  1. You can make the unused buttons a grey color, but clearly a user looking at the image will know the others are not used since you have no labels for them. Just input from a visual perspective. Either have the image look balanced or leave a lot of negative space. Just do not overthink it. A quick edit adding a mild drop shadow and shifting controls right a bit and made the unused buttons more gray. It honestly works either way, for me though that huge negative space without them would bug me. Yours is the 3rd one so you can see the alignment difference. Same, but having worked in Risk Management for over 25 years my brain is hard wired to think of "what can go wrong" and put in things to work to cover if/when it does go wrong. In the middle of hanging out with friends or a big party I am not taking time to fix any leds or have LEDBLinky fail and bother trying to fix it. LOL.
  2. Are you using Retroarch for all those mentioned systems? How do the games run directly in the emulator without using LB to launch them?
  3. Yeah, it definitely is person-to-person, but if your set-up can be effective for all than that just makes your set-up even that much sweeter. The new image looks good. The controller alignment could be adjusted right a little more, but of course you would need to see how it looks with a control scheme that might have longer text on those 2 buttons on the end towards the game art. Maybe add a drop shadow or an outer glow to the clear logo.
  4. This was just speaking out of experience. I have built many cabinets for friends, family, and even put a few at my work place. The lit buttons do help, but what if the leds stop. Or you decide to use this for another cabinet without led buttons? Have seen many users on a simple 2 or 3 button game try using the bottom row first. May not be as common an issue, but if you can mitigate confusion by being clear with your images, then why not do it.
  5. Nice improvement. The controller image is a lot cleaner. A couple recommendations on that. 1. If using a 6 button control deck the user would not know which 3 buttons. Top 3 or bottom 3. Also since only 3 are showing and your image is aligned to make space for the other buttons the spacing looks off. To compensate I would recommend leaving all 6 buttons in view but grey out the others not being used.
  6. What is the ultimate goal of what you are trying to do? If it is to ensure players can understand the controls for the game while adding some visual excitement I think you should reduce the overall time of the video and increase how long/often the controls image shows up. That is a 3:45 video and the controls only showed up at 1:45 and stayed up for :15.

Adding to what @neil9000 said. I was actually attempting to edit the theme to do just this and could not get it to work. Talked with CBeat and LB currently cannot support showing a platform background until a game is selected. He did advise we would need a plug-in to do this. Hopefully some time down the line he said he might get some time to look at building something into the LB code. For now the best you can do is change to a more custom image you want to use.
  8. It's not dead requests are just done by the "Feature Request" option located at the top of the forum under "Help & Support". There is however, already a request on the site that links to for this. I will say this is likely something not going to happen anytime soon, if at all (really do not want to say never as there is always a small chance, but it does look very slim) per a recent discussion on our moderator discord with our devs.
  9. Yes, you are not in the correct theme. You need to change the LB Theme. >Tools >Options >Main Window Theme and select the correct theme.
@Gamer1000 As long as you have videos for your games and have video playback set in your LB settings you just need to click the "picture" icon on the bottom left side of the fanart image. The button to the right of the one with the "house" logo. 5-star rating for new evolution of LB themes.
  10. Other platforms show the logo correct? Can you provide some pics. 1. Show an image in BB of what you see. 2 An image inside the folder showing the file. Also show the file path if possible.
  11. Did you name the png exactly as the platform is named in your set-up? Also make sure to refresh the image cache in BigBox settings.

You might have to rely on the edit game window for now. C-Beats may not have added a "Favorites" button.

Yeah something like this. I like having the details hidden, but keeping the images in view so I moved the Carousel out and faded the image
  15. Do you have those two buttons mapped to "Exit Game" in LB and if you use BB have them mapped to "Close Active Window"? Are you running Cemu as admin by chance? Scripts from that post you linked still work. In fact for my Cemu set-up I use the one below which is in that thread. Cemu closes fine. ESC:: { SetTitleMatchMode, 2 WinWaitActive, Cemu Send !{f4} }
  16. You may have the option checked that allows "Remember Different View Per Platform". So you will need to change the view used when you are in your Teckno Parrot games list. You can bind a key or button in BB mappings for the option for "View". Then go into the TeknoParrot game list and hit the button. You will see real time change of the view. Just keep pressing until you get to the view that is the same as the other platforms.
  17. The steps Sundogak gave are correct and concise. More accurately, to mention though, the platform marquee images go in the \Images\Platforms\[Platform Name]\Banner folder. To use any animated marquee file that is a video you simply need to add the video file to the \Videos\[Platform Name]\Marquee folder. Name it exactly as your platform is named. If you are on a current version of LB by default the coding will use the new BB marquee functions which will show a marquee video if present and fallback to images if no video present. Custom themes do not actually have to support this. You also do not need a plugin. Most theme creators do not create a custom PlatformMarqueeView.xaml and GameMarqueeView.Xaml. As such, the team has coded BB to use the default logic when a theme does not have a custom view for marquees present. If a theme does have a custom view for marquees and it currently does not support videos there is a setting in BB options to override this. \Options\Marquee Screen >Ignore Marquee Theme View. So you simply need to follow the recommendations above with adding your images and setting your image priorities.
  18. I assume you mean the recent LB Youtube video where ETA shows how to use the full set importer? What version roms did you import and do your games run directly in Mame without using LB?
  19. In >Tools >Manage >Emulators edit Retroarch. Post a pic of the details page. Also a pic of the Associated Platofrm page.
  20. There are numerous threads on this issue. You need to edit your Retroarch in LB >Tools >Manage >Emulators. On the details page uncheck the option for "Extract Rom file...".
  21. Did any of the paths change when you updated? Are the update roms in the same path as the older version and is the Mame exe in the same path?
  22. FBNeo is a select-able core from the Associate Platforms list in LB for Retroarch. If the game runs directly in RA, but not in LB make sure you do not have the option for "Extract Rom Archive..." checked in yur LB emulator settings for Retroarch.
  23. If you are using Retroarch go to >Tools >Manage >Emulators and edit Retroarch. Make sure you do not have the box checked for "Extract Rom Archives..."
  24. This issue has actually been around for many versions for random users. The thread I linked to in my previous post stretches back to early 2021. The issue is the devs, for the most part, have not been able to replicate it on their end. So finding a solution has not been easy. In the thread I linked some users found their issue was certain video files. Personally I have had the issue affect me randomly for several years now. I still have one cabinet that is occurs at random while the others had not had it occur in quite some time now. My point is the issue seems to be sporadic amongst users and even Jason in his notes in that thread I linked was not seeing any crashes on his testing. So this may not be an easy find to the cause.
