  1. Select all the games in a platform with Control + A on the keyboard.
  2. Try restarting Launchbox and see if that refreshes it.
  3. That checkbox is only for the importing process. To change the emulator for all your games select all the games in a platform by pressing Control + A on the keyboard, then press Control + E to bring up the bulk edit tool. In the first dropdown menu select Emulator and then in the 2nd dropdown menu that appears select the emulator you want to be the emulator used.
  4. .NET 4.7 and DirectX libraries are necessary.

  6. Not sure if this will work for you or not since I have not tried it with those specific cores but I have done it with the Cannonball Outrun core. Make a batch file in your Retroarch folder, edit the bat file with notepad and add the following line to it: retroarch.exe -L "cores\cannonball_libretro.dll" Replace the cannonboall_libretro.dll with the core you want to load. Duplicate the batch file and edit the core being loaded for each. Once this is done simply import the batch files using the importer using the "None of the above" option at the beginning. This should work.
  7. .dim files should work fine. Here is there documentation on the core: https://docs.libretro.com/library/px68k/
  8. Do your games work in Retroarch on it's own ? If no then you need to fix that with either proper disk images or bios. If yes then double check and make sure your Associated Platforms in LB is set up properly, double check the platform name matches what you have your games imported into and that you have the right core being loaded.
  9. Go here: http://cheat.retrogames.com/mame_downloads.htm Download the cheat file that matches your version of Mame. Within that downloaded zip file there will be a readme file and a cheat.7z file, take the cheat.7z file and put it in your Mame folder along side your Mame executable. Open up your mame.ini file and make sure cheats are enabled. Load up a game and press the Tab key on your keyboard, you will see a cheat option. You can now select which character you want in the cheat menu.
  10. Look, I am not going to get into a debate with you over this like you wanted to debate Retroarch and Frame Delay. Computer software and hardware combinations can have all sorts of weird conflicts for no apparent obvious reasons, it's just the nature of the beast. It could be a bad driver, failing hardware or just a driver conflict, it really is difficult to pinpoint sometimes. I know I had a performance issue with Retroarch one time and it turned out to be Nvidias GeForce Experience software even though it didn't impact any other software. This is just one example of how a seemingly unrelated piece of software that only impacted one program caused an issue and it wasn't the one piece of software's (Retroarch) problem, it was Nvidias problem. And neither is a problem for some evidence of a problem for all or most. I don't doubt that you are encountering a problem but without access to your system I can only guess by what you have told me and your video card is a bottleneck. It may or may not be the cause of the issue but on the surface it is the most obvious issue. As I have posted in the performance thread I have an old ass toaster of a computer that is far less powerful than yours other than the graphics card and it handles BigBox without significant issues beyond what is to be expected of such an old computer. If there were performance issues for most people we would have far more complaints than we do get and far fewer people who use the software daily that we interact with who say they don't have these issues. The whole silent majority versus the vocal minority thing. We all know that LB is not the lightest weight frontend out there and Jason is always looking to improve performance where possible and he finds places to make those improvements.
  11. No, I did not shrug it off as a problem with your system specs but it is very tough to troubleshoot these kinds of issues when we have no idea what is actually happening on your computer, we have no clue what other software you may have running in the background that may be interfering or causing conflicts. I will stand by my statement that your graphics card is a huge bottleneck in your system when BigBox does make use of the graphics card. We can only say that these sorts of issues are not happening for the vast majority of people who use LB/BB so if it was the software itself then there would be far more people encountering these kinds of issues. Now it is possible that the latest update which included an updated VLC solved the problem for you, but that is only a guess. VLC has caused some issues in the past for some users but not for other (like myself) which is why the Windows Media Player is also an option.
  12. Are you using any plugins in your LB setup ?
  13. Good to know the order matters, I struggled with getting it to load fullscreen and it never occurred to me that the order of the command line parameters would affect it.
  14. That shouldn't affect the import process, all that means is that you somehow associated the .a52 file extension with VLC so if you double click the file it will open with VLC.
  15. Launchbox itself does not distinguish file types, it will import any file type you wish to import. I'm not sure what you did during your import but as you can see LB recognizes my .a52 files just fine.
  16. We have a thread with links to all sorts of guides and tutorials that covers most of the big stuff.
  17. Where are your roms located ? Are they in your Mame\roms folder ? If no then did you add your rom location to the rompath line in the mame.ini file ?
  18. No idea why though i'm sure Jason has his reasons. I don't think I have ever added a platform using the Tools -> Manage Platforms method, I just drag roms in and make the platform during import. Famicom is just the base system that uses carts the disk system is an add on that uses a sort of floppy disk which has a much larger capacity and was a cheap way to save games without a battery requirement in the cart.
  19. Personally I would do it's own platform, this is what I do for my SNES MSU collection, but you can do it either way you want, just remember to add the new platform to the emulators associated platforms if you do go this route.
  20. No, you can have as many in there as you want, RA will only look for the correctly named ones and whether or not they are the correct checksum value, a wrong checksum value doesn't necessarily mean it won't work but a proper one will definitely work as long as it is named correctly.
  21. My guess is the rom file type you are using, it's right in the error message "Unrecognized file format".
  22. No problem, reinstalling the latest installer from the updates folder is always the first place to start when issues with starting up arise and you can always go back to the last official release if you are using the betas and it borks something.
  23. Sounds like you cancelled out an update installation and now you have a borked install of LB, run the latest update installer from your \Launchbox\Updates folder and let it do it's thing. See if that fixes it up for you.
