Hardware 'Wish List' Topic (starting off with a 32:9 Aspect Ratio monitor!)
DOS76 replied to CadetStimpy's topic in Monkeys
I see now that it is geared toward the developing world so they want to sell it to people without much money that in itself is pretty cool. It also will have encyclopedia and other learning things installed so your computer will still be useful if you aren't online. Its not for me but I like the idea behind it. I still want the data storage that will last a billion years that is such a sick concept and oh yeah its 360TB and called a Superman Crystal what! I'm still having a nerdgasm over that article. -

Just buy a under 50$ Android mini stick PC or a $100 Windows mini Stick like the MeeGoPad T2 (I own both). At least with the Windows Machine you get Windows 10, 2GB of RAM and the pleasure of not finding out what Endless OS is. -
That opinion is unpopular with me at least. Anyone can type hey such and such emulator has a new version check it out at this link. Nothing more if some one wants to copy and paste the changelog then great but I'm not trying to write an article about it I'm just trying to let other LaunchBoxians know that it exists and trusting that they will decide whether or not it is going to be right for their system. I personally wanted it to be in the Emulator section and just be pinned to the top of the page so as soon as you enter the emulator section it will be there underneath the emulator settings for all platform post that's all I think that it needs but I'm only me and I'm open to any of the other suggestions. I just don't like the idea of setting up something and limiting who can inform the users when there is a new emulator. If that was the case I'd rather see it just stay like it is and everyone randomly post about updates or new emulator in either the emulator or monkeys section.

I don't use it specifically for issues like that I though it would be great but then half the time I couldn't get my taskbar to come up when I wanted to use it so I just keep where it is convenient and usable.

Well that was a fantastic article. When can I get one and how much will it cost? -
Oh I didn't realize you were using auto hide

@Drybonz in LaunchBox under view do you have the full screen option checked if not then LaunchBox shouldn't be blocking you taskbar. I run mine maximized but not in full screen all of the time.

If ePSXe is changing the resolution when it closes it probably won't fix it even if LaunchBox is maximized I have this issue with a bunch of emulators that don't support my TV's native resolution and I always use LB maximized. If ePSXe supports your monitor/TV's native resolution try changing it to that.

I don't feel that way as the OP got involved and suggested the video segment about emulator updates. Also this post wasn't even like a question about anything OP just reported about the emulator and it went from there.

Once a month is great would be fine my suggestion was just for a forum post where the community would report these things to each other and maybe throw in some links like if this thread wasn't started I wouldn't have know the ePSXe 2.0 or PPSSPP 1.2 even existed so I'm glad that someone is looking out on the forums with this info. I was just hoping for a single post that could be used to so the community could keep each other informed without you having to spend anytime writing or preparing anything. Also, damn it Derek, we did it again. What is that we did again here?

Except if they didn't develop that 3D stuff then they wouldn't have been laying the foundation for what was to come afterwards so while those 3D games might not be the greatest they were the stepping stones to what was to follow. You can't get to the end results of what we have in gaming unless you have all the pieces to build upon.

I already use eSPXe so for me the update is just a natural progression if you are already using RA it all comes down to if you are willing to switch away from the things you like about it to use something else. The changes are: - First of all, ePSXe 2.0 now requires Windows Vista or superior. While it could work on Windows XP SP2, it has not been tested. - Multi-language support. Currently there is support for English, Spanish, Japanese (thanks to Nekokabu) and Italian (thanks to Domus). If you want to help us translate the emulator to other language let us know at epsxepc@gmail.com. - Added a gamelist window. Now you can open a gamelist window by selecting File->Open Gamelist or clicking on the letters "PSX" from the ePSXe logo. - Improved CPU/overall timing accuracy. - Improved GTE accuracy. and added support for widescreen and subpixel precision (GTE Accuracy hack thank to Edbla). - Ported the Soft GPU from the Android version. The new GPU Core requires a videocard supporting OpenGL2 + GLSL shader. Supporting increased internal resolution at x2/x4, brightness profiles, stretching modes, 2D filters (Thanks to Zenju), Shaders (Thanks to Lottes & Hyllian), Scanlines and Sub-pixel precision. (Special thanks to Pete Bernert :) - Included the Pete Opengl2 GPU core with support for sub-pixel precission (gte accuracy hack) and memory detection. Millions of thanks to Pete Bernert, Tapcio and Edbla. - Teamviewer incompatibility is resolved with the internal GPU plugins. - Added a configuration window to select options for the internal SPU Plugin. - Fixed support for CDDA music in external SPU plugins. - Improved the internal input plugin. Improved multitap andd added autofire support. - Added support for Konami Justifier gun using the mouse. - External Input plugins support. - Added game profile by game. - Improved auto-PPF support. (PPv3 and several files by game) - Improved cheat support. Fixed cheatcodes gameshark conditional, added increment/decrement types (0x10-11, 0x20-21) and copy type (0xc2). - Improved HLE bios emulation. Starting with version 1.9.25, the HLE bios has been improved to support more games: Wild Arms, Jet Moto, Toca World Touring, Simcity 2000. Memcards support was improved for a lot of games such as Dinocrisis 2, Metal Gear Solid, V-Rally2, Diablo, Ridge Racer Type 4, Driver, Echo Night and Azure Dreamns. - Fixes to the CD-ROM decoder and the core which made around to 40 more games playable or better working: Agile Warrior F-111X, Arcade's Greatest Hits - The Atari Collection 2, Blasto (PAL), C-12 - Final Resistance, Captain Commando, Cinema Eikaiwa - Ai No Hate Ni, Cinema Eikaiwa - ArasshigaokaA, Cinema Eikaiwa - Interceptor, Cinema Eikaiwa - Tengoru Ni Ikenai Papa,, Cinema Eikaiwa - This boys life, Cinema Eikaiwa - Zombiew, Duke Nukem - Land of Babes (PAL), Fantastic Night Dreams - Cotton Original, Formula One 2000, Glocal Hexcite, Jumping Flash 2, Legend of Legaia, London Racer 2, Mary-Kate and Ashley - Crush Course (PAL), Mary Kate & Ashley - Magical Mystery Mall (PAL), Medievil, Medievil 2, Metal Slug - Super Vehicle 001, Maboroshi Tsukiyo, Millennium Soldier Expendable, Nightmare Creatures II, Nishijin Packinko Tengoku Vol 2, Perfect Weapon, Psybadek, Rock'n Roll Racing 2 - Red Asphalt (PAL), Rugrats Studio Tour (PAL), SD Gundam G Generation Zero, Sidewinder II, Slots, Soul Blade, Star Wars - Rebel Assault II - The Hidden Empire, Super Pang Collection, The Hive, USA Racer - A2 Racer goes USA, Virtua Pachi-Slot Olympia Special (New logo thanks to Robert Typek)

