no playlist when importing Mame Roms
Retro808 replied to kamikazeromeo's topic in Collections and Builds
You are not accidentally unchecking the check box next to the option to create the playlists are you? If you open your \LaunchBox\Data\Playlists folder do you see all the Mame playlist xml files there? -
There is not an option to set a default fallback, but LB does now have image priorities for Marquee category. You can set fallback image types. In LB >Tools >Options you will find in the Media section image priorities. Click on Marquee and tick the boxes of the images types you want to use. Then use the Move buttons to individually put them in the order you want them. When a game is missing a Marquee image it will display the next option available. In, addition BB default theme has specific Marquee View that will prioritize Marquee Video and Marquee Images. In the absence of either of those it will default to a Fanart and Clear Logo for the game. If you are using a custom theme you can copy the GameMarqueeView.xaml into the themes \Views folder to get the custom theme to use this feature.

Your likely seeing the difference between a "Gameplay" video and a "Theme" video. The ones with the fly-in and some images as you put it are actually full screen videos with all that artwork in the video itself. Your games that just have the plain old game play videos means you need to download "Theme - Video" if the game has one available. Not all games do.

When are EmuMovies Gameplay (Video Snap) videos used?
Retro808 replied to InvaderJim's topic in Noobs
No, It all depends on your video priority setting in LB. In LB go to >Tolls >Options and you will see a priorities are for image priorities and video priority. You can tick the video types you want used and then you can move those up or down to put them in priority order. The theme will show the top priority 1st and if a game is missing that video type it will show the next priority. -
You only need the most current version. Older versions are there as some users do not upgrade LB by choice or their license expired. Newest version of theme may have features that do not work on older version of LB/BB. That is why Jason specifically put what LB version is required in each version of the theme.

Combined threads. There was already a thread for this. Another one was not needed.

You just change the view to a coverflow view. Each theme can support multiple view types depending on what the theme creator made. You can either change the view type in the options page under "Views" or bind a key or button for the option to Change View.

Most games run through Tekno should not need admin rights any more. At least if you are using more updated dumps of the games and updated TeknoP. Sonic Racing runs fine without admin rights on my set-ups. As an FYI we recommend never running LB/BB as admin. It can cause more issue with emulators other than elevation issues.

Sure. In LB go to >Tools >Options. Once that opens in the left side look for the >Related Games section. In each of the Similar, Related, and Possible Ports sections you can add a new option to filter out those platforms. Just scroll to the bottom of the existing listing and select the appropriate cells. All those options are customizable.

Version 12.10 - Released April 27, 2022 Improvement: The EmuMovies API has been overhauled to fix the stability issues and improve performance

Merged threads. The original one was fine where it was. Especially since one of our devs was already responding.

Find as in? Find where to download or find where LB stores them? If it is where to find them to download then marquees (if available for game) can be downloaded form within the LB media downloader from both our GamesDB and/or Emumovies. You can also go to our downloads section in the forums. https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/category/19-game-marquee-images/

I recommend posting the video directly on the forum.

Filing looks correct. How are you changing themes in BigBox? Are you changing in the settings area or using a button/key to change live while you are in the game or platforms view? I would recommend mapping a key/button to the option for "Switch Theme" this way you can be in the platform or game list and change the theme in real time to see the change. Also map for the option of "Switch View" as each theme has certain views the theme creator designed.

Are you talking about in game? If so, LB/BB has no affect on in game controls. All that is handled by the emulator.

In LB emulator setting do you have the correct default command line parameters for each of the arcade systems Demul can run? Can you post a couple of pics of your demul setup from LB. Show an image of the "Details" tab and and image of the "Associated Platforms" tabs. -
Adding onto @C-Beats request and focusing on the forum downloads I would say make sure you extracted the them from the zip and it is in the correct folder location. All forum themes you be unzipped and located: \LaunchBox\Themes\[Theme Name]\(contents of the theme) If you can provide an image of the content of the themes internal folder (make sure we can see the folder path as well). This will help us eliminate it being a file/location error.

How did you download theme? From the forum or from within the BB UI?

Lets keeps the thread to topics related to beta testing please. If you think a feature is needed use the “Request a Feature” link.

Marquee displays game when launching Arcade games.

Look in the Mame.ini for the area below. The Default might have screen set to auto. Try changing it to \\.\DISPLAY1 or \\.\DISPLAY2 depending on how Mame sees your monitors. # OSD PER-WINDOW VIDEO OPTIONS # screen \\.\DISPLAY1 -
It should work fine. I was using a 21:9 up until a couple weeks ago when I gave it to my nephew to replace his broken one. I do not know what could be your issue just offering that I know marquees work on the size screen. There are a couple other members I know use one as well.
