If it is running in RA directly and not in Launchbox you definitely have something set wrong inside Launchbox. Same with Mame which I believe you said the rom works directly in Mame. It is more than likely a setting to add/fix in Launchbox. The fact it is running directly in the emulators means we can eliminate that piece. Please post pics of the Associated platforms tab of both Retroarch and Mame. Make sure you are scrolling down to show the Arcade listing in the associated tab.

I don't use those so I don't know how they are set-up. If the "auto-populate the playlist" box is checked then it is an auto playlist and it will automatically update the playlist as you add or delete games.
-
Depends on how you set the playlist up. If it is set to auto then the playlist will update when you add or remove games. If it is manual then you will have to edit yourself.

Which error? There are a couple so it would help to either see an image of the error or there should be some english text in the error you can post.
-
I have not seen a way to change that for games that typically get installed on a C Drive. So you can either drag and drop the game .exe or a shortcut for the game into Launchbox directly.

I don't think you can actually add images while in BigBox. All maintenance is really done in Launcbox or directly in the folders. Anytime you add images and you run BigBox you should refresh the image cache.
-
When you add new images you need to go into the Image settings in BigBox and refresh the Image Cache.

The rating in the theme is not community based ones. It is the ones you set personally. I do not use community ratings so I built the theme of personal ratings. It is listed as this in the description. I did not want to use community ratings with a logo since those rate in decimal places and that would be a ton of icons.

Black screen when exiting Dolphinlaying Wii in Big Box
Retro808 replied to Tatts4Life's topic in Emulation
I missed that. I wonder why it works for me and not you and why it only affects BigBox. If you do to Manage Emulator and edit Dolphin and in the Startup tab leave Startups on but turn off Shutdown does it still work? -

@Tatts4Life Tested the same version of Dolphin with your settings on multiple games and no issue closing from BigBox fo reference here are some specs and settings. Startup and Shutdown are set to 4 seconds (set from the startup option in Launchbox/Tools). In the edit the emulator screen for Dolphin the Startup I have the delay set to 5 seconds playing around with anything lower does not affect the shutdown from BigBox it only makes the transition not as seamless. Tested on 2 pcs. 1: Core i7-7700k, GTX1080, Win 1809 (Beta Launchbox) 2: Core i5-8400, GTX1060 Win 1803 (standard Launchbox) If you have not tried turning off the startup/shutdown theme give it a try. Make sure you do it in BigBox. Some forget LB and BB have settings in each. Curious to see if that fixes it or not. -
I know you said you have the code. Is there any chance you tried 2 different codes on the same machine? I had an issue before and it turned out trying two codes on the same machine was the problem. Zen Studios had me remove everything and reinstall then use the original code. It worked, maybe something went corrupt. That was well over a year ago though. So with newer versions of PBFX that may not be an issue.

That's what I was thinking since I have no issue in any of the past 2 versions of BigBox/LB and multiple versions of Dolphin. @Tatts4Life no worries, when you get a chance post the settings. Also what is your system specs? -

@Tatts4Life I have not had issues with Wii in BigBox, but I was using an older version. I tested with the latest version you mentioned and no issues either. Can you share pics of your general settings and graphics setting from Dolphin and I will test with those settings? -
@Tatts4Life I am going to respond to your issue in your original thread. After you test the startup can you respond there so we can keep it centralized?
-
In your Launchbox\Updates folder you should see prior versions. You can install from there. It will not mess with your current settings. Just be mindful how far you go back since they may not support some newer features. But your settings otherwise should be fine. What issues are you having?
-
Yes, you could change that to read "{Binding Path=ActiveGame.Publisher}" then it would simply only return data from the Publisher field. You would likely need to do that for each view that you would use in the theme. This is based solely on my limited knowledge of coding messing around with startup themes.
-
Not automatically. You would have to edit the theme. It could probably be coded for a fallback to Developer if the Publisher field was empty. That would require you being able to code the change or the theme developer willing to do it for you.

Sorry you feel that way. Honestly I do not get it. This forum is full of members, mods, and the developer all working together. Not sure why you think the program should do everything for you, even fix user created additions. For a single person developing you are asking a lot. It is not unusual for a developer to update their software and have third party apps break. Seen it plenty of times with Microsoft, Android, iOS, and yes even Raspberry Pi get an update and the user created themes had to be fixed by the creator. You came and advised something was not working. You were given advice on a simple step to fix. That seems pretty helpful and like people cared. Good luck to you as well and Cheers.
-
He did not say you had to troubleshoot he just said you have to download the user created theme that was updated to work with the new version of BigBox. You posted a link to the theme from the creator and then say "Looks like everyone using this theme is broken too" and you did not even bother to read the thread you linked to see the creator of that theme fixed it. All you had to do was read it to know to download the update and you would be back up and running fine.

Are you using "ESC" key in both Launchbox and BigBox? Just want to clarify as your first posts makes is sound like you are not. -
That probably was the issue. I had something similar with a 3 monitor setup.
-
Added a second version of the theme: GridBlocked_Slow This version has a slower spinning disc for anyone who may prefer it. Just download BridBlocked_Slow.zip and extract alongside your other startup themes.
-
From the night that it worked until the night that it crashed were there any system updates you installed or even Launchbox updates. I think @neil9000 was mainly saying to be safe it is best to use Romset that matches the Mame version. I usually stay within a 1-2 number range. We will typically recommend matching just to be sure we can eliminate a variable when trouble shooting.

We would have to know what is going on exactly to try and help. There can be any number of reasons why depending on what is or is not happening. Let's start with the same question I asked the first member...Is mame working outside of Launchbox? In other words can you run a game directly in Mame?
