I wouldn't call them "scum of the earth" as much as I would call them "uninformed morons" that think because something is a tool for people who use emulators it is "illegal".

Tools > Download Metadata and Media This should rescrape all the data for the platform you have selected.

When it asks for an emulator just pick any from the list, it doesn't matter which one. Once the game is imported edit the game in LB and uncheck "Use an emulator" for that game. Also on a side note there is a Windows platform for scraping purposes.

MAME game runs in MAME64 but not in LaunchBox
Lordmonkus replied to Dave B.'s topic in Troubleshooting
That is very odd if all your games are working in Mame outside of and inside Launchbox but one game is not working through Launchbox. Did you change the setting for that one game like to a different emulator by any chance ? I have done that in the past and been like "WTF !? Why won't this one game work ?" only to realize I changed something to test and forgot to change it back. -
You can have multiple versions of Mame. Just add each version to your emulators list in Launchbox and name them differently so you can tell them apart. Then you can assign whichever version to whichever game you want by editing the game and changing its emulator, pick the version of Mame you want in the emulator dropdown menu.

MAME game runs in MAME64 but not in LaunchBox
Lordmonkus replied to Dave B.'s topic in Troubleshooting
Are your other Mame games working through Launchbox ? -
It was a resolution error from what I recall. Unfortunately I cannot double check it because I have deleted my FBA setup when I did a major cleanup of emulators I no longer had any use for at all.

I haven't watched Austins video but does it deal with Launchbox and Dolphin ? What @Ted777said above might be something to look into.
-
Have you watched this video ?

I don't think there is one. I wanted to have the XM6 Pro emulator for X68000 but I ran into a variety of issues and ended up settling on using Mess to emulate it.

playstation3 RPCS3 PS3 Emulator for PC with Launchbox?!
Lordmonkus replied to ResidentEvul13's topic in Emulation
A usable PS3 emulator is several years away. By usable I mean an emulator that doesn't rely on a $5000 PC and runs more than a small handful of games at a shitty framerate. Then you have to take the games into consideration, they are on Blurays and they are quite large to download if you can even find them. I recommend anyone wanting to play PS3 that badly to go buy one and buy the games second hand, it's extremely affordable right now with everyone selling theirs off for PS4s and XBones. -
LaunchBoxPCSX2, an in-between launcher for LaunchBox and PCSX2

I have not tried it with cso files at all but the only image type I had any issues with so far was img format. -
You would have to read the readme supplied with the patch. Some patches require headered roms and some want non headered, it depends on where the patch is writing to in the rom.

Daphne Laser Disc emulator - a comprehensive tutorial

Best way to import Windows games is to import the shortcut files to the exe like any other rom but under the Windows platform and have no emulator for it. -
Daphne Laser Disc emulator - a comprehensive tutorial

Not that I am aware of. -
No, Dolphin is not a part of Retroarch yet. Only early screenshots of work in progress and has a long ways to go yet before it's even something to think about. Stick to Dolphin on its own.
-
Simply make a new emulator in Launchbox and input all your platform command line parameters. You would have to change your games emulator, either one at a time if you just want to try a couple of them out with the new version or select all and then edit to bulk edit the emulator.
-
I'd just recommend installing to a new folder instead of overwriting your working install.
-
I never had luck with it in the stable 1.3.6 builds.

Are you using a No-Intro rom set ? That is the defacto standard set which Retroarch uses, it can support others of course but the No-Intro is highly recommended. And just for a reference link here is the compatibility list for Snes9x showing which games are problematic to begin with. I realize that the games you mention aren't on these lists but I just thought I would link it here anyways. https://wiki.libretro.com/index.php?title=Nintendo_SNES_Core_Compatibility#SNES9x

LaunchBoxPCSX2, an in-between launcher for LaunchBox and PCSX2
Lordmonkus replied to XoRRoX's topic in Features
A very good alternative to this program is Sepctabis http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Spectabis-Advanced-Game-Launcher-Frontend Setting up Spectabis to be the emulator in Launchbox and then importing your PS2 games into Spectabis and configuring each game in it is a much more intuitive way in my opinion. Just an alternative that is all. -
I have thought about making a guide for netplay but since it is still in its early days things could change drastically so I will just throw together this quick and dirty guide here. 1: To host or connect to another player you will need to set a username in Retroarch. This is done in the Users section of the "cogwheel" section of the Retroarch menu. 2: You will need to have roms with the same CRC as the host. Generally speaking mist people are going to be using the "No-Intro" rom sets for consoles, arcade games are going to be a bit more tricky with this in terms of every one having the same sets and there is no easy way around this at this point in time. 3: If you plan on hosting you will need to set up a "port forwarding" rule in your router, port 55435 is the default port that Retroarch uses. If you need to know more about this look up guides based on your routers make and model, they all differ slightly. 4: Not all cores work or work well, refer to this page for now for what does and does not work and settings https://github.com/GregorR/RetroArch/wiki/Netplay-core-testing So far the best cores that I have tested and used is GenesisGX, Snes9x, Fceumm and FBA. The latest Mame core does not work, I have asked Radius on the Retroarch Discord channel and he told me it doesnt. Nestopia may work with some setting tweaks on the previously linked page but I have yet to test it but in the testing I have done I can connect to a host briefly and then get disconnected. 5: If you get a message saying "Incompatible Content" it means your roms do not match the hosts. 6: To connect to a host you will need to scan your roms into Retroarch using the "Scan Directory" tool, Retroarch uses the info from the rom to compare it before attempting to connect. 7: Some people have had issues using the "Scan Directory" tool to generate a playlist, you can get around this by using a playlist generator tool such as this one https://forums.libretro.com/t/rom-scanning-tool-for-windows/4802. If you have troubles scanning using the "Scan Directory" tool download either the FBA or Mame core even if you do not use those cores. This is something I read on the Retroarch Discord channel to fix this problem and I cannot confirm this works or doesn't because I have not had this problem myself. You should only generate a playlist using the Retroarch Scan Directory tool. Generating a playlist with the playlist tool linked above wil generate a playlist but the roms will not have a "crc" which is required in the playlist to join games. If you are hosting you do not need to have a playlist with crc values but the client must have it. 8: To join a host all you need to do is open Retroarch and then navigate across the menu to the WiFi looking icon and refresh. A list of servers will appear, just highlight one to see what game and core they are using and click them to join. If you run into problems beyond this guide I really am of no use so please don't ask me because I am still figuring all this out on the fly like everyone else. When netplay gets further progressed and more settled down I will maybe write up a more up to date guide.
