You're probably using the wrong version of the plugin.

Try this one.

@alec100_94 Please add the hotfixed version directly to the download page, otherwise this is going to continue to be problem. Just add it as a separate file. You can have both available from the same download. People shouldn't have to find a comment and go to Github to get it.

That's the one I'm using. Even redownloaded it a few minutes ago to try again just to be sure I didn't save over the old version with a new file name by mistake.

Actually that github link to the zip isn't actually working for me (as in the zip itself literally doesn't download), I don't know if it's just me or what. The one from the comments on the plugin page works though (and I did have to unblock it when I downloaded it). This has to be used in conjunction with the complete plugin from the download page, you're just replacing the .dll.

I was able to download the zip from the github through right click>save link as. Any other way gave me the error you probably got.

My dlls weren't blocked; the only time I ran into a blocked dll was when I tried to use yours.

Even with your dll, it's still not working for me. I'm going to see if a system reboot clears it up; otherwise I'll just try nuking Launchbox and reinstalling it.

I tried that and it just wants to download it as an xml for me.

Github was broken temporarily, its working again now.

Ah okay, I thought it might be something like that. Was acting weird.

I'm not sure what to tell you then. What exactly is happening? An error on LB start? An error when trying to use the configurator? Or it just doesn't show up at all?

Just to give another status update, I've made a lot of progress today. I'm at 224 / 92%, so if it's not done tonight, it'll be done tomorrow.

No error message, LB boots up, but the config tool doesn't prompt when I right click to config.

My first instinct was that the settings file was borked, so I deleted it, restarted LB, and still nothing. EVen tried changing the version number inside of the settings file, and then nothing. After that, that's when I did the whole bouncing between PCSX2 versions, deleting, and reinstalling stuff I already mentioned.

First of all I would like to congratulate the PCSX2 team on the long awaited 1.6.0 stable release, and all of the hard work that was put into it.

@deathsycthe420 This tool should work fine with the new build, as there is very little difference between it and the latest 1.5.0 Dev builds.

A new (and much nicer) solution is in development for going forward, I was initially hoping to get out ahead of the 1.6.0 release but I guess that didn't happen. Just continue to watch this space.

Yeah it worked after i'd updated. Lost all my configs but that's not really an issue for me tbh. Thanks for the info

Hmm, yeah I'm not sure what would cause that. Maybe Alec has some idea.

Hopefully it's something simple. I guess the good news is, in lieu of the plugin there will eventually be another option as Alec mentioned earlier.

Yeah, it's a weird bug. But all of my crucial games have configs already, and the others wouldn't be too much of a nuisance to fetch manually. So I'm not stressing too much in the meantime.

I figured it out. Instead of burning my entire install, I just dumped my plugins folder and just added everything one at a time to figure things out. I got the config tool to work this way, but the Playtime Tracker plugin prevents it from working properly. Removing that plugin allows the config tool to function as it should.

Huh, good to know for future reference. Weird that that would have anything to do with it.

That's what I thought too, lol.

I downloaded the 1.2 version just for kicks and replaced the PlaytimeTracker dll of the new one with the old one, and now they both work.  I'm not a programmer or a dll-ologist, so I'm not sure if this will allow the old verion bugs of playtime to crop up, but that's a workaround for people who want to use both at the same time.

Alright... final pass is now complete. I uploaded a new config to Github, downloaded it through the plugin and everything came through correctly. I'm going to try a couple more to cover my bases but assuming everything goes well there I'll be pushing them all through.

Technically they're not identical, but they should be synonymous as far as the configs are concerned. Technically these were all tested with 1.5.0-dev-3400 but very little changed between then and 1.6.0 - primarily just some changes to the Onepad plugin, which isn't touched by these configs anyway. I did grab 1.6.0 and plan to test these with it, but there shouldn't be any significant difference between them.

I swapped over to 1.6.0 in LB and retested the ones that I tested last night and they're all working correctly. I'm going to continue pushing the rest through. I do not anticipate any issues there.

One note when changing over versions, be sure to restart LB afterwards, because the Configurator plugin will continue to use the previous version until you do.

Allllllllllllright... everything's been pushed through and the sheet has been updated.

A few notes:

Every single config has been touched, because the formatting in the configs changed a little bit, so even if there were “no changes”, there were some formatting changes that took place in the background. The only games noted in the update log, however, are ones where some value or setting actually changed from the previous version.

I made it a point to add a lot of additional notes for each game, so consider revisiting the details spreadsheet if you’re at all curious about this stuff and just for things to be aware of.

If one of the Bob deinterlacing modes is being used and you decide to change the scaling, do not change to a non-even resolution scale (i.e. 3x or 5x) as this causes a slight amount of jitter. It’s not super obvious, but I noticed it when changing several games that were set to one of the Bob modes to a scale of 5x - stick with 4 or 6 (or 8 I suppose if your hardware can handle it). I don’t know if this is a bug or what, but I encountered it pretty consistently in my testing.

