Update: I am working with a user that has this problem. Hopefully we are close to a fix.

Yep, I'm the dev. The issue for installing against native MAME has been reported, and, no, it shouldn't keep counting up with the percentage. If you kill the app via task manager, the files should actually be installed, but the tag in the ini file won't be updated (that tells the app MAME is installed). I am currently working with two different users on what is going on. I can't replicate the issue here on any machine I have. I have done a ton of tests, but nothing that points out what the issue is.

I have looked in to this, actually. The problem I found was the directory names can change over time, and by different versions of Retroarch. Because of this, you would still require a manual renaming at different times.

You need to create content directory overrides in Retroarch if you are using a core for multiple systems. Ref: https://docs.libretro.com/guides/overrides/

Sounds like you have 'save on exit' set to true in Retroarch. If so, toggle it to off/false. This means you will have to manually save the default settings to retroarch.cfg manually, when/if needed. To reset the behavior you are seeing, exit Retroarch, then edit retroarch.cfg in your text editor of choice. Search for input_overlay and see if you have a value save there. If so, delete the value, then save/exit your edit session.

That message means your anti-virus/anti-malware app has grabbed/quarantined one of the files the installer laid down. Create an exception for the installation directory, reinstall, then everything should work.

You can manually edit the .atari800.cfg file to set the following: MACHINE_TYPE=Atari 5200 Make sure you aren't using MAME software list roms. Also, make sure your 5200 roms have header information. See this URL for info: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/16556/cartridge-type-code-list-for-atari-5200-games

Have you tried changing the video driver type in Retroarch/video settings? Just cycle through the different choice and see if any fix the issue.
-
Just something else to consider. Every time I have had a garbled font issue related to RetroArch, the root cause seemed to be related to a video driver. Make sure you have the latest driver for your video card installed. You might also try changing the Retroarch video option to something else that is supported for the cores you are running (GL, Vulcan, DX, etc.)

A collection of marquee files for various platforms (arcade, consoles, handhelds) . As of this post, there are sets for 147 different systems/collections. Some sets have more than one version, for a total of 161 sets. Naming for the files is as follows: cartridge based systems use No-Intro databases, CD based systems use Redump naming, where available. The remainder generally use naming per EmuMovies collections. Having said this, you will always find files that will have to be renamed according to whatever game files you are using. Here are contact sheets showing examples for each set. You can find the sets here: https://archive.org/details/retrogamingmarquees

It sounds like you have the Retroarch option 'save config on exit' set to true. This causes all kinds of issues when you try to install and use the bezel project files. We recommend you turn that Retroarch option off and also manually edit retroarch.cfg to remove any value saved in the input_overlay setting.
-
@MadK9, great catch. I forgot I used a different name at the end. The old info was from long ago. Thanks!

I have just posted a 'System Art' bezel set for SNK Neo Geo CD on Github. Available for Windows only for now. Full RetroPi support is coming.
-
Yes, that is the plan!
-
You just need to use the Android export feature of my Windows app. The path is setup for android and does work for most. Have you tried that?
-
Pretty much. You may need to point Retroarch to the config and overlay directory.

Ateb is correct. As stated in the installers help text, you may encounter a core name in later versions of Retroarch that is different than what existing when the bezel packs were made which require renaming the core directory name under the config directory. Some people also use more than one core for different games, so you may need multiple directories like some of the installers create. Having said that, I use Windows junctions to create a true copy of a config directory. Feel free to do the same thing in real life.
