll".

When Windows 8 was first released I let my TrendMicro subscription lapse and haven't paid for antivirus since thanks to Windows Defender. I've also never gotten a virus either.

Do you have the games working outside of LB or you can't get them to work at all?

What kind of system do you have? Demul won't run good on low end hardware NullDC might be better. If you have a halfway decent computer though Demul is the way to go.

Okay here's my thoughts and bare with me I've been smoking a little this morning. If you were to open new platforms in the DB for Famicom, SuperFamicom and all the other systems that fit in this category and the mods were to approve platform changes for all of the relevant games or make new entries for games that were from both regions then couldn't the users then start scrapping the information under those names right now with only minimal changes needing to be made to LaunchBox.

If that is the case why do Genesis and MegaDrive both have there own DB section? I prefer the different regions to have there own category personally so I like that there is a Genesis and Mega Drive and would like to see this be expanded to allowing NES/Famicom SNES/SuperFamicom TG16/PCE all to have separate sections but it seems from what I read it would more go the other direction and Genesis and MegaDrive would be merged instead of the other systems being split.

I've read that Project Tempest works with a few CD games but I've never tried it the standalone Virtual Jaguar doesn't support Jaguar CD so I'm like 99% sure that the RA core doesn't either.

Best Paid software I've ever got plus I got in pretty early so I basically stole it in the 1st place and then Jason very graciously hooked us up with gift cards for helping with the BigBox naming. For the MAME sets I believe that you don't get counted against your ratio they are considered a free download and if a torrent tells you 3 days in the beginning it usually shortens considerably I got the 700GB CHD pack in about a day if I recall correctly

Yes you need to go into the setting section and then into input find Input hot key binds and enable hot key once you do that you can map a bunch of other cool stuff to work from the menu but none of it works unless you press the hot key 1st its a top notch feature of the emulator.
