If you want actual help you need to provide actual solid details, your posts so far do nothing of the sort, its like you dont actually want help and are just trolling. If you dont reply with any actual useful information im going to lock this needless thread.
-
Well your original post didnt say one way or the other, "and it still doesn't work" doesnt say if its not working in Launchbox, or it's not working in retroarch, hence the question asked. If its not working in retroarch it will never work in Launchbox either. PPSSPP core does not need any additional settings. It "just works" provided you roms are good and the filetype they are in is supported.

Once you download the videos they are on your system and yours to keep, and they will show in both Launchbox and Bigbox (theme/view depending).

Launchbox uses the EmuMovies sync to pull media directly into the program and named and placed correctly. Having the Premium Emumovies also allows you to download Manuals, Music and Gameplay videos as well as the images you get with the free acccount.

Is there a way to assign different emulators for combined platforms?
neil9000 replied to drw4013's topic in Troubleshooting
I dont think so no, as its Launchbox which tells Retroarch what game and core to load. -

Yeah, combining different systems into one platform isnt a good idea, you could do that with a playlist, but you would still need the other platforms as well. To do what you want you would have to manually change the core used on each game. -
Ah my mistake, guess i missed the post that it was added, good work.

For MAME specifically its best to set a exit combo in the MAME UI. Just look in the controls/UI section for "UI Cancel" and set your combo on that to exit MAME back to Bigbox.
-
You wont have cores for all of them, some of the platforms there are pre-populated to save you from having to manually type in the system names, and they have a core pre-selected, but you still need to actually download the core in retroarch, or use the dropdown to switch to a different core.

The dropdown shows the cores you have downloaded, if its not in the dropdown you havent downloaded it yet.

Neo Geo Roms running on NeoRagex 5, but not Retroarch FBAlpha2012?
neil9000 replied to xenotoca's topic in Troubleshooting
People are setting up these platforms every day, they just use "correct" and "recent" roms, along with the correct emulator. @Retro808 told you to use that bat file on a new MAME romset, its not gonna work on your old random set from the internet. There is nothing we can do to help with the, to be honest shitty rom pack you have currently. Thats not a problem with Launchbox, its a problem with your old roms trying to use them with new emulators. Do yourself a favour and google "MAME internet archive" or "fba internet archive" and get roms not designed for a out of date emulator that know one uses anymore. -
Im not sure that "custom" emulators are supported as of yet, i believe every single one is tested then added as supported.

Launch box on Android not launching game in retroarch
neil9000 replied to markwodberry's topic in Android
Yup, agreed. Thought i should put it into text though for people who are not as savvy about commandlines and such. -
Yeah thanks Jason. Been chatting in the discord about it, its a misunderstanding on my part on how the Cleanup tool was designed. I totally get the wariness for just deleting folders like that, but now that you offer up the files detected as well as the checkboxes for them, maybe a "hey we detected some media folders for platforms not in your Launchbox library, would you like to also delete these?" Or similar may work there?
-
Just tested again and the same. As you can see here no wii platform in Launchbox. Run the tool and select videos and manuals. Tool running. No media to remove. My wii video folder is still there. Log for that session. Debug 2020-02-25 07-12-40 PM.log Edit: I should add all the images are there still also even after running the tool with images selected previously, it just takes to long to test that every time as its like a 20 minute process to scan everything.
-
I see the text that i couldnt before now also. One weird thing to add though. I deleted my Wii system yesterday in order to test this clean up media tool, ( it only had 9 games in it, so a easy platform to remove and run the tool) and it found nothing to remove, just run it again but selecting manuals and videos only as its quicker, and it still found nothing to remove, however this video folder says Hello!.

Well we cant help you without the error and such a limited description.

Neo Geo Roms running on NeoRagex 5, but not Retroarch FBAlpha2012?
neil9000 replied to xenotoca's topic in Troubleshooting
Those are not error messages, they are simply dialogue boxes stating you havent provided enough information to setup a platform correctly. You will need to add your neogeo platform name and the core you want to use in "the grid" that is available under the associated platform tab. You HAVE to tell Launchbox what platforms to use for a emulator, it has no way to know by itself that you want to load a certain systems games with a certain emulator otherwise. "The Grid" being referred to. Which is hugely important. -
Well your romset and emulator version should really match for a start for 100% compatibility, it could simply be that your roms are not compatible with your emulator. Also are you testing EXACTLY the same rom in MAME and in Launchbox? And please please provide us with the images we have been asking for since the beginning, specifically these ones. Go to tools/manage emulators/mame and take a shot, like this. Also click the associated platform tab there and show a image of that with your Arcade platform visible. Also right click a arcade game and go to edit, take a shot of the main window you see, Then click the emulator tab in that same window and take a shot of that.

Neo Geo Roms running on NeoRagex 5, but not Retroarch FBAlpha2012?
neil9000 replied to xenotoca's topic in Troubleshooting
There are tabs on the manage emulator screen, one is associated platforms, this is where you tell Launchbox which systems the emulator supports, and in the case of Retroarch, which core to use for that platform. This has been the same forever and has not changed, it is exactly the same as it has always been. -
Im also seeing the same thing Jason, as you can see in this in process image the column names are almost invisible. Im on the current 1909 Windows 10 and am also using the dark Windows theme, no other tweaks.
