Yeah I don't think either of the videos mention the AHK script at all and I know it is here in a few places on the forums since it is something that has been brought up before. The AHK script feature of Launchbox is very handy for certain problematic emulators such as ePSXe and Higan. Glad you got it working the way you want it to now.
-
Are you using the command line parameter: -nogui -slowboot -loadbin And the AHK script: $Esc:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} } to close it out ?

I would assume simply copying over the .cfg files to the cfg folder should be just fine, I can't say that for certain though since I have never done it myself.

It could very well be that those older versions didn't mind the mame.ini being in the ini folder and launching Mame via command line through Launchbox.
-
Good to hear, there seems to be an issue with Mame where if the mame.ini file is located in the ini folder it doesn't read it when launched through Launchbox (maybe other frontends as well but I don't know). One of the first steps I have in my guide is with a new install of Mame is to generate a mame.ini file using the command line parameter -cc, this generates the mame.ini file right in the main folder.
-
Ok. Try copying your mame.ini file into the main Mame folder where the executable is located.

But with Mame 192 do all games not load or only some ?
-
Is this problem with some games or all games ?
-
Vectrex is also very easy to setup and use using the vecx core in Retroarch and Mame.

Like I said, if that works for you that's great and it's personal preference. To me it just looks really awkward for a natural hand placement. I remember in the old arcade days when I would come across some Street Fighter conversion cabinet and it would have some weird layout similar to yours and it just plain sucked to try and play anything on it. I found trying to hit the upper buttons I always accidentally hit the lower buttons because of the weird angles. I also would never play a console game with an arcade stick, only arcade games but that's just me.

If that works for you that's great, it's personal preference but that is one weird button layout. I don't mean the button labels but the actual positioning of the buttons in relation to each other. Here's a bunch of layouts that are considered the standard and more comfortable general purpose layouts http://slagcoin.com/joystick/layout.html The bottom 3 are kinda over the top since no one really needs that number of buttons for anything.

Yes, you can do this now.

https://m64p.github.io/ That's the version I am using there.

I have Mupen64plus with the gui and it loads just fine with no command line parameters at all, it closes with Escape key just fine as well.

Yeah, if you are a "noob" stay away from RocketLauncher, it's a very complicated and over whelming program.

Not to get into the whole RocketLauncher debate again (because there always seems to be one), it has a few benefits but none of it is necessary for the vast majority of users and most of it is cosmetic and it is most certainly in the category of "for advanced users".

Same here, RocketLauncher is one of those things very few of the mods around here use so any questions regarding that will have to be answered by people who actually use it.

Then it won't matter at all. Edit: That all gets cached into the systems RAM anyways.

In my personal experience SSDs really only improve performance when it comes to Windows boot up times when Windows is installed on one or the loading of larger games such as GTA V, Battlefield maps and other large open world games like MMOs (ex: WoW), keep in mind this is the just the loading times and not the actual frame rates once loaded.

Just to clarify, those are not separate platforms, they are "Playlists" which are different.

I have all mine on a standard run of the mill 2 TB hard drive, nothing fancy at all and performance is perfectly fine.

I believe it's been determined that type of hard drive (SSD vs HDD) has little to no impact on Launchbox performance itself. You may run into load time issues though with larger games such as PS2 due to the USB transfer speeds.
