  1. @LuismaSP89 Ok, so Epsxe is clearly not set up properly on my machine and I'm not interested in troubleshooting an emulator that I don't personally use. However, I think if it's working normally for you, then this will be fine. So... lets test this. Go to Launchbox and open the manage emulators option under tools. Click on EPSXE and choose edit. In the Autohotkey tab on the right, enter the following. The path at the bottom needs to point to where your actual batch file is. And the Sleep, 10000 is in milliseconds so that is going to wait for 10 seconds. You can tweak this as needed. In fact, it may not even be necessary. Whatever you were doing to run that batch file before this, remove it. Fire up a game and let me know if this works for you. We may need to tweak a thing or two but I think this will be the best solution. WinWaitActive, ePSXe - Enhanced PSX emulatorSleep, 10000 Run E:\Emulators\EPSXE\hello.bat
  2. Ok, AHK will do the trick. This is my AHK section WinWaitActive, ePSXe - Enhanced PSX emulator Sleep, 10000 Run E:\Emulators\EPSXE\hello.bat Let me properly set up EPSXE so that it doesn't crash on open (right now I dont have the bios set up etc and it hates that lol) I'll get a proof of concept and show you how to set this up. Will not take long. Also, may not need that sleep or at least for 10 seconds, you will need to test that for me as I'm not actualy doing anything with my test batch file. Hang tight..
  3. Ok, so epsxe and a batch, got it. How are you calling that batch file in launchbox? Might even just be able to edit the batch file to have it actually call the emulator first then move to the registry change. Give me that last tidbit and I'll take a peek. I have time Edit: I'm assuming the custom command line parameters? Never messed with it much but if it handles the same range that a full interpreter would take, I can do this real easy. Either way, just grabbed epsxe and I'm poking at it. Hang tight.
  4. No your English is just fine friend, I was up far too late working on a project and in an effort to keep my brain sharp I was trolling around the forums. Clearly that didn't work out for me haha. Can you share in detail the application that you are launching and any parameters you have setup in Launchbox? I don't need the batch file, just an idea of the app you are launching and any specific changes you have entered into the front end. No promises, but I'll commit to taking a look and trying to duplicate and or correct the problem for you. Edit: My mind is telling me the easiest fix is to create an AHK script that will run the programs in order. Again, just brainstorming.
  5. I've been using Asus Republic of Gamers laptops for some years now. I honestly just got too busy to keep up with my full tower (I was a modding enthusiast) and it was taking up a lot of space. My primary front end is actually and older ROG laptop i7-3610qm with an Nvidia 670m-3GB and 12GB of ram. It's running Dolphin, PCSX2 and even Cemu quite well early on (Mario 3d world and new mario bros for now) You could probably do pretty well with that particular brand and they certainly have more powerful offerings now. What is your budget, And what are you looking to achieve on the machine from an emulation perspective and are you looking to play PC games as well? If so, what games? Also, are you locked into Best Buy? I don't have any issues with them beyond you paying a lot more in many cases than if you were to go through Newegg or another reputable online provider. Although the convenience of driving to a local brick and mortar is nice for a purchase like this.
  6. Using the Timeout command would likely work for you. Simply enter "timeout /t 10" before the next line in the batch to be ran. Remove the quotes and replace 10 with the amount of seconds you want to delay. Also, a keystroke can skip the wait if you so desire. Edit: Maybe we are reading this incorrectly. Is your issue that Launchbox is opening the emulator/app too quickly or that the batch file is being run too quickly? Please forgive me, it's 230am EST for me and I've been staring at lines of Python all night. If you need to delay the batch, timeout should sort things. If it's the former, I'd probably need more info and some sleep to assist.
  7. @g00glethis1 I'm glad it helped. Easily the best 3 bucks I've spent in a long time. I'm working on a Nintendo Power "platform" and will share that setup in a video soon. Controller Companion was a critical find for me so that my front end could be truly automated without the need for a keyboard or mouse and could browse my magazines and manuals etc. edit: It's interface is very easy to use, but feel free to ping me if you have any questions in setting up your bindings etc.
