Hikaru Fullscreen Addon
Retro808 replied to Vlansix's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Released)
@JoeViking245 What you propose would work. I do something similar instead of using an additional app. I just created a Demul Hikaru emulator (second instance of Demul since the AHK would affect the other platforms) in LB and pointed to the original demul.exe I use for other arcades. Then use the Running AHK to send Alt+Enter. Works like a charm and never have to worry about an additional app maybe not working one day with LB. -
No worries. Sometimes it takes a couple posts to get thing clarified. Unfortunately right now there is not a more streamlined process. Might be hard since playlists names can be so unique to every individual user that it might be hard to make it sort of a mass dump and go type thing.
-
You were already advised it was possible.... Joe also gave you a second option of how to replace images. Using his method "B" means you do not have to worry about naming the file as LB will name it once you make the selection. One of the best things you can do is spend some time looking around inside the LB folder and familiarize yourself with what is contained within.
-
Not sure what you mean by where are they grabbing them from. However, when they are downloaded they are stored: \Images\Playlists\[Name of Playlist]\Clear Logo\ If you want to replace to stock ones with your own just place the images you want to use in the correct folders referenced above for your playlists there and name them exactly as your playlist is called in LB. All image types are located within the images folder. You can replace any images you want. Just need to spend some time poking around in it and you should quickly identify LB/BB image filing if you need to find other items like Platform Clear Logos or Platform Categories Clear Logos. These folder locations are where themes will grab the images to show when using LB/BB.

The document was update but the "last update date" did not change in the new pdf. You do need to run BB at least once for the new document pdf to reflect the changes. Some of the new documentation appears around page 30 (Converters). If you see that then your document is updated.
-
Can you provide a pic and describe how big and where you want the image?
-
If they are pdf files just add them as an “Additional App” to each game and the will show up as an item in the pause menu.

Just an FYI I have been trying to figure out a way to better make this work. The issue is with using the game name binding and how Windows converts a name versus how it appears in BigBox. So been trying to work on a better solution. I did not want to use the Arcade Controls folder for this project since I use those actual images for another theme. So I went the custom folder route. A folder path binding would be the best method but right now LB does not have any internal binding to custom folders. Additionally the png and jpg thing should be worked out soon. There are some updates coming to LB and a converter in the update I can use to easily pull the image regardless of file type. @Kiinkyfoxx Thanks for helping out with the two files you made. I wanted to find a much cleaner update to the code before I posted anything.

Bigbox: Show playlist first in game-list for platform
Retro808 replied to flac_rules's topic in Features
Ah. I see now. A playlist will never show up inside your list of actual games. So in that pic you posted of the Wall View of games you would never see something like: > Amiga Playlist - 1st Divsion Manager - 3D Construction Kit - ...and so one. You would only see games. A playlist shows up only as a select-able item from outside of a list of games. LB/BB heirarchy is something like: >Platform Category >Platform >Games in the platform >Playlist >Games in the playlist You can manipulate where in a Platform Category or a Platform a playlist will show up, but it cannot be placed directly in the list of games. -
Like C-Beats mentioned you just need to add it to LB emulators. Since it is just a fork of Dolphin LB can run it easily with command lines. Add it the same way you added Dolphin if you already have Dolphin set-up. Nothing really special needed to add it.

It is to "attract" people to the system to play. Hence the name. You can set a timer on how long the unit sits without being touched before attract mode kicks in. Like how long you set your laptop to be idle before the screen save kicks in. Its a functionality users who builds arcade cabinets would use. -

You probably have attract mode on. It is a setting in BB. Under "Options" page look for "Attract Mode" and see if you have it on. -
Try going into BB settings to the keyboard or controller mapping section and binding a key/button to the option for "Change View". Then back out of settings and go into one of your platforms game list and hit that button/key and see if you end up on a wall view.

Yes, you can change and use different logos of course. From within the game import wizard when you get to the media be sure to check the box for Clear Logos. This will get the more traditional logos like you are showing in your pic prior to my post. If you want other styles just go to our downloads section. There you will see many different clear logo styles for platforms. There may not be a ton for game specific clear logos as that would take a lot of time creating for all the games out there. https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/category/14-platform-clear-logos/ -

Wheels views will only use image files for the game/platform names. It will either use a Clear Logo image or a Text Image if you did not download actual clear logos. To be clear what you are seeing in the image posted is not actually text it is an image of text. You cannot change the text in that view you are seeing since it is in fact an image file. The reason I clarified the Text image piece is there is an actual Text List View for games and platforms that uses actual fonts (text) for game names. That view you can alter the font style, size color, other text elements, but this is only done by editing the code of the theme behind the scenes. -
This is looking good. The subtle transition from the game fanart to the video is nice. Just the right amount of fade/transition speed. Have you messed with the Text List View any? I am typically not a wheel user for game level and prefer text list (I do use wheels on platform and playlist level). So very curious how you might approach that view if you do at all.

Bigbox: Show playlist first in game-list for platform
Retro808 replied to flac_rules's topic in Features
Cannot see the playlist at all or cannot see it first. Does it show correctly in LB? Can you post a pic of what you see in BigBox and also edit the playlist in LB and share a pic of the Details Tab and the Parents tab. -

Themes do not typically contain the game and platform artwork. Such as game play videos, box art images, and so on. Those are downloaded when you import games or you can copy over any artwork you may have downloaded from our forum or anywhere else. Themes simply display that artwork in a nice graphical layout. Some themes may come with some artwork, but most likely 90% of what you need for almost all themes you would download during import of your games. So when you import a game as you get to the media pages in the import wizard that is where you want to be to get the images you need that themes will use. You do not set up the artwork. That is the purpose of the theme. It sets up how the artwork you downloaded is displayed. Once you download images during rom import and then download a theme the theme will take care of the rest. There may be some tweaks you need here or there, but overwhelmingly you will not need to set anything up. You just need to select a view in the theme that uses the wheel. All themes are designed with several view styles. Vertical Wheel, Horizontal Wheel, Text Only List, Wall View. It just depends on what the theme creator chose to design views for. The easiest way to change views to get to one you want is to go into BB settings to the keyboard or controller mapping section and bind a key or button for the option to "Change View". Then when you back out of the settings page and go into the actual theme (where you can see the games) hit the button you bound and it will change the theme's views real time. -
If you are having issues with controls on game that has nothing to do with LB. All that is handled by the emulator. So DS4 Windows may be affecting the emulator directly. I would start by looking at your in emulator controller bindings and see if DS4 messed anything up directly in the emulator.

Bigbox: Show playlist first in game-list for platform
Retro808 replied to flac_rules's topic in Features
Right click and edit the playlist. In the "Details" tab use the "Sort Title" field to give the playlist a sort name that will make it show first. Somethings like "01-Best of Amiga". -

CTC is the Community Theme Creator and is available on our forum. If a user publishes the theme development files (different than the actual theme) for a theme created in the CTC any user can download those files and edit the theme directly to create their own custom look.

Downloaded playlists don't display in LB but do in BB
Retro808 replied to spyboy's topic in Troubleshooting
This may depend on the view you use in LB. The creator of the playlist may not have playlist set-up to work with your view if you use "Platform Category" as your main LB view. In the left hand pane of LB change the view to "Playlist" in the drop down box and it should now show those playlists you downloaded. Once the playlists show right click one of them and edit. In the "Details" tab if "Include this Playlist with Platforms" is unchecked this could be one reason it is not showing in other views. The second reason could be looking in the "Parents" folder. If there is nothing checked in the "Parents" folder LB would not know where to place it other than making it available in Playlist view. Check the box for where you want playlists to be viewed in your LB set-up. -
