Community files for Refried 2.0?
Retro808 replied to upjumptheboogie's topic in LaunchBox for Windows Custom Themes
If you are talking about for the Community Theme Creator then there are none. That theme was not made using the CTC. Not all themes are. Especially older themes. -
What emulator are you using and do the games run directly in the emulator without using LB? If no, that is your issue. You need to make sure the games run there first. A common error here is if you are using Mame for arcade roms and you stored your roms outside of the Mame folder you need to edit the rom location path in Mame. You can do this in the UI or edit the Mame.ini file. If yes, below are 2 of the more common errors: 1. Check the associated platforms tab when you edit the emulator in LB. Make sure the platform name is listed in the Associated Platforms tab and it matches exactly what you called the platform. 2. If using Retroarch for Mame roms make sure in the details tab you do not have the option for "Extract Rom Archive" checked. (>Tools >Manage >Emulators then edit Retroarch).

LaunchBox Adding DreamCast Track Files As Separate Entries
Retro808 replied to ChristopherNeff's topic in Troubleshooting
I think you misread what I stated. I said they are useless to LB as you only need the .cue file to launch a game. I also advised to remove them from LB, not from your game folder. Of course you need to keep them in the game rom folder as the emulator needs them to be there. You do not need those files in LB at all. So why would you even bother renaming them or importing them. Only the emulator needs all those extra audio files or .bin files. They never need importing into LB at all. -
LaunchBox Adding DreamCast Track Files As Separate Entries
Retro808 replied to ChristopherNeff's topic in Troubleshooting
LB does not know which files an emulator needs to run so it just imports files it sees in the folder you point it to. For the PSone import you should not have imported both the bin and cue files, the bin files as useless to LB. So those extra entries it added into one file will not launch a game. You would just import the cue file. So you really should remove those bin files from the LB import. Why LB did not import the DC tracks into a single file is because the track files are not named after the rom file. LB knows to combine files when they are named the same. In the case of .bin and .cue file games those files are both named after the rom. So LB knows it can combine them. Games that would have a rom file named after the game and then audio tracks named something like track01 will not get merged since LB cannot match the name. It all has to do with file naming. -
I do not see an issue with naming. So does not look like that is the issue. I did not need to see the image itself as I more wanted to see it in the folder location. Looks like you are trying to add them to the theme only. What folder do you have that Microsoft MSX.png image in? Also did you try refreshing the cache like I mentioned?
-
Neil was asking more that actual file name not file type. Some rom dumps have really poor named files that can screw up scraping.

Not from a Category selection no. Platform Category is to list your various platforms. A "category" cannot have games in it. You could create an "Arcade All" playlist and then have that playlist show all games from all your arcade platforms.

Are you having an issue with Windows license or Android license? They are separate purchases. So if you bought LB/BB that is for Windows. You need to purchase an Android license. I ask because you mention limits. Only the free android limits how much you can install.

Can you post a pic of what you see in BigBox. And the png in the folder. Pics always help. Images for platforms and categories have to be exact name matches to how your life platforms and categories are named. If they do match and are in the correct folder try refreshing BigBox’s image cache in the BB settings.
-
It is likely you do not have a clear logo for those categories. You can download some category clear logos in different styles from our forum downloads section. The text you are seeing is an image text generated by BB in absence of a clear logo. You cannot change that font style.

It is possible to put several platforms on one platform?
Retro808 replied to Merovingio's topic in Noobs
Editing the xml is typically not good as you can easily mess up things. To get the look you wanted all you needed to do was edit each of the 2 platforms and in the Parents tab uncheck "Root" and check only "Sega Genesis". Do that for each of the 2 platforms and it would show up how you have it showing in the second pic. As Monkus mentioned platforms cannot contain platforms within their wheel. They can only show up as a sub-platform under it. Platforms can only contains games inside their actual wheel selection.- 3 replies

That is because your image is from a menu in LB. You need to be in BB. The image cache menu is in BB.

Which youtube video and what does your view currently look like? That information would be helpful.

Likely it was not something the team thought to add during the initial inclusion of the additional apps feature. If you would like to see that feature expanded please submit a feature request. Link is located at the top of the forum under "Help & Support"

Does this issue happen in other themes as well?

Attract mode features that I would love to see
Retro808 replied to mrmattcoachman's topic in Features
For feature request please use the "Request a Feature" link located at the top of the forum under "Help & Support". I recommend once you do so, post a link to that feature request ticket in this thread to help drive users who may want the same features to vote. -
How to display banners from consoles or computers ?
Retro808 replied to Sebiohazard's topic in Noobs
That's a perfectly valid opinion to have. The good thing about the emulation world is if you do not want to pay for something there are other options. Platform banners just are not in LB yet, as mentioned, because it was never really something users wanted since BigBox is there. That does not mean if more people want platform banners in LB it will not eventually be added. Having to pay for something you want is absolutely normal. My opinion it is perfectly valid to pay someone for their hard work and labor. You are right. There are also a lot of people stealing in emulation world. Along with a lot of people stealing and selling to profit in emulation world. That is more sickening then legitimately paying for something someone works hard on. -

And those are the equivalent to our BigBox. BigBox can do what you are asking. Because our devs do this as their job and they are constantly and consistently upgrading the product. In addition our devs take feedback and work with the community to further develop the software. Sometimes it is worth paying developers to support them as they support our want in a program. -
How to display banners from consoles or computers ?
Retro808 replied to Sebiohazard's topic in Noobs
Likely because LB is the Windows UI versus BB being the graphical cabinet style UI. Users typically are using LB with text style lists and showing images only for games. There really have not been people asking to show banner media for platforms in LB. So it is not possible since it is not something users have wanted in LB. -
Bulk Edit Wizard not working on Game Manual Path
Retro808 replied to MarcusTempest's topic in Troubleshooting
Just an FYI until the Bulk Edit gets fixed you can easily set a platform's game manual path to the desired folder by editing the platform name and going to the "folders" tab. -

You cannot display them in LB. It is not a feature in LB. Android has it becuase Android is mirroring BigBox capabilities. Android is being developed as a graphical front end along the same lines BB is the graphical front end to LB. -
What method did you use to import the roms? Also the 10K games you mention are those 10K of Mame roms? If so, and you used the "Mame Full Set" import option in LB that method only imports roms Mame actually lists as "working" which is just under 3K worth of games. So from your post it sounds like you used to fill set importer and the end result is what is expected.