  8. It's worth mentioning that you can also get those and add them manually at no cost. However, you will be limited to how much you can download and what you can download. There are other providers of Video Snaps etc. but no where near as close to the quality that you will find at Emumovies. The convenience and quality of your experience is totally worth the small fee you pay to Emumovies for their API and bandwidth and storage etc. If you have a very small collection, I suppose doing manual setup would be fine. But with a lot of games, it's sooo nice to be able to hit that finish button on import and magically have all of the video snaps, wheels, art, manuals etc. Otherwise you will be spending a great deal of time trying to set up your front end which is what Lauchbox does better (in my opinion) than anyone else, automation!
  9. Hahah @Patham me too. Who knew? We can actually play games from time to time instead of tweaking our libraries
  10. Probably working on the API in some manner. I saw that Hypersync is affected as well so it's definitely not a Launchbox specific issue. I'd just chill for a bit and wait for it to get sorted.
  11. I've been using Controller Companion for ages. Mainly because I can scroll through magazines and manuals with my controller and not need a mouse etc on my front end. I actually just use that program to hold select and hit my xbox one guide button to close the active window. My issue with Launchbox/Bigbox was not that it crashed anything, but as of the latest version, the modifier and close button option in Bigbox just didn't do anything at all for me. It's strange because I can hold select and change my volume using built in automation in Bigbox. I know it's not ideal, but Controller companion is a 3 dollar program and might still have value after this apparent bug is fixed. I can't suggest downgrading your versions though, I'd report the bug and confirm it and either use a work around for now or hang tight. There are a ton of improvements in the current version or two that were not there previously and that seems to be counterproductive to try and roll back. Edit: Controller companion closes PCSX2 without issue for me in Bigbox. You should be able to do that with AHK or similar free tools as well then. It's not looking for a window title it's just sending an escape key to the window in focus. Just like tapping escape on the keyboard.
  12. Still down for me. I was able to log into FTP though. As Brad said, this happens from time to time the last time was some months ago, and it was a bit sporadic for a bit while they worked on it. @SentaiBrad what would you think of having a status widget of some sort on the site? Could show the status of Emumovies FTP and Synch Service as well as Launchbox DB? Just a thought, would be a nice little indicator that you could just glance at.
  13. Jason, my intention was not to be offensive and I'm sorry that you see it as that. Again, I think we can just leave this conversation where it is. With my apologies.
  14. Jason, your response is where emotional intelligence comes into the picture here. It's clear that on this topic you are "emotionally hijacked". It's disappointing to see from my end that you would decide that the best way to "inform the general public" is to speak in terms that you are. But I'll agree, we are probably best to just leave this where it is.
  15. I think that as a business owner yourself, you will need to learn to develop a bit more emotional intelligence. Your statement could be perceived as an insult to employees at Paypal who may also agree with your sentiment and may also be paying customers. Again, I don't think anyone would begrudge you for pointing people to different service providers, but at the end of the day you don't have any real reason to be so emotional about it. I mean, it would be different if you were truly taking some sort of moral stance here. Heck, I'd even respect that more on a personal level. But that isn't the case because if they were to have accepted a rebuttal (or if there were never a need for one in the first place) and kept you as a business partner we would still be paying via Paypal and these comments and links that are painting them as immoral, shady, scum wouldn't be here would they? A simple, this is absurd in our opinion > link to the paypal terms and we recommend not supporting this company would have sufficed.
  16. Paypal are hardly the "Scum of the earth". The environment that Paypal operates in is a very complicated one. At the end of the day, it really boils down to risk management and Paypal is considerably larger than Unbroken Software is. Therefore, it's an easy call for them to lose this business as opposed to potential involvement in a litigation process. I get that you guys are upset that you have lost them as a payment option but I really wish we would keep it professional here.
  17. @Newlander I was just browsing and I don't see a response to your request. These would be the Aimtrak brands. I've purchased items from Ultimarc but I can't speak for other sellers. Do know this, they are not truly light guns. They have sensors and operate like a mouse. However once you configure them in Mame properly they are pretty darn close to the real deal. I'd suggest watching some videos on them and getting a feel for the different types out there. It's not a huge market so you wouldn't be watching for long. https://www.ultimarc.com/aimtrak.html
  18. Yep, I did some reading and have some successful recordings with great quality. I love the mute desktop audio feature where it dims it.