As part of the update process, I went through and benchmarked everything with the framelimiter off (the results of which are now listed on the sheet, in the final column), and made a few adjustments here and there as the result of those tests. MTVU has been enabled and large framebuffer has been disabled in cases where A) a performance improvement might actually matter (in other words, if a game is running at 800% speed as-is, I didn’t go out of my way to see if I could get it to run any faster; 200% and below is basically where I started looking into potential speed improvements) and B) where it actually made a difference in my tests (because sometimes they don’t have any speed impact whatsoever). The amount to which it made a difference was at times as small as 15% or as much as 100%, it varies by game. There are also some cases where disabling large framebuffer doesn’t necessarily result in a consistent speed improvement but can help with sudden performance spikes. Truth be told, in my opinion large framebuffer really shouldn’t be enabled by default in PCSX2 (and I notice that now in 1.6.0 it isn't, it was in 1.5.0 dev builds though), and this has even been acknowledged by a number of devs in their forums. Primarily all it does is makes it so that FMVs don’t flicker in and out while playing in a pretty small number of games, and in those instances you can generally use the Software FMV hack as an alternative anyway; and the tradeoff for large framebuffer is at best no performance impact and at worst a substantial negative performance impact. It should be noted, of course, that the benchmarking results are specific to my hardware, but the changes should, generally speaking, benefit everyone. I have read that on some AMD CPUs MTVU is less beneficial, so your mileage may vary but that’s kindof a given since everyone’s going to have different hardware and varying amounts of overhead to begin with. If someone had good performance with a previous config and are suddenly getting very bad performance with the new one, I definitely want to know about that so I can take a look, but I’m not anticipating much of that. At worst performance should be pretty much identical and at best it should be better than it was before.

FXAA was added to many of the games (and this is noted on the sheet). It actually looks very good with very little impact on performance for the majority of games. It’s not as dramatic as the old MSAA, but it also has nowhere near the performance impact (and doesn’t create visual bugs like MSAA did on occasion). There are some instances where it does have a noticeable impact on performance that are mentioned in the notes. Whether or not it was kept in these cases depends primarily on the difference in final speed with framelimiting off vs the visual benefit of FXAA. In some cases it may have a noticeable impact but you might be talking about going from 450% max speed to 375% speed, which should still be well within tolerance for most hardware. In some cases you might be talking about going from something like 200% to 175%, which I’m less inclined to go for unless it makes a very significant improvement on the visuals - which is primarily a combination of A) the aesthetic style of the game and B) the scaling value. FXAA doesn’t yield as much of a benefit with 6x scaling as it does at 4x scaling (for reasons that are probably obvious), and by the same token speed impacts tend to be greater the higher the scaling, so you’re taking a bigger performance hit for an increasingly negligible difference in visual quality. In some cases I opted to A) go down a single scale step (but no lower than 4x) combined with FXAA rather than B) up a single step without FXAA where the performance between these two options were equivalent, because 1x down + FXAA will usually look a little better between these two (so long as the scaling is 4x+). In some cases FXAA makes very little difference visually one way or the other, depending on the aesthetic style - it’s more obvious with lots of clean, bright, lower-poly angled shapes than it is with a lot of busy dark colors on high poly models.

Issues status on Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, Burnout 3: Takedown, Kya: Dark Lineage, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Remix, Shadow of the Colossus, and Twisted Metal: Black went from yellow to green! I added a new config for Spartan: Total Warrior because it's no longer broken. Shadow of Rome no longer requires 1.2.1 for proper audio in cutscenes. Woohoo!

Someone had reported a while back that the Nanobreaker config wasn't downloading through the plugin. I took a look and discovered that the ID# had actually changed since I originally scraped it, and what was on github was the old number, so I've fixed that. I'll have to go through the others and verify that all the numbers are still correct. Beyond that, it's not something I'm going to know about unless someone tells me, so if anyone does encounter a game not matching, please let me know!

Now that all this shit is done I can actually get back to working on some new configs. Yaaaaaaaaaaay… FML… *crippling depression emoji*

NOTE: This game has slightly more problems in 1.6.0 than it had in 1.5.0-dev-2711, primarily because of accuracy improvements which makes it now attempt to render some elements that are buggy. This can mostly be mitigated with the proper settings, but it is nevertheless slightly buggier visually than it was in 2711, so I’m including instructions for the proper settings to use on 2711 on the details spreadsheet. The included config is for 1.6.0, and should be sufficient for the vast majority of people. If you’re really picky like me, you may want to grab 1.5.0-dev-2711 and setup a config for it specifically, using the settings I list on the sheet.
