I try to submit as accurate as possible, but wether the game is released on DOS/AMIGA/atari ST I just pick the best picture because internally it matters little. Unless games or roms are disinctly different. say LOOM initial release (EGA) or LOOM when it uses VGA or LOOM (FM)(released the FM-towns) or in the case of a lot of sierra games where the first installment of the game was released using AGI and was later rereleased as a Sci game I will make the disinction with (Sci). it's the same Title released in a different year, but it's NOT the same game so it should be valid. but when I check the DB I see my games but usualy not the (SCI) games. which bothers the hell out of me. the most assed example is the Mixed-up mother goose game title. it has 4 distinct versions. the original AGI engine - Mixed-up mother goose The Sci engine port - Mixed-up Mother goose (sci) an enhanced sci - Roberta william's Mixed-up mother goose and a enhanced deluxe sci - Mixed-up mother goose deluxe and to my annoyance I see only two tiltles show in the DB.

Scummvm is able to read any gamedata if that game is compatible..provided the quality of the engine is implemented correctly.. maniac mansion for NES should work.. same goes for monkey island for the segacd. . @xevious1974 i've submitted 240 something games games for scummy these passed couple of days.. can we agree that scummvm currently is a platform and as such..should Have database entries for it. I was sort of getting passed at the rejections because I had submitted a lot lately and couldn't find the rejected ones... because I can't filter on that... very annoying

Yes.. It interprets game files instead of trying to mimic the platform it used to run on..
-
well to be fair all emulators could be considered Virtual machines.
-
I'm not going to argue with you about this.. because basically your right in a way. in that regard though openbor and mugen games should be considered windows games. but the reason I think that these frameworks are listed as platforms is because they compartmentalize a whole host of games that are build upon a set of principles defined inside the framework and the amount of games build upon those is huge. project Touhou..that shouldn't be a platform..definitely a playlist. and now I am going to argue with you though..it's ScummVM, Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion Virtual Machine it's a virtual machine..so it could be considered a platform..

My small thing. I'd like to be able to filter my submissions based on status. So if want to see what submissions have been rejected I filter on rejected, instead of going though all of the 270+ pages of submissions.

I submitted the last couple of games in my scummvm collection last night. I saw some of my submissions were rejected, I assume it's because some of the games seem to be duplicates. they are not.
-
Seems like a good idea to me.
-
In Other words.. I Want to be able browse through my changes based on status.. and filter them.

Is there a way that I can review my just see my rejected DB submissions ?

32 games to go... I'm glad to see the approval going smoothly..that is..assuming I'm the only one working on this..

Klopjero replied to iamjen023's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Released)
so you want launchbox to scrape your xbox and then transfer the files back to your xbox so it can be used with xbmc ? -
yes...and the search is on to get proper working files for Cranston manner and Ulysses and the Golden Fleece. those files are very specific.
-
yes.. that's the program I have aissues with.. I keep getting messages that there were errors adding to the DB (althougfh I have to admit that it has been months since I last tried that) with 2.0 alot have games been added... it's quite diverse, as you can see. Cranston Manor Full Pipe Gabriel Knight Gabriel Knight 2 King's Quest VII King's Questions Leisure Suit Larry 6 (hi-res) Leisure Suit Larry 7 Lighthouse Mixed-Up Mother Goose Deluxe Phantasmagoria Phantasmagoria 2 Plumbers Don't Wear Ties Police Quest 4 RAMA Riven: The Sequel to Myst Shivers Space Quest 6 Starship Titanic The Dark Crystal Time Zone Torin's Passage Ulysses and the Golden Fleece

I have a rather pretty complete one at home. is there a way for me to share it with you to make it easier ?

I am in favor of having a dedicated SCUMMVM DB. ScummVM 2.0 brings alot games to the table.

even with a rating/password system in place your kids would still see the game listed and the associated media. the user profile thing is okay I guess but it does take away feel of having an arcade like set up. it's a alot more work I suppose, but what I propose is a hidden function, where games are filtered based on user preference and the rating system. games can be made visible by giving a secret code in the menu. Sort of like a the konami code.the konami code is controller based so you wouldn't need a keyboard or even worse an onscreen keyboard to put it in. if mr Car, could build a framework or a plugin then you could even define codes per content type, so you'd have a code for gore or sex.

Did you inspect the downloads? it seems most systems you mention are in here. as far as video's are concerned anyway.
