  1. Here you go. I made a backup when I bought LB. Edit by Lordmonkus: Removed download link.
  2. I suppose I have never given them much thought before. They were just on default. At least it only seems to be the game list effected. I can just set that to fade or none.
  3. Nope this PC is using a GTX 1070, the integrated graphics are disabled in the BIOS. I have found something else while messing. It seems linked to certain transitions. So far it seems to be vertical based ones. I changed it from vertical to fade and that works fine. It's not just vertical, its any transition where the whole game list moves, vertical slides, door, etc. It also seems to be only the game list. The image, video and game details all seem to be smooth with any transition.
  4. Seems I spoke too soon. It worked for a while and now seems to be back again.
  5. I think you may have hit the nail on the head with the full screen optimization thing. I installed 7.10 and the problem was there too. I disabled the fullscreen optimization and it seems to have fixed it. Although I wont know for sure until I update back to a current build and import more than the handful of games I was testing with. I guess I may have just installed windows 7 on the older PC for nothing. Although considering all its going to be used for is KODI and LB/BB I may just keep 7 on it, it may run better than with 10.
  6. Luckily I haven't had anything like that, RA appears to be working fine. The only thing I've ran into problems with is BB.
  7. There was just a new update called the fall creators update, its possible it is that one. Hopefully this gets fixed though as with it behaving like this I am not likely to be using it. I just found 7.10 on a backup I made so I'm going to try that.
  8. I have tested 7.11 aswell as the lastest 7.12 beta, the same thing happens with both. I was going to try and test even older versions but I no longer have the installer for those. This definitely wasn't happening when I first got LB/BB but I cant for the life of me remember which version of Win 10 I was on at the time. Its also only happening in BB, LB isn't having any problem with the images present. With the images removed BB goes back to being silky smooth.
  9. I am having a weird performance issue with Bigbox. I am using the default theme with the game list down the left side then the boxart at the top and video under it i. When loading bigbox and then going into a platform as the platform view rises from the bottom it stutters part way up then continues. After that it continues to work fine until I close and reopen bigbox, then it happens again the first time a platform is opened. I have narrowed it down to something to do with images. If I delete a platforms image folder the problem goes away. I haven't been doing any emulation stuff in a while so dont know when this was introduced, it is possible it was since the new fall creators update for win 10. Also this exact problem is present on 2 PC's. Both running windows 10 but massively different in specification. One is an old AMD Phenom II X6 3Ghz,4GB RAM/GTX 560 Ti). The other is a Intel 6700K/16GB RAM/GTX 1070). I would record it but I'm not sure how. I am about to install Windows 7 on the old PC to see if the problem is unique to Windows 10. I would really like to use BB on the more powerful PC too though and using an older OS on that is not an option. I have tested with 7.11 plus the latest 7.12 Beta. Is there anywhere I can download an older version ?
  10. In the manage emulators you have to add the new name to the list of platforms for retroarch and add the path to the core for it. Odd it didn't work when you changed it back though, are you 100% there was no difference to how it was originally? For images you need to into the settings for the platform after you have changed it and select the scrape as super nintendo entertainment system. You can just put the new name in manually when importing and it will then give the the scrape as option there. You still need to manually add the new name to the retorarch config though. I had to do this because I wanted Sega Mega Drive instead of Genesis.
  11. Most PC games rely far more heavily on the graphics card so its possible to get by with fairly old CPUs for the most part. I'm in no way saying the CPU have is awful, but it wouldn't really be worth buying if you were buying now. Ryzen are a massive jump forward in performance for AMD, so much so Intel have released the new Coffeelake CPU's earlier than they had planned to help counter them.
  12. Sorry, I missed that. When he said redoing I presumed that meant buying upgrades for.
  13. Honestly unless it was exceptionally cheap I wouldn't even look at a pre Ryzen AMD chip now.
  14. I can see your point but there is something to be said for using a pad with the same button layout and feel as the system you are emulating. For me using the FC for snes would just feel wrong, It looks like a great option though if you are just after a single pad for everything. I went to look for one after your original post and they are ridiculously expensive here in the UK.
  15. That controller is good as a jack of all trades, especially for Mega Drive and Saturn, I'm probably going to pick one up at some point as the cheapo ebay saturn style pad I got isn't great. However if someones priority is SNES I highly recommend the 8bitdo SNES/Famicom controllers. If MAME is a priority then the Hori Fighting Stick Mini 4 is great for it's price (currently around £30)
  16. As far as I know not in Big Box itself, that window is part of PCSX2 not BB. You could look into setting up PCSX2 through rocketlauncher as it can add loading screen which may hide it. However it adds a lot of complication to setting is all up.
  17. Do you have an Nvidia card? If so go into the driver control panel and for mame enable the vsync option adaptive(half). It limits the game fps to half the max of the monitor. Now I'm not 100% sure it'll help or if it reads max as what your running at normally or what it supports at max. Its possible it will think 30 is max and cap at Vsync to 15, however if it see's 60 as its max it will vsync to 30 which should help.
  18. Technically it does but I guess it depends on how sensitive you are too it and the type of games you play. Personally I can't feel a difference with it on or off. Another option to try if you have a iirc 9xx or 10xx series Nvidia card you could disable vsync in mame and enable fast vsync in nvidia drivers. It improves latency over normal vsync because instead of only rendering the frames to match your refresh it renders as if vsync was off and drops the frames it doesn't need to avoid tearing. AMD may have some similar setting, I have no experience with their cards in recent years.
  19. I've never noticed a performance difference between Vsync on or Vsync off(never tried Mslug though) but I do have a PC that is overkill for MAME (6700k/GTX 1070/16GB RAM). Try also enabling triple buffering, that can help reduce the impact Vsync has.
  20. I've had no problems with 0.185 so far. 0.186 also remembered the settings but I couldn't find the romset so settled for 0.185.
  21. I ended up resorting to 0.185. It was the newest version that saved the settings that I could find the romset for. I'm just going to stick with it until there is a compelling reason to change. Staying current with MAME seems more trouble than it is worth.
  22. I'm probably not replacing it for a good long time as I tend to use things till the break rather than just upgrade to better while they are fine, with some exceptions like my 6 year old PC that would just refuse to die. But Gsync is one of the top priorities next time I'm buying a monitor, unless a better option comes out in the mean time.
  23. That one is called Syncronized Refresh. It must differ in some way to Vsync as there is a Wait for vertical sync option right underneath it. Maybe two methods of achieving the same result? I use the wait for vertical sync option and it seems to work fine.
  24. I've just bought it and yeah it seems it doesn't natively support WHDload as I thought. However it can create RP7 files containing multiple disks then you just load that file and it handles all the disc changes itself. So convenience wise more or less the same thing.
  25. I think I am going to end up getting Amiga Forever as I used to love my Amiga 600. Its a shame USB Amiga style joysticks dont seem to be very widely available. I don't think I'm going to bother with the C64 one though I dont think I'd end up using it. Now if they had a ZX Spectrum version I'd be all over it. Although for the authentic Amiga experience I'm going to have to find a mouse that keeps jamming up and only registers every other click.
