  1. Please do not ask for roms here. The game works in Mame if you have the proper rom for your Mame version. Also check for the other name of the game, Green Beret.
  2. This needs to be repeated. Downloading so many different smaller files takes much longer than people think it should. Each file is a new request to the server which tends to take more time than the actual download time of the file. You see this on your computer as well if you have ever copied a large folder of small files versus copying a single large file, the folder with a lot of small files takes much longer to copy. Also bear in mind we have seen issues with users on certain ISPs, especially from parts of the world like Australia or certain American ISPs. If you want a quick import just scrape the basic files you need first like box art and gameplay screenshots. Leave the stuff like videos and fan art for a later time. You can always go back in and re-scrape for that media only at a later time.
  3. This is why I said "essentially break", Launchbox will still function but you will lose any platforms you had imported or reset a bunch of stuff.
  4. In simple terms xml files are the configuration files that tells LB/BB what and how to display all the data, images and games. Deleting them will essentially break LB/BB.
  5. Close LB and roll back to a backup arcade platform xml file in your Launchbox\Backups folder. Make a backup of your current one first though just in case the backup you replace it with is not to your liking.
  6. A No- Intro SNES set is only around 3500 files including special chip dumps. I don't know what rom set you are trying to import but if i had to guess I would say it is a GoodSet which has many duplicate games.
  7. My suggestion, get a No-Intro set of roms for cart based consoles. They work flawlessly with normal emulators. Mame is great for arcade and in some cases is the best / only option for certain systems but for many systems Mame emulation is just not very good at all and if you did need to use Mame for a non arcade system then you can still use a No-Intro rom set.
  8. Please use the bitbucket page to request features. You can get there by clicking Help & Support at the top of this site and then click Request A Feature. Feature requests here on the forums get lost in void.
  9. Sorry, I can't help with bezels at all. I don't like 'em so I don't use 'em.
  10. Unless they changed something since I set it up then no. You can use the same install and setup of Mame but you will need to have 2 instances of Mame in LB with different check box settings.
  11. I use 2 different Mame installs for my own personal organization reasons, no other reason at all.
  12. You need bios for every system and Mame needs to know where they are. Also, using Mame for non arcade systems requires different check box settings than for arcade games.
  13. https://pastebin.com/18W3EbD0 Above is a table of systems and command line parameters, you want the system column and brief column information and below is a screenshot of examples in LB.
  14. You are free to use whatever emulator you choose. We just choose to use Retroarch because of the extra little things it brings to the table like better sound options for adjust audio latency, better input latency options including frame delay and runahead and it has amazing shaders. All of these things are just final tweaks to fine tune the emulation to your liking and your hardware. Retroarch is mostly a set up once and it's good across all the cores minus the bios and certain specific core needs.
  15. Enabling HLSL on its own should not mess with the screen size, it doesn't for me but it looks like when used with bezels it does change it.
  16. LB does that for split and merged as well, it uses mames database file.

    228 merged roms

With mame rom sets the bios come with it, just leave them as is. The greyed out games are clones, they are there and counted and should work.

If you messed up the ini file just delete it and let Mame generate a new one.

My guide explains what to do with the roms and how to get Mame to work. If your roms are in the /roms sub folder of Mame and not a sub folder you do not need to tell Mame in the mame.ini where they are. /roms is the default location.

Then move your roms into the /roms folder, no sub folder.

No, you can have them wherever you want but you need to tell mame where that is. Do you mean like mame/roms/Mame 0.288 Roms or something.

Did you put your roms in the /roms sub folder of your mame folder or did you tell Mame where to look for your roms if you have them elsewhere.

The merged set and chd set are separate downloads. Your merged set shouldn't be missing any roms. Are you talking about actual missing roms or are you talking about in Launchbox after importing ?
  24. If you only want one set of roms and not waste drive space by having a non merged set I would only keep a split set. Non Merged is only good if you want to pull out smaller individual rom set by hand but is double the drive space.
