  1. There are known issues with 4K TVs according to posts on their forums. Some of the fixes that I have seen posted is to either turn Hard GPU Sync "Off" or to set the Hard GPU Sync Frames to "1". Setting the Sync Frames to 1 is the preferred option of the 2 so try that one first and see if it fixes it for you.
  2. With that CPU @ 1.84 GHz you may run into some issues with Dreamcast, Saturn and possibly N64 emulation depending on the emulators you want to use. Retroarch cores, Demul and Mednafen are definitely out of the question though you may have some better luck with SSF for Saturn, ePSXe for PSX and NullDC for Dreamcast. Keep in mind though I have no experience with this specific CPU so your mileage may be better than expected. I just know from previous experience with processors at that speed emulating those systems can be problematic.
  3. Yeah when I make my videos I just do them in one take. I'm too lazy to learn how to use editing software like Premiere or Vegas, lol.
  4. If you need to compress videos further for uploading and your upload speed is not the best (like mine @ 2 Mbit /s) use a program called Handbrake. It is free and does a fairly decent job but obviously if you have good upload speed and uploading a larger file is not a problem then that is best but compressing with Handbrake https://handbrake.fr/ can help you out if needed. I use it when I make videos to upload and I don't want to wait all day for a 10 minute video to upload.
  5. Ok I tacked on a short Part 5 at the end of the guide with a link to the the controller configuration page you linked.
  6. I have since fixed my issues with the Cotton games, it was my disk images.

You may as well get the version of Mame that matches your set here. http://mamedev.org/oldrel.html

Yeah that rom set is way out of date for that version of Mame. You should either look into updating your romset or use a version of Mame to match your roms.

What romset and mame version are you using ? The error message is a missing rom.

You can check out the guide I made here:
  11. You can add your own media to your local install of Launchbox without the database, just drop the artwork in the appropriate folders. Just look in the "Images" folder and you will quickly see the folder structure used and where to put your artwork.
  12. I am glad you found the guide useful. There is 2 reasons I left the controller stuff out of it though. The first is because at the time of writing it 1.3.6 was and still is the official stable build and things have changed with 1.4.1. The 2nd reason is because different controllers are handled differently and there would be no way for me to cover them all.
  13. It would be added like any other platform. You can simply add it yourself along with metadata and images. And then of course people can add it to the database with metadata and images. But saying it's a little early is a giant understatement.
  14. You still get to keep the use of BigBox and premium features, you just lose the ability to update.
  15. Either your emulator path is wrong or your command line for the core is wrong.
  16. It doesn't work that way, the check is just for the default emulator when importing. Remove the entry for the Snes9x core all together or change that one to use the bsnes core.
  17. The first thing that stands out to me is that your example command line you are telling Retroarch to use the bsnes_balanced core but in Launchbox you are using the snes9x core. Make sure that the core in the command line parameters in Launchbox match up with the core you have downloaded and wish to use.
  18. My experience with Reshade is that its "crt scanline" preset is not very good and you have to do a lot of manual tweaking to get something looking somewhat decent. I did get it tweaked with SSF after a while of tweaking numbers.
  19. My favourite shader lately is crt-aperture. It's simple, looks good overall, looks good with integer and non integer scalling and even on vertical arcade games.
  20. It should be good enough for most shaders but you will have to try em out and see how they perform for you.
  21. Shaders are setup in the emulators themselves.
  22. What sort of video card do you have ? Is it a dedicated gaming GPU or is it an on board Intel (or similar) video ? Currently my favourite CRT shader is crt-aperture found in the crt folder but easymode-halation and the hyllian shaders are still extremely good. Royale-Kurozumi is still a very good shader but it does require a decent GPU and it has an awful glow effect that is not so easily removed anymore but give it a try anyways and see what you think about it. If you video is on board and not very powerful causing major slowdown with a shader give the crt-pi shader a try. Like I and may others have said before there is a lot of personal preference and the exact look you are looking for in a shader. Some people want to replicate a consumer grade crt tv while others prefer the pvm \ bvm look with thicker scanlines.
