  1. If you have some games not working and some that do then that would mean that you are either not loading the cue file for the games not working or they are bad dumps. If those non working games do work in the stand alone version they should work in the RA core as well.
  2. Yeah for sure, I doubt many people will want to do that.
  3. Can you not remap it in the controller settings in BigBox ? You should be able to navigate to it using the keyboard and press enter and then the button you want for Select and Play in the Controller Buttons section.
  4. Stand alone Mednafen is excellent, there is no question about it and the Retroarch version of the cores are pretty much kept up to date with it.
  5. I haven't used the stand alone Mednafen in a while and not at all for PS1 emulation. I have used it for Saturn and a while back for TurboGrafx / PC Engine and there was never a problem with either. Does the problem exist with other systems that Mednafen emulates ? Have you considered using Retroarch and its Mednafen (Beetle) core ? It's what I use and it is really good.
  6. Unfortunately I don't have any ideas on it, it doesn't do that to me.
  7. I believe @Vlansix and / or @Jason Carr have been doing work on the site and the database lately so that could be it. I don't know if that is the actual case though.
  8. I have not experienced this at all so far. Is this in both Launchbox or BigBox or both ? Does it happen with all your emulators or only a select few ? If only a select few which ones does it do it for and which does it not do it for ?

    hello

Nope, any toxic behavior here will be met with swift and harsh bans. Welcome and has been stated feel free to ask any questions and you can feel free to join us on Discord as well if you like. https://discord.gg/X3Cwsyw
  10. This may become a thing at some point in the future but don't hold your breath waiting for it. There has been some discussion and interest in a Linux version but right now that is not a viable option. Jason has too many things to work on still for the Windows version to spend time trying to code up a Linux or an Android version. Something like this would require hiring and paying another programmer and that wouldn't be cheap and then of course you have to look at the potential user base which is not all the big when it comes to Linux sadly.
  11. It will probably be the same as the current BSnes Accuracy core or a tad higher but probably not as much as the Beetle (Mednafen) Saturn core. I agree with @Zombeaver that this sort of a "meh" thing but I am good with it happening. I don't really see any downside to having the most advanced and accurate option available.
  12. Good to hear you got it working.
  13. Checking on here https://pastebin.com/18W3EbD0 it looks to me like your command line would be astrocde -cart I also just noticed that you don't need to put the rom paths to each system, but I still have my bios files in the \roms\ folder of Mame. I'm still tinkering around with it to see what else I can figure out though. I did find that The Adventures of Batman and Robin doesn't work for some reason, maybe a bad or incomplete bios.
  14. Like I said, i dumped my bios in the Mame\roms\ folder but I think you can have them anywhere as long as you point your mame.ini rom path to it. Here is my current rompath line in my mame.ini file with the new tester setup for this. rompath "roms;H:\Emulation\Roms\Genesis\;H:\Emulation\Roms\Atari 5200\" rompath "roms;H:\Emulation\Roms\Genesis\;H:\Emulation\Roms\Atari 5200\" The bios files are in the \roms\ folder and then I also point to my Genesis and 5200 roms separating each with a semi colon ;
  15. I don't know if that matters for console games or not but I have mine unchecked. Here's a couple of screencaps of my emulator settings in Launchbox, just 2 tester systems in it for now but both work perfectly.
  16. I'm sure you could dump all the bios files in a separate folder instead of the actual \mame\roms\ folder to keep things better organized if you like but this install of Mame I am using is for consoles and computers only.
  17. So I just went and set up a copy of Mame to do this and it worked perfectly using all the info I gave previously.
  18. Unfortunately I cannot give you the exact answer to your question because I don't use Mame for other systems like consoles, I do however use a build of stand alone Mess from back before they re-merged Mess and Mame. While what I will tell you is not exactly the same as it would be with Mess most of the key things to do will be. With my Mess setup what I do is I dump the bios files into my Mess\roms\ folder, they can probably go in the folder with games but this way was reliable for me. Then in my mess.ini I added the paths to the location of the roms for the systems I wanted to use Mess for. Depending on how many systems you are planning on doing this for it gets very long. Here is my rompath in mess.ini rompath "roms;E:\Downloaded Games\Emulation\Roms\Mame Full;H:\Emulation\Roms\Atari 5200\;H:\Emulation\Roms\CD-i\;H:\Emulation\Emulators\Mess\roms\;H:\Emulation\Roms\NeoGeo CD\;H:\Emulation\Roms\Coleco Vision\;H:\Emulation\Roms\Atari 7800\;H:\Emulation\Roms\Atari Lynx\;H:\Emulation\Roms\FM-Towns Marty\;H:\Emulation\Roms\NEC PC-98\;H:\Emulation\Roms\Fairchild\;H:\Emulation\Roms\Amstrad CPC\" Each games path is separated by a semi colon ; Next in Launchbox you need to add all the systems to the associated platforms of the emulator and each one will have a very specific command based on the system and type of media such as floppy, cd or tape. Here is a screenshot of my Mess associated platforms to give you an idea of how they need to be.For other systems here is a chart showing all the systems with the system name and media type you need to use in the command line along with the supported media types. https://pastebin.com/18W3EbD0 I hope this at least gets you pointed in the somewhat right direction. I know Mame handles things somewhat similar but there are some minor differences. I will have to try and tackle it again sometime with Mame instead of Mess 177 which is the version I currently use.
  19. With a game loaded using the Mame core open the Retroarch UI using F1, then Quick Menu > Options and turn on "Enable in-game mouse". This may or may not work for you, I tried it out and it did not work but my core is also not the latest so I don't know. I do know that the mouse works perfectly fine in the stand alone version of Mame which is what I prefer to use myself.
  20. Well once he releases the code it should be a done deal even if he gets all pissy. While a Higan core will be nice because it is more up to date it really isn't that big of a deal IMO. I mean it's not like the SNES side of BSnes / Higan has been changed or improved that much since the code base for the current BSnes cores in Retroarch. And many of the improvements managed to get backported to the cores. Still cool to see this done though.
  21. I always manually generate a mame.ini file by running mame64.exe -cc the first thing after a fresh Mame install.
  22. I'm also probably weird in the fact I actually don't care about clear logos or wheel art, I have stupidly minimalist tastes.
  23. It would be even cleaner if you didn't use the clear logos or "wheel buttons". I just use the plain text wheel lists, that way you don't have anything sticking out like a sore thumb because of missing art and I don't have to worry about tracking down or making art for games that don't have it like rom hacks. Just my personal preference and taste though of course
