  1. I've created a ticket on Bitbucket for this problem a while ago. Feel free to vote it up so it gets a higher priority for Jason to integrate it. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/334/add-nec-pc-engine-pc-engine-cd-and There's also a ticket for integrating region based metadata/artwork import: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/314/differentiate-between-and-scrape-metadata
  2. RL can extract games from 7z, zip or rar files when you start a game. So you can compress your games even if an emulator don’t support these file formats. And no there is absolutely no loss in performance. It just adds at game start some loading time for you to wait until it’s decompressed. It even deletes the temporary extracted files when you quit the game. It also features a customizable fade in and fade out when you start or exit a game, has a pretty decent bezel support for all emulators, features automatically ISO mount and de-mount with Deamon Tools and supports individual xpadder profiles for single games or whole platforms. Furthermore it has a feature called HyperPause. With HP you can pause every emulator even if the emulator doesn’t support it by itself and within the pause menu you can view manuals, guides, etc. Some frontends like HyperSpin need RocketLauncher to work properly. So when former HyperSpin users switch to LaunchBox it’s just more comfortable for them to use their already set up RL then configure everything again in LaunchBox.
  3. Here's the Bitbucket Ticket: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/311/nested-filters Feel free to vote it up, Jason always trys to implement the features with the highest upvotes.
  4. I use XBox 360 controllers for navigation and every game which supports a analog stick and my PS4 controllers when I play actual PlayStation games or need a good D-Pad. But I also have a wired Xbox 360 MadCatz Street Fighter ArcadeStick which I mainly use for actual arcade games(MAME) and I use my WiiMotes in combination with the DolphinBar for Wii emulation. In the future I want to buy 2 AimTrack Lightguns to play, well, lightgun games :)
  5. Haha, now that’s what I call a bad coincidence. I hope they haven’t changed much in the configuration menus so that your tutorial would still be up to date.
  6. Back in the day when I used Advanced Launcher for Kodi(XBMC) as my gaming frontend I used the platform banners from this thread: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=106921 Maybe they are useful for someone. Personally I really really like them.
  7. I also can recommend to search for HyperSpin Ready Romsets. They normally include every released US game, every complete playable proto, all European exclusives and most of the fan-translated games + Japanese exclusives you can play without knowing japanese. And most important: No duplicates!
  8. As suggested I open a thread for further discussions about the BitBucket Issue #285: Additional Scraper Options. And in case it’s drowned out by the discussion over there I just want to say that I still think the top priority for the scrapers should be the Arcade-History history.dat, Giantbomb and Mobygames. Every other API would be a nice extra but I think these 3 are very crucial for a best scraping result. I also opened a ticket for (in my opinion) the best way to keep all the new scraper organized and customizable in the scraping process. #339: Add option to customize the priority of the databases before scraping If you have better ideas or improvements to my suggestion feel free to discuss this here too. I also wanna thank @Jason for his hardwork and his commitment to integrate the wishes of his community. Keep up the good work it’s really appreciated
  9. Glad I could help. My list of missing features in LaunchBox is actually quite longer but that's all for the distant future because it's mainly special interest and for now there's a lot more important things to integrate ;) Now that a Mobygames scraper is a thing I hope the APIs I found are still useful for you. As for me there can’t be enough sources for metadata scraping :D
  10. Hi I’m Daniel. I posted a few request on Bitbucket and thought it’s time to introduce myself here :) I’m 23 years old and come from Germany (so I excuse my not so perfect English ;)) and I’m a big video game fan. Maybe you could even say historian because I spend more time collecting games, hearing video game music and reading/learning about the video game history and gaming culture in general than actually playing some games. My love for retro gaming started nearly 7 years ago through a very popular videogame podcast here in Germany when they started to make podcast about retro consoles I played or even merely heard about. My favorite game of all time is Final Fantasy 9 but I also really love the Mass Effect, Kingdom Hearts and Pokémon Series with all of my heart. LaunchBox is actually the 4th FrontEnd I tried in the last couple of years. I started with the Advanced Launcher and ROM Collection Browser Add-Ons for Kodi(mainly because I use Kodi as my multimedia center) but both of them have many flaws. At the beginning of last year I switched to HyperSpin because of the beautiful flashy themes it offers, but when it comes to functionality and organizing your collection it’s not really worth the huge amount of time you have to invest and the lack of a lot of metadata was not my cup of tea as video game history enthusiast. So I hope I have found now the perfect FrontEnd for me (especially when all my requests are fulfilled and LaunchBox starts to support HyperSpin Themes ;)). But with such a committed developer like Jason I have no doubt that it will become in the near future the ultimate FE for me. :) Oh, and you can thank SimplyAustin. When it wasn’t for him I would never have known about your project!
  11. There are 6 games that have a 32X version which look slightly better through the additional power of the 32X. But don’t get your expectations too high, it looks still very crappy with today’s standards. Here’s an article that features these games: http://www.poprewind.com/6-sega-cd-32x-games-is-all-they-made/
  12. sagaopc said I was wondering if you could create a type of database just to videos for PC games, for Emumovies has no such area. ... But EmuMovies does have an Microsoft Windows area!? Right now there's about 900 videos online.
