Hardware 'Wish List' Topic (starting off with a 32:9 Aspect Ratio monitor!)

I've built 2 PC's in the same CoolerMaster Elite 130 case it isn't anything fancy but it is $45 which is very appealing to me. -

I just noticed that it is $189 for the case that is just to much money to spend on a case IMO that only holds 2 drives and 1 expansion card. -
Maybe but it seems from what I've seen its the same conductor regardless of where the performance is. I checked online to see if they were coming to Philly or anywhere in Jersey the closest place will be Rochester NY and not until Nov. I would like to go see it though. Also it can't just be music from the 25th Anniversary CD now that I think about it because the show is much longer than the CD.

The Asus z170I that I got around Christmas would fit in there and you need a SFX PSU and a mini ITX GPU you could make that machine pretty bad ass you may need a low profile cpu fan but that wouldn't be to much. -

From what I've heard of it much of it is from the 25th Anniversary Symphony which I occasionally like to listen to because it is basically just awesome and also shows how the franchise transcends mere gaming and is actually a world wide cultural phenomenon.

It is just a case from what I see the specs will be whatever mini ITX board and hardware you throw in there. -
Did you already import the games using an older version? Removing the platform doesn't work you have to first delete any games you added. If you already add your MAME games you will be able to see them under the All platform you must delete all of them from LaunchBox 1st. How far have you gotten with LaunchBox already you may be able to save time by deleting your LaunchBox.xml and starting over from there you will have to add everything again but as long as you don't touch any of your folders all of your Metadata and Images will be there to easily add back in. That or try using the backup folder take a backup from there and try to find a version of your xml from before you removed the platform.

CriticalCid I just tried to use CMP to update from 170 to 171 and I failed miserably. First do I have to update MAMEUI to a 171 version to get it to work. I created a profile off of my .exe and that seemed to run fine. then I went to settings and add a ROM Path to my ROMs then I started the scanner and unchecked the samples path since I didn't set that up then when I clicked new scan I got an error message saying I had incorrect things and to go into Systems and make changes. At this point I had no clue what to do so I just unchecked everything and than ran the new scan which completed then I tried to rebuild and when it finished it scanned 259 new games but didn't create anything. I basically don't know what I am doing and I found the whole process to not be very intuitive. For the CHD's can you basically just replace the old ones with the new ones in the CHD file? With the ROMs can you unzip them both merge them and then zip them back up into 1 .zip it is ony 50 something games at some point I would rather just do that then go through a huge hassle trying to use a program I have no understanding of. Any assistance would be appreciated.

That is inconvenient but until the other API's are finished (by outside sources) we are at the mercy of the GamesDB who are having issues with their hosts. I'm sure that it will be straightened out soon.

Click on tools, go to optoins, click updates and check Update to Beta Releases. There is a know bug in the stable version.

Yeah I have a version on an SD card with all 8 and 16 bit systems and ROMs along with some other stuff that whenever I setup a new PC I use that as the foundation of the setup and then add other systems to the new install but keep that SD card unchanged. I've never had an issue with the relative path setup I don't know if maybe moving it to my OS drive prevents it from using the relative paths but I don't see why it would.

No problem also I did just notice that on my 1360x768 display that Kega is only displaying in 800x600 I had originally copied this version of Kega from another PC and it was running fine in 1920x1080 since my TV's native display is 720 but does do 1080 that was working but now when I switched the resolution to 1360x768 the other day when I noticed it was running at 1920x1080 for some reason it if forcing me to use compatible graphics (ForceCompatibleGFX=1 in the Fusion.ini) I've notice on a laptop and a tablet lately that when using Kega at 1360x768 it is forcing me to use CompatibleGFX which gives you way less Video options in the menu I've tried removing the .ini but every time I open it it just changes it back. So I don't have it running at native resolution on a 1360x768 display but it isn't resizing anything on exit like it does on a 1920x1080 display.

MobyGames is rumored to be the new default along with GiantBomb support also.

Right now the GamesDB is down so we are basically stuck not being able to get any artwork at the moment unless you have an EmuMovies account and even then the only way to get anything is by using the Import metadata and Images features under Tools in the menu since if you try to do games individually and you try to search for Metadata you will get the GamesDB is down as a response.

Are you trying to share on the same network or a remote network? I just moved my LaunchBox install to my C:\ today and all of the relative paths stopped working to fix this I opened my LaunchBox.xml with Notepad++ and edited it 1) Go into search and select find then type in ..\Emulators 2) Click the replace tab next and type in D:\Emulators 3) Click replace all 4)Save (LaunchBox should be closed while you are working on the xml file) Now these instructions are for my instance for yours you would need to change it slightly. In step 1 you would type ..\Games and in step 2 you would type C:\Games this would change everything in your XML and next time you went to edit a game its path would read C:\Games (If you have multiple platforms in your games folder make sure you type only ..\Games and change it to C:\Games this way it will change every platform inside the folder at one time. I still don't think your girlfriend would be able to access the games like this I think it would say the ROM file wasn't found. I would copy just your LaunchBox folder over to your GF's computer and then do what I described on her computer except change it from ..\Games to \\Name of your PC\Games but to do this you will also have to share your games folder. I hope that this isn't to confusing because as I reread it I'm thinking that it may be a little convoluted. If you need clarification on any of this don't hesitate to ask.

Seemed like they were posting somewhat regularly on their FB page. I don't have a FB account myself so I could only see their main page and didn't look to in depth.

First off welcome to the forums. As to the issue with Kega Fusion I can't help you with the windows popping up I have that happen to but it really doesn't bother me so I have never researched a method to get it to stop. As to the issue with it messing with your resolution when it closes I know all about that. To deal with this you have to first set Fusion to run in your monitor/TV's native resolution then you have to go into the properties of the Fusion.exe and in the compatibility tab check the disable display scaling check box. I have this setup on 2 50 inch 1920x1080 HDTV's and a 32 in 2360x768 TV and as long as you disable display scaling and use the native resolution then it shouldn't effect anything when you exit from the emulator.

Their FaceBook page says they are having a hosting issue and they are waiting for it to be fixed on the hosts side. Here is a link

Except in real life the drunken Schlitz drinker beat the shit out of that poor woman for burning his dinner. I hate all advertising past present and future. Not to say I don't find commercials occasionally funny or that I look away when the Victoria Secrets add is on. I just hate the constant commercial onslaught of people trying to separate me from my hardly earned. Thankfully the internet came along and now I can watch TV minus all the adds saving me time and annoyance. The best are the car commercials that talk about how much money you can save by going $30,000 plus in debt oh wait they don't mention that part just the savings. Edit: I was a little strong here I understand that advertising is an offset that keeps things going and without things like Television and a lot of print media couldn't survive without charging an exorbitant amount. Also in retrospect print ads aren't that bad because they are quiet and you can easily ignore them.

I'm was having space issues on my D:\Drive where I was storing LaunchBox, my emulators and most of my ROMs so I moved it to C drive which is the only drive I have with the space for it right at the moment now. After completing the move the only thing that is working is any games that are listed as D:\Emulators\Platform\ROMs anything that is ...\Emulators\Platform\ROMs is giving the no specified ROM error message what is the problem I though that the ...\ would work on any drive?

Hey Brad do you want to PM me a copy of what you have so far and I'll see if I can think of anything else you haven't covered.

GamesDB is still down so your results probably will still be poor.
