Yes, one caveat would be the emulators. If you place them all within the LB folder structure it makes is easier. However, some emulators (such as Dolphin) you will need to do a step to make sure it is portable. You can Google "Make Dolphin Emulator Portable" and its a simple process.
-
Correct. You can also use the move option to move one fallback higher than the other. So you can classify the order of importance.
-
Likely because there is nothing that defines a complete Retroarch. There is nothing that classifies a complete rom list or any of the other media items you mentioned. Retroarch is not actually an emulator. It is in essence a frontend, not to dissimilar from LB, in that its main goal is to allow you to run multiple emulators (the cores) in one frontend and offer some organization.

The "Hide Games Missing" menu only has those options currently listed. I am sure at some future point that will get more media. In the meantime why don't you use the "Image Priorities" options in >Tools >Options >Image Priorities to set fall-back options when games are missing images for media types. Given how many platforms with games that could be missing certain media this is a great option to not have to hide a game. Cannot answer this from a dev perspective, but having this as an option is far better than not so for the time being one extra step I would say is better than what we used to have. Prior to this we had to add manually and ensure the image file was named properly. This feature thankfully will rename the images. No, the 2 are separate modes. You can switch from either easily simply by using the menu. In LB under >Menu is the BB logo to click on. In BB you can back out to the options page and select "Switch to Desktop Mode". Might want to check you controller settings in BB. Make sure you have it turned on and controller selected. LB is not really the game controller/arcade stick version of the front end. A controller can be used in a way. However, since most of it commands are driven like other Windows programs a keyboard/mouse is its main tools.

New Discover Center is a neat addition. Noticing sometimes images for random slots are not loading. In any row 1 or more games will have a gray square. Scroll up or down a couple times and eventually the images appear. Seems to only occur on initial entry into the Discovery view. Back out and come back minutes later and it will happen again. Was able to see this happen on several cabinets. Seems like the images have not recached assuming these lists update on each entry to the view. I do like you can edit the xaml and create your own listings. Had to tinker to see what was under the hood.

If you downloaded manuals through LB you should be able to right click a game and go to "Media" and you will see a "View Manuals" option
-
You do not need to do it for every game. Follow this set-up guide.

As promised: When you copy and rename the Default theme open the GameDetailsView.xaml. To get rid of the ClearLogo over the upper art image and the Text default fallback scroll to line and delete lines 1066 through 1188. Additionally to remove from the Platform level image open PlatformFIlterDetailsView.xaml and delete lines 250-311

It is talking about the "Associated Platforms" tab. Anytime you add a new emulator you need to add which platform or platforms in LB will use it. Just click the Associated Platforms tab and type in the name of your platform. It must match exactly what you named the platform in LB.

You did nothing to offend me as I am not offended at all. Not sure why you are responding the way you are so I will not make any assumptions. Look back at your original post. You asked a specific question. It was “is it possible” and I responded to that question. You did not ask “how” so I did not respond how. Then your second posts said you already knew what I told you. I had no clue you knew that because your original question lead me to believe you did not to which I simply advised why I answered the way I did. I then gave you an example of what to look for since I am not near my pc. Even said it would be a day before I could look directly for you. Sorry to say but you took all this the wrong way. If you are not happy that I was answering and trying to help then not much more I can do.
-
Well, you did not ask that so I answered what you asked. Not near my pc so not 100% sure on the line. In the GameDetailsView.xaml see if you can find a reference to a binding for ClearLogo. If you see one try commenting it out or deleting it. Would be another day before I can directly look on one of my cabinets to confirm.
-
Yes, but you would need to copy the Default theme folder and name that copy something new. Then you can edit that one. The Default theme cannot be directly edited as it will always revert to stock code to ensure LB always has a working theme.

Not sure what exactly is the pain as LB is quite simple. We even have a youtube videos to show how easy things can be. What exaclty for Mame are you trying to import? Full Mame rom set or a random selection of games. Perhaps provide screen caps of each step you are taking so we can see exaclty what is wrong.
-
What do you mean exactly? Is it not downloading any screenshots when you do a bulk game download or is it only downloading a some images? Also are you talking about from the LB GameSB or Emumovies? There are some settings that you could have checked or unchecked so clarifying would make it easier to determine the issue.

If you bought a harddrive and it is one loaded with roms that was prebuilt with LB or another front end you should contact the seller. Not much we do here to help with those pre-loaded drives. Anyone selling roms is a scammer. I would recommend trying to run the game directly within the emulator first to see if it works. If not, its a rom and emulator set-up issue.

Marquee no longer displays images when computer wakes up
Retro808 replied to Toaster777's topic in Troubleshooting
Not confident anything needed to be fixed considering only 3 users on just under 3 years reported an issue. So doubtful it was anything our 2 devs looked at or have been able to replicate. Would be helpful if someone provided some more details Such as: What theme are you using? Does it happen with different themes? Does it happen every time or intermittently? Does rebooting BB bring the images back? Are all your video drivers and Windows updates current? These are just a few off the top of my head so any other details you might feel relevant would help. -
I think the text option to display the text on the box or not within LB.
-
Not in its current form. You would need to submit a feature request.

BigBox button combo / hotkey to Shutdown PC?
Retro808 replied to MarkyMarkMarkMark's topic in Troubleshooting
Not to over complicate things but why not just back into the main settings screen and hit “Shutdown”. Works, nice and simple. Never have to worry about someone accidentally hitting a shutdown button combo or hitting the shutdown icon if one existed. 7 years of BB in my cabs and this way has worked easily and flawlessly. -
Does it only do that with the theme you created? If so could be an issue with how the theme was made. Maybe something incorrect with how you set an animation (looks like something is not being called correctly or being missed). Troubleshooting the CTC you would need to be on his patreon site. That is where he is primarily responding to help questions.

This is a video theme for the game. Download the video file and save it somewhere. Then right click the game in LB and choose "edit". Go to the "videos" tab and choose "Add Video" and assign the video that way. If you are asking about how do you actually run this game you need to game file and it runs through TeknoParrot. This however, would not be the thread to discuss that.
-
Did you map your controls in the emulator(s)? Most should work off the bat with Xbox controller, but if not you need to map directly in each emulator. LB/BB has nothing to do with in game controls.
-
Auto import for what? The only auto option is for store front ends and that is only on when you actually end up setting up the pc store front ends. LB will not auto import any emulated systems. That all has to be manually done. If you are manually adding the emulators you have to manually point to your Retroarch.exe path. The manual option does not auto fill the path. It will auto-fill the Associated Platforms tab for common platform names and cores. The only time the .exe path would be populated is if you choose the option to have LB download and set-up Retroarch.
-
Yeah I get that. That was not what I was specifically asking about. I needed you to clarify if it is when you launch the game through LB or when launching directly through TeknoParrot. If it is when launching through LB then try opening Teknoparrot and launching the game directly in the emulator. If it does the same that way then it is not a LB issue and is a rom/Teknoparrot issue (possibly a setting in TP you need to adjust).
-
Is this issue when running through LB or when trying to launch the game directly in TeknoParrot without LB?
