  1. For N64 you are getting a black screen probably because you are upscaling the resolution and that messes with the shader. I would just suggest setting the resolution in the core settings to your monitors native resolution and be done with it. I think it looks about as good as you are going to get for an N64 game. GLupeN64 is no longer a thing using that name, it is now back under the Mupen64plus core and the old Mupen64 core is under the ParaLLEi core. Use the Mupen64plus core now. For other systems I use Retroarch where possible but for Dreamcast I use Demul, and PSP I use the stand alone build of PPSSPP. The stand alone emulators for these systems are better than the Retroarch cores. Mame is a toss up between the RA core and stand alone when it comes to the latest versions. They are both very close in terms of quality with very minor differences separating them and neither has a definitive edge over the other. However if you are using an older version of a Mame core then the stand alone is a much better choice over the Retroarch core.
  2. The GLupeN64 core in Retroarch is no longer a thing, it is now rolled up in the Mupen64plus core and the old Mupen64 core is now rolled up into the ParaLLEi core. So if you want to use Retroarch for N64 use the Mupen64plus core.
  3. It's fine to have it installed as long as you were careful during the installation to not install the shitware with it.
  4. Not sure if this is a response you are looking for but what I do is have shortcut files to all my Windows games in a folder and this acts like a roms folder. I then drag those shortcut files in to Launchbox like any other roms for any other emulator. Then in the import process it will ask for an emulator just pick any emulator from your list, it doesn't matter which because it will get changed after, also pick the Windows platform. Once your games are imported and scraped (which should go smoothly assuming your shortcut files are properly named) then select all the games, right click and pick edit. This will bring up the bulk edit wizard where you change the emulator for these games to none. Now you have all your Windows games imported into Launchbox and they all have their metadata and images and load like any other shortcut file.
  5. Probably a problem with doing it that way since the 5 bins aren't actual disk images in this case. If you have Daemon Tools and ImageBurn installed try my method above and see if you have better luck.
  6. I converted mine to pbp and the music works just fine, though keep in mind I only tested it up to the the title screen where you select "New Game" or "Continue". The Redump image was a cue + 5 bin files which I first converted to a cue + single bin by mounting the cue with Daemon Tools and re-dumping it using ImageBurn. Then I used PSX2PSPv1.4.2 to convert it to .pbp.
  7. I don't know of any alternatives, I guess it could be that Ogre Battle is one of the small selection of games that does not like the conversion to pbp.
  8. Did you try the image before converting it to pbp ? It could be possible that the pbp conversion is causing a problem, it isn't 100% though it is pretty damn good.
  9. The new image from "Redump" has the missing audio so it was the old disk image that was the problem.
  10. I am downloading a "Redump" version of the game right now to test out in a few minutes.
  11. I don't believe there are "No-Intro" dumps of cd based games but there are other groups such as "Redump" and "Dark Water".
  12. The 2.3 installer is clean of ad-ware and shit but there is a nag screen if you use the emulator enough times using it's built in UI. Using it through Launchbox won't give you the nag screen at all but if you want to make sure you never see it go into the \Config folder and open the Project64.cfg file in notepad and set Run Count=-1 [Support Project64] Run Count=-1
  13. There is no music there for me so I tried it with ePSXe and the same problem so I am guessing right now there is a problem with the image file. I will see if I can find another one and see if that fixes the problem.
  14. Hmm, weird. Mine is in cue + bin but all the music appears to be working fine. The music plays during character creation and during the map screen where you move around but that is as far as I have tested.
  15. Is your game a cue + bin or does it have external audio files ?
  16. Rom sets and Mame version don't have to match perfectly but the further apart they are the more likely you are to run into problems. I used a 154 romset for a long time with versions of Mame up to 177. I only updated with 178 and still use 178 roms with new versions of Mame.
  17. Yeah we can't tell you directly where to get updated roms but there is a certain dome of pleasure that is a wonderful place to look.
  18. If you decide to not update your roms and wish to set up each game with a specific emulator that is possible. You would need to setup each emulator in Launchbox, just name each one with a distinctive name so you know precisely which one it is. From there you can edit each game and change which emulator it uses. Or if you would rather use Retroarch with different cores you could still have them use Retroarch as the emulator and then custom command line parameters for each game telling it to load a specific core that works for that game. This will be time consuming though depending on how many games you have. My recommendation is to get a new rom set and Mame but I do understand if that is not an option for you.
  19. I removed the link you had posted but I understand what you are talking about, we just can't be linking to sites that have roms let alone sites that sell roms. You say that you got those disks 6 years so I am not exactly sure what rom set version those roms would be from. If you can determine what rom set version those are from that would make deciding which version of Mame to use easier. Different versions of Mame use different rom set versions, over the years the roms have changed because of better dumps and newer features requiring certain extra files. One example of this was recently with Mame 178 and the Capcom CPS2 roms. These games had an encrypted "kill" chip that previously was not emulated but then it became decrypted and emulated. The roms then needed to be updated to contain a .key file which was the decryption. If you can determine the exact rom set version you have then you could download an older version of Mame matching your roms from the Mame website, they have all the older builds available there. But like @zannyukyou may be better off obtaining a new up to date rom set and Mame. If you need a guide for Mame and help with it I have a guide here and always willing to help out.
  20. If you could provide more details like which games and systems you are running into issues with that would be really helpful for us to help you. Some systems like CD based ones (eg: PSX, Sega CD and Saturn) require bios files. Some cores such as the Saturn one can be very particular about its images and how they are dumped, also Playstation requires you to load the cue file and not the bin. Arcade games can be a bit more troublesome if you do not have a full set because you may be missing required parent or bios roms. Also with the arcade stuff like Mame and FBA you sort of need to know what rom set your roms are and then you can pick which Mame core you use based off of that since each core is based off a specific build of Mame.
  21. The fbalpha_libretro.dll core should work fine if your rom set is is up to date, if not then the fbalpha2012_libretro.dll might be better for your roms.
  22. 2.3 is the latest release that I am aware of.
  23. Do you have V-Sync turned On ? If so try turning it off and also check to see if your TV has a "gaming mode".
