  1. The default command line will always be: -L "cores\core_name.dll" and you can get the exact core name by looking in the \Retroarch\cores\ folderSo for example if I wanted to change the Super Nintendo core in Launchbox to use the SNes9x core I would edit the line to: -L "cores\snes9x_libretro.dll" Make sure the L is capitalized and watch for spaces and quotes, little typos can totally mess it all up.
  2. Android and Linux versions of Launchbox are being looked into for feasibility but nothing is confirmed one way or the other at this moment in time as either would take quite a bit of resources to do.
  3. The 5200 just has mostly sucky emulators, I suggest using Mame / Mess though it does have some minor controller issues with a couple of games it is the easiest to setup. Altirra is the better emulator but the controller setup is kind of confusing.
  4. Goodset : Every rom 90% console (spc and sid music files too) that have ever existed No-Intro : Clean dumps of all console cartridges (and a few other bits too ipf files (amiga and spectrum as well as c64 stuff too) Clean dumps!!!
  5. You can bulk edit your rom location. Select all the games of a platform and use the Change ROMS Folder tool.
  6. Plus you can use the AutoHotkey Scripts tab of the Edit Emulator window for any problematic emulators.
  7. Yeah, it's a premium feature in Launchbox under the Controller Automation section.
  8. Version 8.0 - Released February 14, 2018 - New Premium Feature: Big Box now includes a built-in PDF/browser viewer for manuals that can be controlled with all existing controllers. This is implemented via the Chromium Embedded Framework (an embedded, open-source version of Google Chrome). If desired, this can be disabled under the Big Box General options. - New Feature: Retroarch Netplay support is now built-in to LaunchBox and Big Box, largely thanks to Izegod from the forums who built a plugin for it! Simply right-click on a supported game and select Retroarch Netplay in LaunchBox, or access the Retroarch Netplay options from the game details menu in Big Box. - New Feature: A new "Download Updated Community Star Ratings" option is available under the Tools menu in LaunchBox; this makes it much easier and faster to update star ratings, rather than having to run the Download Metadata and Media wizard. - Improvement: LaunchBox and Big Box startup times have been significantly reduced. The "Populating Platforms" portion of the startup screen should now be instantaneous in most situations. - Improvement: LaunchBox now supports jump to game by letter (press an alphanumeric key on the keyboard), similar to Windows Explorer - Improvement: The LaunchBox Welcome form has been revamped and modernized - Improvement: Added community star ratings support to the LaunchBox Plugin API. The following fields have been added to the IGame interface: CommunityOrLocalStarRating, StarRatingFloat, CommunityStarRating, and CommunityStarRatingTotalVotes. See the documentation here: http://pluginapi.launchbox-app.com/html/b33d2055-e2be-3f42-12c6-adbc5668f454.htm - Improvement: Added retro achievements support to the LaunchBox Plugin API. See the new Unbroken.LaunchBox.Plugins.RetroAchievements namespace for details. Documentation is here: http://pluginapi.launchbox-app.com/ - Improvement: Retro achievements will now use alternate names from the games database if the game is not found; this requires the game to be already matched up to a LaunchBox Games Database ID - Improvement: The Big Box wall view now supports videos for custom themes - Improvement: The FilterTitle property is now available for all games views in Big Box custom themes - Improvement: The included version of ScummVM has been updated to the latest version! The ScummVM games list has also been updated. - Improvement: The Big Box star rating popup has been changed to jump only to half-star and whole-star values; in addition, pressing the Back button/key will no longer save the changed star rating. Pressing the select/enter key/button will, of course, save the value. - Fixed: Valve/Steam decided to kill our API Key for no apparent reason (or at least none that we received any communication about), which broke the Steam import wizard. This has been fixed with a new API key. Hopefully they don't kill this one... - Fixed: Retro Achievements were causing errors to pop up in LaunchBox if the retroachievements.org website went down - Fixed: Some Big Box theme combinations resulted in issues saving different views for each platform - Fixed: The game details sidebar in LaunchBox was not remembering its sizing when closed and restarting LaunchBox
  9. If only that one single feature would make Launchbox "perfect" for everyone, the fact of the matter is that there is still a ton of features to be added that will improve Launchbox. The good news though is Jason is constantly working on new stuff and adding it in all the time and maybe this feature will make it into the next poll which will be coming up once the 8.0 release goes official.
  10. Take a look at this site for any games you have: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Home Here is a specific page for the game you are using as an example: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Commandos:_Beyond_the_Call_of_Duty
  11. OP is me, the Original Poster As for your question, to play old DOS games you will want to use DOSbox, there are guides on that. For older Windows games there are no emulators but you may have to do some extra work to get a game to work and what that entails will vary from game to game, there is no easy one answer for it.
  12. That's impressive it can handle Royale which is a pretty heavy shader.
  13. Integrated video chips are notoriously limited in what they can do, they are essentially super bare bones and can only handle a limited amount of stuff.
  14. They could be imported under a different name depending your import settings. I have Caveman Ninja and Guerilla war in my collection (didn't see the others). Caveman Ninja could ne Joe & Mac though for example.
  15. Yeah I don't know if Parallel works with netplay or not, but the theory is that any core that supports save states will support netplay but in turn can severely impact the games performance to the point on unplayability which to my knowledge was still an issue with Mupen64 as well. Your mileage may vary of course
  16. Certain games may need specific core settings to make them work, it's just the nature of N64 emulation. Though if you have the CPU to drive it the Parallel core is more accurate and should require less tinkering with settings to make games work. You can read more about it here https://www.libretro.com/index.php/parallel-n64-with-multithreaded-angrylion-released/
  17. Yeah you can copy of the saves and states folder and any other folder you want though of course if you copy over the config folder you maybe copying over something that is causing the issue to begin with.
