Hey Folks, I'm hoping some of the Retroarch experts can help me out. I'm trying to figure out how to input normal keyboard commands when Retroarch emulates older computers systems. Currently, when I load up a an older system (PC98 / Spectrum / etc) many of the keyboard controls are linked to hotkeys in Retroarch. BUT - even the one's that aren't don't always seem to respond either when I need keyboard control - I'm thinking of PC98 specifically. Is there a way to quickly deactivate hotkeys and have my keyboard emulate a keyboard hooked up to the original system? I'm hoping I worded this clearly. Thanks in advance.

Sort of and in a practical way, yes. You would make a wrestling category and create the playlists within it. From BBox it will look the way you described. You can also add categories within categories.
-
I've been hoping for more advanced auto Playlist options for a long time. Really need "and," "or" "but not/not" options.

I feel like ive already been doing this with the custom fields. Wouldn't it be similar,

People on discord helped - names with spaces need quotes around them "Tomb Raider" and it seems Letter Case (upper vs lower) also matters.
-
Thanks - fixed it.
-
Yup. The discord seems pretty active.

Hey Folks, After a bunch of trial and error, I finally got N-Gage all set up. eka2l1 is a great emulator - and there is a helpful discord you can join. A bunch of games are pretty playable already - not all. I've included a video to show how it turned out, links, some instructions, Unified platform video and theme files. 1 - Watch this video (I'm sure there are others - but this one was very helpful and included links to everything you need to get started (emulator / BIOS / ROMs / good explanation) 2 - Then you need to install all the games to the emulator. This can take a while. Instructions in the video above. 3 - To set it up in Launchbox (I wouldn't be surprised if there is an easier way - feel free to find one) I tried setting up the emulator in the "Emulator" section but then there are no ROMS or shortcuts to the games once installed. So instead, I created shortcuts for each game that just pointed to the emulator but are named after the game (this is time consuming - I hope someone figures out a better way). I installed them as "other" not ROMs - with no emulator. Then for each individual game - I had to add command line instructions in the "Launching" tab -( --app <game name> --fullscreen) This part was tricky to figure out - for <game name> - you have to load the emulator - go to launch app - and find the actual title used to launch the game. Sometimes they don't match the title of the game. For instance, Crash Nitro Kart - was actually - --app CNK --fullscreen - - I think with other ROM sets this might be easier - since these were cracked the names may have been changed. For instance, I couldn't get Rayman 3 to launch through command line - but when I got another copy from THE EYE - it worked fine. I think that should be it. If you can think of a better way please let me know. N-Gage Theme Video.mp4 Laor Media PC - Google Chrome 2021-01-21 14-06-45.mp4

I haven't tried the Nintendo games, but I like MEMU - seems to work well with Launchbox as well.

I'm thinking two ways to do this. 1) create a category called windows. Import games using their sources as platforms. Then have those plAtforms nested under the windows category as the parent. 2) create/use the platform for windows. Make sure the games all are tagged in some way with the sources. You can use custom tags if needed. Create smart playlists for each source and use windows as the parent.

Sounds great. Let me know if you need a tester. -
Can the spin animation for the wheel just be a visual representation of a true random result and not actually match the time it would take? Even a slight screen blink to end up at the random game would better.
-
Please. I would love true random and not based on how long I hold down the stick.

Sticking to my points. Anyone who uses the compatibility reports from the newest emulators knows that they are hardly ever up-to-date or consistent and reliable. How many yuzu and rcpc3 flagship games rely on mods and hacks to actually be enjoyably (objectively) playable? Just between cemu and Yuzu and rcpc 3 it's a bit of a mess. Also, You just have to tinker with each game based on your own settings - and we didn't even get into the difference between RAM, AMD and Nvidia cards. Then there is the issue of naming conventions matching LB. region differences? And differences between nightly and stable are important to me as user of many nightly versions of emulators. Ugh and then regressions... who will keep track of website changes - structurally? What is worth tracking? Yuzu, cemu, ryujinx, rcpc3, pcs2? not picking an argument Just pointing out how it seems impossible to build it to a point of usefulness
-
How would this even be possible? Compatibility changes constantly and is usually moderately reliable and completely dependent on emulator release. Then you have nightly vs stable and patches and mods. Seems a little silly to invest time in something that would be so unreliable. Nice pipe dream. That being said, I wish there was a way to be notified of emulator updates through Launchbox with direct links. Now that would be helpful!

I guess just to inform that this isn't the actual box. It's default box style

Started using moonlight. Works great so far

I'm sorry, still not clear - apologies - Can I install (run the installer) on another drive then copy over the LB and BB exes to my current LB folder and overwrite 11.3?
-
Alternatively, can I install another instance of LB on a diff. drive and copy over the LB and BB exe to my current folder?
-
I see a history of setup exes - each prompts me to reinstall. Is that what I need to do? Reinstall over my current install folder? That seems a bit scary.