  19. Oh this is going to take some getting used to. It recorded the audio but the output is two small avi files and an flv which plays in VLC but is a black screen. Ok I found the output settings and that's all clear in terms of moving it to mp4 format what quality I want etc. Is there a trick to getting it to record the desktop and / or bigbox or do I need to go get my crappy capture box? Ahh adding source. This is a nice program thanks for the heads up Brad!
  20. I see. I'll grab OBS then and try that. I'm trying to build a demo of my front end so far and wanted to also share with LB community how I personally built my own Nintendo Power "platform" and the scripts that i used to grab the cover art from my collection etc. It's a lot easier to video as some learn visually. I was struggling with Dxtory so thanks for the clarification.
  21. @SentaiBrad I've attempted to use Dxtory to record my BigBox front end but it doesn't seem to pick up the source. Is there some setting that you use to record your front end in Dxtory that I'm not aware of? I can't even get the FPS overlay to pop up
  22. I can't do fullscreen, looks horrible to me. I run all of my handhelds in a bezel after being scaled down a bit. NDS in particular I run standalone as RA Core is a bit more buggy and I use the Launchbox/RocketLauncher marriage to run this pretty bezel here. http://imgur.com/a/yuYxa Edit: @lordmonkus Do you have controller companion? I use that for various automation needs, it also doubles as a mouse via controller when I'm playing NDS
  23. Personally, I've always felt that they Hyperspin folks are setting a bit of a double standard. They attack people who sell hard drives with the images already set up claiming that they are stealing what is already free. They spread that message through visible emulation scene Youtubers like Simply Austin (Sorry Austin, in this regard, you are a part of that problem in this enthusiasts opinion) and then turn around and charge people for access to their services that basically just make it easier to obtain material that technically none of them own the rights to anyway. Want to argue IP and/or Copyright? Because they would lose. It stops being fair use or any of that self justified nonsense the moment it lands on a pay for service whether you are calling those "donations" or to cover "bandwidth" costs or not. It just needs to meet a couple of pieces of criteria, to breach copyright and that was done some time ago. If we were a gaming mod community, we would just share the mods and give credit to the people that created the mod. End of story. But the emulation "scene" is one that has a lot of infighting and often shady activity such as embedding malware into installers, charging people for "bandwidth" costs whilst building an API that makes it easier to pull someone elses IP down. Charging for non public releases of closed source emulation (more of a moral issue on that one, but ethically I think most people agree OS is more transparent and would still be something we would be willing to separate with some cash on just to encourage developers I'm talking to you Cemu) At the end of the day, I'm just one opinion and it probably doesn't matter much in the bigger story. But I like Launchbox because we are fresh here. We are new. There is none of that drama or silliness. If we get an artist to approve us uploading a pack, great. Otherwise, I'm just as happy if we all just build this empire ourselves slowly over a few years. Want me to pull out my copy of PS and start dropping wheel art down? Point me to a system and I'm on it. It's not hard work when you love what you are doing... /Rant
  24. @ UncleDaddySwiss you can skin this particular cat in a number of ways. However, the easy way is to have explorer running but it loads after bigbox does so you only see it if you close big box or if you win key out of the application and load from the start menu. You could create controller automation that alt tabs and lets you cycle through running apps that can be opened via autohotkey scripts and controller automation etc. I don't like to even pick my wireless keyboard up unless I'm doing some imports. So I use a tool called controller companion (got it through steam for 3 usd) this allows me to close and start big box from my controller and it detects when the desktop is in focus so I can use my controller as a mouse and it also has an on screen keyboard for typing. It works wonders when you load pdf through edge with a plugin as I can load the manual for games and it opens explorer and I browse the manual with my controller and then I just hold select and hit the guide button and it closes it and brings me back to big box. I spent a lot of time doing my automation so feel free to ask any questions. This forum is probably chock full of people who have done similar things with different tools including custom batch files and autohotkey scripts etc. Bet there is a gold mine of info here. I have an Asus G75vw laptop that is dedicated to Bigbox and have it pretty much running as if it were a dedicated emulation console with no need for a mouse keyboard setup. You could likely generate an AHK that would look for the window class for bigbox and have it open automatically upon a crash or something as well. Thankfully BigBox is very stable for me even though I've been running beta for ages, so that's probably not something I would think you would need.
