  1. For what I want to accomplish in my set, it is very important, however performance always come first. Ideally, I would have the same png/mp4 as the current Platform/Playlist I am in for the startup screen, add a minimalist Loading message in it with some game metadata info, and then it fuses to RA for example, which has an overlay with the same bg as in BB, so the experience and transition will be smooth from the platform menu up to playing the game (as if we are playing the game inside BB). The same going back from the emu to BB. No bg changes in my case. Not so much, as using MAME and RA gets me covered on this front. The only other emulator that I use and does not have overlays support is Sega Model 2, but I don't mind. Be able to choose between different formats (png, mp4, gif). Different layers (bg image, front image, position them). Metadata info (possibility to display the game name, year, genre, developer, rating, times played, etc.) and its size/format/position in screen. The above bullets also to be able to customize when going back from the game to BB. Question: would it be easier for the fades to be handled by the user in terms of development? So, instead of BB to be handling the programs and windows focuses to go from one to another, to just let the user establish a specific time per platform/emulator/etc. and make the Startup screen on top until the time passes. Just thinking out loud; not sure if I am saying nonsense. My ideal scenario would be to have the EXACT same game details screen as in BB, but with custom/different options. So we could have game details, synopsis, all images, video, manual, rating, retroachievements, etc. BUT I would add the Save State, Load State, Open RA/MAME menu options (in case you want to mess with shaders or any other stuff from the emu). All the Pause menu buttons/selections to be customizable in terms of position from top to bottom (I might use load and save a lot, while another user would not want to have those buttons, but have the Manual and Music ones). Customizable shortcut to trigger it (possibility for the Xbox controller Home button to override the RA menu function for example).
  2. Lust, if you need MAME clear logos with the default/MAME naming convention, I have the set. Let me know and I'll share what I have.
  3. Those boxes look awesome!
  4. Hey @Jason Carr! I would love to update LB to the latest version, but don't want to break my Cid's theme. Will there be release notes for this deploy, or instructions in what do I need to modify on the theme to make it 9.1 compatible? Thanks!
  5. Just tested it. Works fine for me. I opened Pokemon Red (Game Boy Edition) in Retroarch using Gambatte. Went to Quick Menu > Options > GB Colorization. Saw the GameFreak logo in green and the falling stars red. Pokemons are showing different colors as well. Both "Auto" and "GBC" settings for colorization show the colors as if you would plug the cartridge into a Game Boy Color. The Internal Palette option below lets you customize the palette if you don't want the default DMG one and want a particular one.
  6. Thank you! I see how it works now. Gonna check that forum out.
  7. Hahaha! Haven't found anything yet. Could be a very interesting project...
  8. Ok, I am now intrigued as well by this "deduping" @misterlamide. I would love more info; can this work with any type of file? CHDs for example? Is it lossless? How's the process of deduping done? Having the files deduped, can they be read anyways by the emus/cores? I am all about reducing files size, but if this means that the games will be constantly uncompressing on each run, then this is not for me, as I would rather have more space taken than burden the drive with constant read/writes. Thanks.
  9. @Klopjero, I am thinking of adding the whole ScummVM set shortly, wanted to know if there is a cd and/or floppy pack for the carts category of these games.
  10. 80s retro sexy awesome artistic collages are not for everybody I know I love every time you drop one of your psychedelicious bombs.
  11. Not at home right now to check, but in Retroarch, using the Gambatte core, I believe there is an option for this. Quick Menu > Options > GB Colorization (or something like that).
  12. To be able to select which platform I want to clean all media from; not to be all or nothing.
  13. You can create it manually (That's what I did with my Neo Geo Pocket / Color hybrid platform), and add the platform info and specs from Wiki. Re-import the Super Game Boy compatible games in this new made platform (forcing dupes), and scrape them as Game Boy. Same process for the GBC games import afterwards.
  14. One of my sets is very similar to yours (it has 8GB RAM, basic intel card and little better i3). Except for the default theme and the Unified ones, you will not get snappy themes at all (unless you disable some of the artwork). So I dont know if you will have a positive experience from the get go. Second question; yes. You will be fine with a gamepad in BB.
  15. The template was done for the Dreamcast UHD box pack in the Hyperspin forums, lead by Suprakarma (here in LB @Typhon). It was a team effort between various users.
  16. Agreed. I did the same for the Famicom and the PC Engine sets.
  17. Got it. A lot of platform boxes need some love (specially ones that have default spines (not the original ones), and made-up cover parts. You are doing a great work tackling these
  18. Out of curiosity, do you have a list you are following for the boxes creation? Or just making the sets you feel like it?
  19. You are awesome.
  20. Do the Unified theme creators need to update something on their end? I am using a custom version of Cid's Unified, and still in 8.9. If I update to 9 or 9.1, would that break the theme unless Cid changes something, or will it still be good to go?
  21. You are in 3D Cart Priorities. Go into Cart Front Priorities and check whats inside.
  22. Ah, got it. Yeah, now that I think about it I understand the spirit of the topic. Sorry Monkus, will try to keep them very small, short and sweet from now on.
  23. Thank you! No worries about the organization; it tends to happen XD As a heads-up for anybody using the psds, the arcade one was saved with some of the new version layers turned off, so be sure to turn on Layer 71 and Layer 72 if you want to have the added lights to it. Buttons lights is 73, but was not added to the previous release. In case users do not have Photoshop but want to have the artwork; here are the logos without the text on top (save for full size):
  24. Agreed, the problem is that Giant Titan did not post the source files or clean images without the text, and his last access to the forums was almost a year ago. We could clean the images and remove the texts from them, but I will personally not do it without his permission (I am like that XD ).
  25. Add Audit Tool Settings Menu to select which columns to display It would be great for the Audit Tool to have a settings section in LB, so the user could select which values/columns to audit (images and which type, videos, manuals, emulators, statuses, etc.). By doing this the audit tool will be able to display what is needed on that specific auditing, and will be able to display much more/different info than what it currently has. As an example, I do not use 3D carts, so that column is taking loading time and space for me, as I could either get rid of it, or substitute it with a more needed category. In case you find this useful, please vote it up https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/4628/add-audit-tool-settings-menu-to-select Other tickets worth voting: Ability to scroll through games inside "Edit Game" window While in the "Edit Game" window, to have a way of going to the Next game and the Previous game (i.e. have an "Apply" button to save changes without having to exit out of it, and two arrows left and right). This helps in editing games when something needs to be reviewed/modified to a great list/selection, and it is not a bulk change, but a change on each game. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/848/previous-and-next-button-in-edit-window Make videos have the same filename nomenclature as images For the videos (platforms and games) to use the same nomenclature as image media in the sense of - 01,-02, etc. So if for example I place in the Videos/Platform/ folder the videos NES-01.mpg and NES-02.mpg, they will get randomized in the main Platforms wheel every time the NES one is highlighted and improve the experience. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/4606/make-videos-have-the-same-filename Take a snapshot of Themes/Views states for BigBox (so can be saved/loaded) A way to take a snapshot of your current theme/views configuration, so in case you select different stuff, you can always load it back again the way it was in one button press. This is helpful when you use different themes for different platforms and categories, so you can make changes and then go back without having to redo everything again afterwards. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/4631/take-a-snapshot-of-themes-views-states-for Show other platforms on Game Details page One feature from GameEx that would be awesome to see in Big Box is having a list of other platforms you can play the same game on from the games detail page. For example, it could show every version of Asteroids from different systems that could be quickly launched from that link. It's really fun to jump around and try the same game on different systems so easily. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/3097/feature-request-show-other-platforms-on