Launchbox features - load/save game, controller mapping etc?
DOS76 replied to bigsmall999's topic in Noobs
1. LaunchBox just facilitates the launching of the games loading and creating save states is handled solely by the emulators 2. X-Padder is an excellent choice when you don't have any others options available to you. 3. ??? Hope this helps and welcome to the community. -
If you still have the all of the compressed files you can just delete all of those if not you will have to either zip them all back up which would be a nightmare unless you can bulk zip which I don't know about. It may be faster to delete those and grab the ROM set over again.

ColEm and 4DO also have new versions out in the last few months and 4DO is developing a 3DO emulator for Android with another wave of beta tests coming in the future.
-
Nice but I was thinking more along the lines of a post here on the forum were people can report finding new emulators or updated versions of emulators and keep them neat in one post and up at the top emulator section like the emulator settings for all platforms post.
-
I'm on that as soon as I get home. We need a sticky thread that we can make to report emulator updates.
-
Yeah that makes sense my method would launch explorer but once there you would still need to have the keyboard and the mouse to do anything with it. I of course would have a keyboard and mouse for anything I was setting up even if it was a cheap $20 dollar Bluetooth mini keyboard. It still is a computer and there will always be occasions where a controller just won't do everything that you need to do even if they are few and far between.
-
Instead of making a 3rd .bat couldn't you just make an explorer platform called Service that would launch Explorer.exe I've always thought if I ever shelled a version of Windows to run LaunchBox like an appliance that is how I would handle it.

How does the anit-spam work and yeah now that you mention it I see the PM button. @fromlostdays my nephew just called me and he and some friends are going to go see Deadpool its only $5 on Tuesdays so I am meeting up with them and going to see it in the theaters after all.
-
I do go sometimes I saw Star Wars (twice), TMNT, both Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, part 3 of the Hobbit, Entourage and the last X-Men movie. It really all depends on if I have someone to go with or not. Even though you can't talk there or anything I've never in 39 years been to the movies alone and would feel like a loser going by myself. I tried to go Sunday with my nephew but when we went it was sold out for the rest of the night by then different venues became available. If it was being offered in 3D I would probably go check it out If you saw my comic book collection you would say Marvel owes me (not really). As for MAME the import takes a long time if you are getting all of the metadata from GDB and EmuMovies. I just spent a lot of time importing it all for naught the power outage wiped out everything. I will have to check my folders and see if the data it was downloading is in there hopefully it will be.

I offer help and I hi-jack threads that's what I do. Honestly though threads like this once the OP gets their responses they are usually done with the thread unless they need further assistance which they can still ask for. So I hope nobody minds things aren't as rule based around here and threads may be taken over by random post that no longer are relevant to the original question. Also we definitely need some PM or chat function then we can chat about things in private (well except for the NSA listening too).

Nah the lights will come back on eventually.

No worries I just wish the damn electricity would come back on I'm burning through both my mobile data and my laptops battery. Not to mention I had planned to watch Deadpool this afternoon but with no server up I don't have access to any of my media and downloading destroys your data.
